Wedding weekend

This was a beautiful quiet place in a perfect location for our weekend. I highly recommend The Porch House and the homemade bread and strawberry fig jam was amazing.

The Porch House

We loved the Porch House. It retained the vintage charm that is a part of Columbus history along with being a thoroughly updated modern home. Although just minutes from downtown Columbus, the home was in a peaceful wooded setting, easily enjoyed by the many windows and porches overlooking the views. The home was beautifully furnished, with every comfort provided and spotlessly clean. My husband found the place “wonderful” and my daughter said that the rental photos did not adequately reflect how lovely the home was. Top review marks from our family!

Best VRBO rental ever! House was perfect in everyway…comfortable, clean, spacious, and just lovely. Hostess was so helpful, accessible, gracious and makes terrific sour dough bread! We hope to return next year for college reunion.

Understated Beauty

The pictures and description does this property no justice. Its so beautiful and peaceful my grandmother said the worse part about her stay was that she cant "pick up the house and take it home". The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. Like seriously nothing compares. They have thought of everything. Just wow. I want to go back to Columbus, MS for no other reason but to stay there again.

Wonderful stay

Our family enjoyed our stay so much in this lovely home. The home is comfortable, clean and beautifully renovated. While sitting on the porch we watched birds, even an owl, and deer come into the yard. Sondra, our host even left us two loaves of homemade bread and strawberry fig jam which we enjoyed immensely! Highly recommend if staying in Columbus.

Thanksgiving at the Porch House

Loved the Porch House!! Sandra meet us with warm bread and jam, which was wonderful. House has everything you need and enough space for the family. Very quiet area but still close to town. Will definitely go back!

Graduation Trip

We stayed at the Porch House for our son’s graduation from Mississippi State. I cannot recommend this house more. The front porch was delightful for morning coffee and so relaxing. The home had everything we needed and so comfortable and inviting. We had the best time and hope to stay again at this wonderful home when our son graduates with his Masters in 2 years. Excellent communication from the owners!!!

Daughters UPT graduation

This was a perfect spot for family to stay for a ceremony and dinner at the Air Force Base. A lovely home and we really enjoyed it. My mother left an earring in the bathroom and the host mailed it back to us. Very kind hosts. Highly recommend.

Great MSU weekend

This was our 2nd stay at the Porch House. Everything was fantastic once again! Two king size beds. 1.5 baths upstairs and downstairs. Separate thermostats upstairs and downstairs. Those are some of our favorite features.

Christmas 2022

Let first start off by saying Jim and Sondra are the best hostess we have ever encountered. We experienced the best hospitality ever. On a arrival we learned that there was no heat due to the weather conditions. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. The house was exactly how it was displayed on the website. I would definitely book this place again. And to top it off Sondra made homemade bread with strawberry and fig jam. Perfection!

Just Perfect

The Porch House provided the perfect environment for our family weekend celebrating a University of Alabama graduation. Three generations (12 of us) met there and spent 3 wonderful nights together cooking, playing, exploring and enjoying being together. The 3 living areas provided plenty of room for us to gather and visit, the sleeping arrangements were comfortable and the kitchen and dining room made our meals easy and together. The kids loved exploring the trails and playing in the huge yard while the grown-ups watched from the comfort of the rocking chairs. And it doesn’t hurt to have a Dollar General Store about 5 minutes away. Sondra is a joy to meet and work with, and I highly recommend this home away from home. You will not regret it!

Amazing home

You can tell the host put a lot of time and effort into decorating this home. When I tell you this home is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay with extra emphasis on EVERYTHING! It was very spacious and it accommodated myself and my guests comfortably. I rented this home for my daughter’s graduation party and we had about twenty eight guests to attend. The plan was to enjoy the upper and lower levels of the porch but the weather said otherwise. Even though it rained, we were still able to fit comfortably inside without being cramped on top of one another. There was plenty of dining space and recreational space. Like I said, the house literally had everything. The host was also very helpful. I had some questions upon arrival so I sent the host a message and when I say not only did they respond promptly, they called me. I’ve stayed at several other places before and never once have I had the host reach out through a phone call, they would always message. The host was extremely patient and polite and you could just feel the positive energy through the phone. They urged me that if I had any other questions or concerns to please reach out without hesitation. I could go on and on about my experience with this host and the porch house but I will end it with this, UNTIL NEXT TIME!
