About this property

Bridge to Paradise Island

Beautiful home on its own small private island in the Old Florida coastal town of Cedar Key
Enter into the 'main house' with a large open kitchen, living, and dining area. Lots of windows with a panoramic 180 degree views are the show stopper of this area. A large, well equipped kitchen & dining area with 6 chairs at the dining room table, and an extra 4 small bar stools, then 8 more high bar stools at the breakfast bar. All the seating makes this area great to have the whole family together for dinners. This space also has a 1/2 bath off the living room. The living room has a very large leather sectional and love seat complete with cupholders & usb charging ports. You can stay up to date with events or have movie nights with the large 75" TV, with viewing from almost anywhere in the common areas.

You may not want to turn on the TV with the stunning views of the outdoors through the large picture windows & french doors leading out onto the spacious wrap around deck looking out on the natural beauty of Cedar Key's islands. The deck has a serving bar and plenty of seating for entertaining. There are several barstools and chairs, and a large outdoor U-shaped sectional. The deck is partially covered for those sunny days or the occasional afternoon shower, but open to the sea breezes you will come to love and enjoy. You can almost count on seeing dolphins fishing around your dock on a daily basis.

Boating is a great way to explore the islands that surround you. Four kayaks are included for your use or you can bring a small boat to tie to the dock. The tides will rise and fall from 5ft to 0ft, so only shallow draft boats are recommended. There is a county boat ramp less than a quarter mile away for your convenience. If boating and kayaking aren't your thing feel free to fish directly off the dock or catch crabs with the supplied crab traps.

When it's time to relax for the evening there are plenty of rooms to choose from. The master bedroom of the main house has a king size bed with its own ensuite bathroom complete with a water closet, double sinks, and a very large step in stone double shower. There is a clothing rack, large TV, and dressers. The sunrises from the bed are amazing in the morning. The second and third bedrooms each have a queen bed, TV's, and their own ensuite bathrooms, and step in stone showers.
Head over to the beautiful In-Law Suite and there is a king size bed, a large futon, a kitchenette, small breakfast table, flat screen TV, ensuite bath featuring another water closet and step in stone shower, and its very own deck.
If you're traveling with kids we have the perfect 'Teen Room' that they will love. There is a full size bed, 2 twin over twin bunk beds, and a pull out sleeper sofa. The teen room also has a large flat screen TV and its very own bathroom. This room has its own private entrance.

If you're looking for something fun to do, under the house we have shuffleboard. We provide the sticks, discs, and the scoreboard. We also have horseshoe pits and horseshoes, Or you can head over to the large fire pit area and enjoy scenic views while roasting marshmallows by the fire.

Peaceful and spectacular marsh view
Loved this property! The view from the back porch is gorgeous with plenty of wildlife including many bird species and a local pod of dolphins that visited daily. You cannot kayak or navigate a boat during the low tides but have plenty of depth during rising tides. The house was clean and well appointed. We will be back.

Great House for a large group, but caveat
We had a wonderful time at this house. Despite the weather not working in our favor and the water being pushed out of the bayou from heavy wind storms (leaving only mud and no water!), we still had a great time! The house has great indoor and outdoor areas for a large group and all the bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious and well appointed. Upon arrival, we noticed the refrigerator was broken. We immediately contacted the host and worked with them to come to an agreement, which we did over the phone and through text messages. We agreed to a refund amount based on the fact that this was a very expensive rental missing a major amenity, but unfortunately the owner came back after check-out and said they would only be giving us less than half of the agreed upon amount. We agreed to the refund in lieu of having them make the effort to contact their maintenance guy and/or track down a refrigerator for our stay, so to say we were disappointed on the owner backtracking is an understatement. We had brought all our food for a 4-night stay since grocery shopping is very limited in the area. We had to live out of coolers that needed to be refilled with ice often and shifted around the kitchen to access the pantry and laundry closet. After we pushed back for the owner to stick to our original agreement, they added on a claim that we damaged some outdoor cushions and a storage box cover which was probably caused by the heavy storms we had while on site and not by us. The house is a great place for a family vacation, but unfortunately the final communications with the owner left a sour taste in our mouths.

Beautiful View
Beautiful view, check in was easy. You can always tell about the quality of the property management when something goes wrong. In the case the A/C was not working and the response was instant, they had it running within a day.

Perfect solution for multi-family
Our four families enjoyed this getaway location immensely. The property uniquely provides private accommodations for each family (and young adults) while allowing us to congregate as a large group for great family fun. A welcome card and basket of snacks greeted us on arrival. On site amenities (such as the kayaks, shuffleboard, dock, fire pit area, and grilling gazebo) fit perfectly into our desired activities. Ashely was very responsive to messages and the property was well-maintained. The property setting allowed for great sunrise views and plenty of opportunity to view a variety of wildlife. The close proximity to Cedar Key's Dock Street, local grocery and great restaurants, along with local state parks made this a vacation our families will cherish for years to come. Thank you Ashley for a wonderful vacation! Who knows, we may be back sooner than you think.
