Cosy, bright house + terrace in the center of Surgères

Quiet and bright house in the centre of Surgères, neat decoration and functionality, completely renovated in 2023, it opens onto a large terrace and mini private garden. Warm in winter with the stove in the centre of the living room and cool in summer with its thick stone walls: barrier against the heatwave.
The 95m2 house is located in the very centre, 1 minute walk from the pretty market and shopping streets of Surgères, and 2 minutes further from its castle park, it will accommodate a family or up to 4 people.
At the end of a small driveway, very quiet, you will enter directly into a large bright living room of 30m2 with enough to sit comfortably around a large coffee table, some storage (shoes)... You will enjoy orange Wifi everywhere in the house, orange box for the TV, bluetooth speaker, ethernet sockets in each room.
Then there are 2 open accesses to the large kitchen and the dining area, as well as separate toilets.
The kitchen is fully equipped (fridge, freezer, induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, nespresso, French press, kettle, toaster, washing machine,...), cutlery, utensils, crockery, tea towels... It opens via a large bay window onto the 25 m2 terrace, where you will find a dining area and a relaxation area with deck chairs, a bbq, (and a shade cloth that you don't see in the photos). The flower garden brings freshness and some tomatoes if you come in the right season!
The outbuilding which opens onto the terrace will remain closed during your stay. Access to the outside (at the back) is private through the house and by a path closed by a gate invisible from the street.
Upstairs, a landing leads to an office space, the bathroom and 2 bedrooms. The main one has a 160 cm bed, chest of drawers and clothes racks, the 2nd attic bedroom has 2 twin beds, which can be arranged according to your preference, shelves and hanger area for your clothes. I provide you with sheets, pillowcases and shower towels. The bathroom has an 80x150 cm walk-in shower, a sink and a toilet area, coat hooks, towel warmer, shelves, hairdryer.
You will have access to the whole house, as well as the enclosed outside.
Be careful, the window of the 2nd bedroom is low, there is a railing but it is not suitable for children under 7-8 years old, and the staircase has no risers, which is not suitable for very young children.
Fans are available in each room, although the house (made of stone) remains very cool if you manage the shutters well according to the sun.
The train station of Surgères is 12min walk, I can pick you up by car (5 min). Well located, you can't hear the trains from the house. This station serves by the TGV Paris directly in 2h15 - 2h35 depending on the stops. The TER trains serve the whole region (La Rochelle in 15 minutes), and the buses also serve the island of Oléron.
If you come by car, you can park in the street (20m from the house, the street is very little frequented, you can stop in front of the driveway while you unload your luggage), or in the various nearby and free car parks, including the one at the station. I will provide you with information to get around the area.
Between 25 and 40 minutes, you will be in La Rochelle, Rochefort, the Ile de Ré, the Poitevin marshes, Fouras, ... And at 1 hour drive and +, you will be in the island of oléron, Royan, Cognac ...
