Our family of three enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Cabin. The spring weather was beautiful and the trails were really nice. Thanks for sharing your amazing home with us.
Had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Cloud Nine during Thanksgiving week with our family of four. I can't say enough about how great the house and property (and property owners) were during our stay. The house, rooms, kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful and the property and views are amazing. Beautiful mountain views (the sunsets are incredible), peace and quiet (the house is surrounded by forest, although neighbors are nearby you wouldn't know it), and a super relaxing living room area with fireplace and porch areas for lounging. We drove into Asheville a few times, which was fun, but always nice to come back to Cloud Nine. We'll be back.
An Oasis for our Family Retreat to Relax, Refresh and Revitalize!
Personally we loved the scenery as we drove the winding roads through a beautiful mountain side to finally reach our private mountain escape.
A wonderful backside entry allows for ease of entry and bringing in all your personal belongings for your stay. Once inside you not only have the mountain fresh air to breathe but incredible open and airy views of the majestic Smokey mountains surrounding you.
The home is spacious and plentiful with thoughtful extra amenities to make you feel like it’s your spa day … everyday. From relaxing Yoga mats, pillows, blankets to an array of blissful essential oils to add a drop to your epsom salt bath.
I was very appreciative the hosts supplied things from toilet paper, soap, detergent and all those little things you need to run a house from day to day. Also, the fridge had a gracious offering of condiments in the fridge and spices in the cabinets for our use. . All of these little things can add up in cost when you rent a place (it is the little things I REALLY appreciated as a mother).
A generous stack of wood was supplied to build outside and inside cozy fire. Our family loved chilling on the balcony watching the sunset over the mountain top. And the kids had a blast running around the property and playing on the aerial silk and learning some new tricks!
It is about a 20 - 25 minute ride to a very nice grocery store. I would encourage guests to stop on their way up the mountain and stock up on their favorite items. Though it’s not a quick ride into town … It is the perfect place should you want to escape and be alone in nature with those you love. We visited a zip line treetop adventure place, had a tour of the Biltmore and visited downtown Asheville - nothing took us more than about a 30 - 40 minute drive. I personally loved the driving scenery and thrill of twisting through the mountains to arrive at our destinations.
The hosts are absolutely lovely people who will make sure all of your needs are met. We definitely plan to come back again! I am very thankful we found a place to step back and enjoy our Thanksgiving holiday together.
Enjoy the house for 3 to 4 people. It is rural and the drive to the property is down windy and narrow mountains roads that are paved but the property itself is accessed by a gravel road so a four wheel drive, rugged car is best. The trip into Asheville takes about 30 minutes so not too long but I would caution that driving the roads at night back to the house can be a bit longer because the roads are not well lit. The house is nicely stocked with cooking essentials, tea and coffee. The living space has large sofas and chaise lounge that made sitting and reading or looking out the large sliding doors facing the Mountain View very cozy. Since the house sits on a piece of property surrounded by wooded land it has no curtains or window treatments to obscure the views. The bed linens and bathroom linens were clean and enough for four of us. Since there is a washer and dryer we were able to pack light and the owner provided all necessary soap and cleaning supplies. I think a spring or late fall stay would be a nice fit and would result in easier driving since it was very cold and ice was a concern at night. Overall enjoyed the peace and quiet.
I cant say enough about this property and the owners Emily and Jay. Everything was as promised and then some and both owners were 100% accessible at all times. If you are looking for a peaceful comfortable retreat with views that go on for ever well then this is the place. Close enough but still far away enough for a quiet and peaceful experience. Lots of nature surrounding the house and lots to do just a stones throw away. I cant find fault with any part of our stay whatsoever. We stayed three months and hope to return again in the future. Cheers, Berni
My wife and I stayed at the Cloud Nine Log Cabin for a long weekend. It's very sucluded, and very quite and peacful if your looking to get away from everything. The road to the home is an off-road special, DO NOT drive on this road w/out a 4 wheel drive vechicle. It's an overgrown road with a steep incline and a qtr mile drive to the top.
The house is kept very clean, in fact it gets an A+ for cleanliness and overall information provided by the owners turned out helpful. The mountian views are amazing and it's a 40 min drive to Asheville. Drive to Asheville, lots of hairpin turns and typical mountian roads, be extremly careful driving at night.
The firewood for the fireplace and firepit are well stacked and an ambunace of firewood. My only beef is that the TV really never worked, only in the Master bedroom. The TV's are setup for streaming however the internet connection is ok to poor signal strength at best. I'm a big TV guy so this was a big bone of contension with me, my wife could give two sh*&'s.
We really enjoyed our stay at Cloud Nine! The weather truly cooperated and the fall follage is at full bloom, so we really lucked out. Great accomidations and awesome property setting. My only recommendation to the owners is try to make the drivway to the house an easier ride and get satellite, you're guests will have a better inetrnet/streaming experience.

We have always loved the Blue Ridge Parkway and Smoky Mountain area and have traveled here for years to feel the fresh mountain air from the salt water and beaches off the west coast of Florida. After multiple life changing evening events, we took the plunge and purchased this cabin in a secluded area for us to carve out new paths and create new adventures.
Why they chose this property
We love the property and all the uniqueness! We are in a secluded area and the property line goes all the way to the top of a ridgeline at about 3300 feet elevation on 14 acres including 5 ridge lines. There are multiple trails we have already carved out plus we welcome you to create your own paths too!
What makes this property unique
There are some small creeks. Depending upon the time of year, there are multiple overlooks. The view overlooking the smoky mountains off the balcony is breathtaking. Listening to the sounds of nature throughout the day and night is soothing. The stars at night shine bright. The area is quiet. There is also a fenced in area behind the house about an acre.
