Your family and friends will enjoy an entire 3600 sq ft “A” frame Chalet on 18 private acres. The Rye Chalet is a True Artisan Chalet that sleeps up to 13. The property is Perfect for retreats, weddings, family reunions, getaways, and creatives. Breathe Vermont’s fresh woodland air, enjoy a calming scenic view of the valley and enjoy the crisp water from the chalet’s deep water well. So good.

The Rye Chalet has hosted guests like you since 2014 and they have enjoyed the custom 3-story spiral staircase, open concept with a center three story stone fireplace, Picture windows and a gorgeous wrap-around deck that looks over Hidden Valley's miles of hills, fields and streams. It is truly a custom artisan chalet.

All within an hour: a nearby state nature reserve, learn Fly Fishing at the Orvis Fly Fishing School or visit the American Museum of Fly Fishing in historic Manchester village: the Norman Rockwell Exhibition, where Norman Rockwell's models are your tour guides, at the Arlington Gallery in Arlington, hometown of Norman Rockwell 1939-53, on historic Route 7A; the world- famous Simon Pearce Glass-Blowing workshop and restaurant in Quechee, VT and the noted Billings Farm Museum in Woodstock.

Your stay also includes our seasonal Fire Pit Patio, FAST Wi-Fi, ROKU HDTVs, Artisan fireplace, a built in oven, Induction cooktop, and a welcoming well-stocked kitchen featuring a new refrigerator, dishwasher, induction cooktop, and cookware-just ask us what you need and we'll let you know if it's at the Chalet.

You will also enjoy a full bathroom on each floor with soaps and towels, two separate living rooms, a game table, a dining area. There are games galore, hundreds of well-chosen books and over 200 DVD movies. Outside, gather at the seasonal 15x25' fire pit patio, play horseshoes, corn hole, or just go for a relaxing walk.

Bringing little ones? We even have 2 high chairs, infant dinnerware, and a pack ‘n’ play with a comfy foam mattress with fresh linens.

Pets are welcome! Up to 3 well-behaved pets. Rates are $40 per night for one pet, $60 for two, $80 per night for three. We have a weekly discount and we often run seasonal specials.

An optional separate 350 sq. ft. private studio office, 5-star by work-from-homers, is available, more is below on the Creative Studio.

As you can imagine, the chalet does book quickly so please don’t hesitate. We offer many of our repeat guests a friends and family discount because the chalet is truly a family experience. We hope you love the home as much as we do.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Summer and early Fall: On the third floor, set the Lennox thermostat to 75° auto, we will take care of all the others.
Winter and early Spring: Zone heating on each floor using the Honeywell thermostats. Supplement with the Lennox HVAC/main floor mini-splits. Draw the drapes closed when possible to keep in the warmth
All seasons: just turn off the third floor Lennox thermostat, we can do the rest.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Guns of any kind may not be discharged on Rye Chalet property.
You agree to see that no-one in your party will sit or lean on the railing around the deck.

This was our second stay at the chalet and it will not be our last. Accommodations were super. Chalet is spotless and roomy. Owners are responsive ti all inquiries. A perfect spot for much needed family time.

Rye Chalet is an incredible property with sweeping views of the valley below. The chalet is a great combination of 60’s A frame architecture and vibe with modern technology and comforts. Highly recommend staying here for a unique and special way to experience Vermont.

Great retreat!

The Rye Chalet was a great experience for our group. The house is extremely well provisioned and is clean and comfortable. Great views, surrounded by woods and blessed quiet. Easy access to neighboring towns and areas with lots to do, especially if you like hiking and outdoors. Excellent communications and support from the host. Would stay here again.

Relaxing birthday weekend

The property promises great views and delivers fully! The windows overlooking the valley are great all times of day and the house is well appointed. Three nicely sized bedrooms and bathrooms, plenty of areas for relaxing and hanging out. This chalet is a great deal in a good location in Vermont.

Amazing stay

My family and I decided to book this wonderful place for my husbands 40th family. As soon as we pulled up it took my breath away. The scenery alone was spectacular. There was so much greenery everywhere we looked. Everything was stocked well and the host was excellent with questions when we asked. Rye Chalet

Very nice and clean property with a beautiful view from the deck! The fire pit was lovely in the evening and the host supplied ingredients for making s’mores! The sky was completely clear and we enjoyed star gazing while we enjoyed the fire! The host provided quick responses to questions I asked and provided amazingly detailed information about the property, which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend the Rye Chalet to others and hope to stay again soon!!!

The perfect spot!

We stayed here with a group of friends for a mountain biking trip. We have stayed up at Kingdom Trails for the past 9 yrs and were looking to change it up. This spot was perfect! Close to all three trail heads, plenty of space for everyone indoors and out, great parking situation, not too far from town but felt very secluded. We had some questions about where things were stored while we were there and the hosts were incredibly responsive. Truly 5 star experience!

Golf Tourney at Lake Saint Catherine.

Excellent spot close to the golf course. Three different levels to the chalet, each with it's own bath/shower really helped with 5 guys trying to get out the door at the same time. Also our cook (aka The Hoss) thought it was the best kitchen set up he has seen thus far. Poker table was a huge bonus!

Great Home / Beautiful Location

Our family of four (5) (sons ages 7 and 10 and dog) stayed at the property in July '21. The house lived up to the listing/pics/reviews. The property was a great place for our family to unwind. Being able to bring along our furry family member was an added bonus. Location was great; as we were able to enjoy the benefits of the Adirondacks and the Green Mountains. We have always enjoyed sharing a creative experience with others and when we discovered a custom built chalet created with care and attention to detail, we fell in love and we wanted to share the experience. Since owning the Chalet, we have dedicated ourselves to updating and retaining its original design. We also brought back the art studio, now the creative studio, that we offer separately to writers, artists and open the doors for weddings.

Terrific fire pit patio that's ready for s'mores. Vermont's famous fresh air supplied by countless trees. Once there, you can feel ourselves relaxing.
