Cabanas Maracuya has been 15 years in the making. The designer, constructor and your host, Venancio has been building the six cabanas on the property over the years paying special care and attention to the placement of each plant and detail.

Each of the six unique cabanas feature a private bathroom and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a rustic, luxury feel. Amidst the lush garden covering the property is a shared swimming pool perfect for lazy days. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected.

You will be within a five-minute walk to the beach – some of the best surfing in the world and just minutes away from local cuisine, markets, shopping and nightlife. Cabanas Maracuya is in the heart of La Punta, a neighborhood in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca – a 10-minute drive to the city center and bus station, and 15 minutes to the local airport.

Cabanas Maracuya is the perfect place for couples, explores, surfers, families and all-around vacationers to enjoy all that Oaxaca has to offer. Venancio takes pride in providing personalized, laidback service in his hometown – according to Venancio, there is no better place in the world than Puerto Escondido.

Rent an automatic scooters (2 available) at the Cabanas to enjoy La Punta to the fullest.

Some of the best things to do in town include dolphin, whale and other sea life sightseeing tours, turtle release tours, sport fishing (by boat, on the shore, or diving) and bioluminescence outings.

Visit our surf school - Punto Magico - located on the beach at La Punta (5 min walking from the Cabanas) to book a surf lesson, rent a surf board, book a surfing or fishing trip, do some shopping, or ask any questions.

Manny was an excellent host extremely friendly and spoke English. The rest of the staff were very sweet. Loved the layout with your own outside sitting and kitchenette. The water in the shower was not hot and bring some incest spray. Overall well worth the coast

Fun stay for a group of friends

We loved staying at this shady property in Puerto Escondido. The pool was a hit. There are some significant mosquitoes so bring or buy bug spray. There is also some construction going on around the property at the moment which was a little loud but not terrible. Venancio and his family were very helpful always. The wifi can be a little spotty so I wouldn’t suggest trying to do significant work while there. It’s better as a vacation spot! A/C in the cabanas was excellent and the garden around the property is beautiful.

Wonderful stay

The perfect location in Puerto Escondido. We stayed in the Areca cabin for one month. From the moment we arrived everything was fantastic. The location was excellent, a few minute walk to the beach and restaurants yet far enough away to have a restful quiet holiday. The cabins are basic but everything you need for long term. Nice pool, grounds well laid out for privacy between cabins, air conditioning, hot water. Great bed, huge bathroom, very secure. The owners Venancio and Erin are friendly and very helpful. Anything you need can be accommodated. Their housekeeper Reina is always around to help and cleaned our cabin often while we were there. But the highlight is their cute happy baby Leo who greets you with a big smile daily. The owners are onsite but give you plenty of privacy. We will miss this entire family! Don’t hesitate, this is the best place in Puerto Escondido. We will definitely book again!

Venancio has a beautiful family, many of which live close by. In his spare time, he loves to ride motorbikes with his son and spear fish with friends!

Cabanas Maracuya is a unique space built with love. We're always here to help you but are happy to leave you space to fully enjoy your relaxing stay. At times guests become friends and we've loved sharing a BBQ with guests over time.
