Welcome to Paradise in Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica! We love our condo and we hope that you will as well. As soon as you open the front door, you see panoramic, unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and marina. The ocean view is visible not just from the living room, but from each bedroom. As you wake up every morning, right from your bed you will see blue waters and rolling, green hills. A cup of fresh coffee on the balcony or in bed - what can be better than that? Ready for the beach? Flamingo Beach, known for its white sand and crescent-shaped beach, is 5-10 min walking distance from the condo. You need look no further than Playa Flamingo and our condo for your next getaway!

So you are all set!!! Wait – what about the pool? We have 2 pools that you can use and beach towels. Who wants to exercise on vacation? Well, in case you do, we have a gym on the first floor of the building with cardio equipment.
Do you need car? Not really. There are at least 8 restaurants within walking distance offering local and international cuisine. Also, a convenience store is a 3 minute walk from the condo. Nearby you can also find a bank, ATM, pharmacy, car rentals and tour companies. If you decide to rent a car, we can assist in renting a car from local companies. What about just a golf cart- we can arrange that as well.
Almost everyone wants to go zip-line or snorkeling. We have a great driver/tour guide who can pick you up from the airport and arrange tours to many destinations.
Relaxing in beautiful Flamingo is a must! We can even arrange massage right in the condo.
How a about local chef cooking dinner for you? Our chef can prepare a memorable dinner – no need for shopping, cleaning or cooking. We can arrange for a chef to do it all.
Any questions during your stay – we have a local manager who will be assisting you before and during your stay and taking care of your needs.
Getting to our place is really easy. We are just 1 hour drive (from the Liberia airport and the road is well paved). Playa Flamingo is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Playa Flamingo is the ideal for some of best deep sea fishing in the world. Marlin, tuna, swordfish and snapper can be found off the coast all year around. Besides deep sea fishing, Playa Flamingo also offers a wealth of water sports, diving and golf in close proximity. It is not far to the amazing Santa Rosa National Park and the Palo Verde natural reserve. Best of all, the weather is great year-round.

Wonderful place

The condo was perfect for our family for the holiday week. Clean, comfortable and a fabulous view from every room and the large balcony. Walking distance to the beautiful beach, shops and restaurants. Our only tip would be to reserve a golf cart or car way ahead of time to avoid the walk up and down the hill in the heat. A great place to make memories with family and friends!

Fantastic location

Our family had a wonderful vacation here. The condo was ideally situated, allowing us to walk to Flamingo Beach, grocery store and nearby restaurants. We had a car and used the condo as a home base while we explored the many beaches in the Guanacaste area. The view from the balcony is stunning, and the same views can be seen from both bedrooms and the family room. We would definitely rent this condo again if we are so lucky as to return to the Playa Flamingo.

Great Views

The first thing we noticed was the awesome views from every room. The condo overlooks the harbor and each morning we would have breakfast on the patio watching the fishing boats going out for the day. The condo is spacious and clean and has all the amenities. It is just a short walk to the market, beaches and restaurants. We spent a lot of time relaxing at the resort and walking on the beach. Did I say the sunsets were fantastic? The owners are friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful experience. For a side trip I recommend you use the resort concierge to take a trip to the Palo Verde National Park or Arenal Volcano.

Beautiful condo

This condo was everything it was described as and more! My friends and I were very pleased & Renee, the property manager was lovely & extremely helpful. The only thing we were dissappointed about was that the condo did not have wireless Internet as advertised. We were able to pick it up on the balcony but it was spotty at best and most of the time did not work at all. Other than that, the place was pristine, amenities outstanding and a great value!

Perfect choice!

Rooms with a view! We loved our three night stay at this unit. Our family of six fit perfectly. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. We didn’t use the kitchen at all but it seemed to be fully equipped. Upon check in, we found the place clean and better than the pictures. The long continuous porch connects the bedrooms and the living rooms space. It offers a spectacular view of the marina and mountains. In the distance you can see beaches such as Sugar Beach and playas Prieta, Penca, and Potrero. It rained at least once a day and the porch was the ideal spot to watch. One day there was a double rainbow beginning at the spit and ending on the mountain. Wow! You can’t see Playa Flamingo from the unit but it is just a stone’s throw away. Easy walk for an agile person. There is a steep hill to walk down to reach the restaurants and beaches. We drove our car down; parking was easy. (About a one minute drive but we have some bad knees in the family.) Restaurants we chose were: *Marie’s (for all 3 breakfasts- yes, that good! Marie’s backs up to the unit but you have to walk down the hill) *Beach House (1 lunch and 1 dinner - great seafood, variety with sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas, fish tacos, etc- very casual overlooking the marina. Several large iguanas watched us eat. Drive 5 min.) *CocoLoco (dinner- yummmm, had the lobster. Toes in the sand kind of place. Perfect for sunset watching. Easy walk once you’re down the hill. We drove. Easy parking) *Camaron Dorado (also very good, toes in the sand in Brasilito, ocean front, live music (but still family friendly and able to talk)). All the beaches listed above are either a short walk or an easy drive. Our favorite was Flamingo. One day we drove down to Tamarindo for a day of surfing. Iguana Surf Shop is a good place to take lessons (but we didn’t) or rent boards (we did!). Very easy beach access from there. Lots of shops and food here too. Only drawbacks of the unit... 1) the elevator stops between floors so when you exit the elevator there are stairs going up or down. Therefore you must take at least some stairs to get to the unit. 2) both showers have (high) windows in them that open to the exterior hallway. A little awkward feeling that someone might walk by and peak but there’s no foot traffic by this unit because beyond the unit, there is only one other unit. Neither kept us from having a good time! We loved our stay! Would definitely stay there again! Highly recommend!

Great stay!

We had a lovely stay at Maria's property. Both she and her property manager were super responsive. As stated in the other reviews, the place was a lot nicer in person than in the pictures! My kids attended CPI, the Spanish immersion school, at Playa Flamingo, and this was a super short walk to the school. My friend and I enjoyed eating at Marie's after dropping the kids off at school. The little grocery store right at the corner was also super convenient.

We loved Costa Roca

We absolutely loved this part of Costa Rica. We went fishing, snorkeling, 4 wheeling, and zip lining. Everyone was very friendly, and we spent a day up at Mt Arenal, and that wasn't enough time to scratch the surface of that area. We will spend more time up there then. Everyone was very friendly at Sunset Heights, and Amaya was very responsive to all of our needs, which weren't too many. The condo was very bright and comfortable. The noise from the street below the balcony was a bit much at times, but the view was to die for. We enjoyed the cleaner that came every Thursday to clean the condo. She did an excellent job and was very friendly.

Finally Found the Place in CR to Come Back To

We had a lovely stay in this condo and the host was very easy to work with. The walk out balcony from every room can't be beat! Kitchen well stocked in terms of cooking supplies, beds comfortable, lots of towels, washer dryer is key. This is the 6th place we have rented in Costa Rica, and the first one I can say that we will definitely come back to. If you are bothered by morning light, be sure to bring an eye mask. The sliding doors have very good black out curtains, but the light is so bright in the morning, it still sneaks in.

Fantastic ! Top floor, outstanding view

lean, large and perfect location. Beds were very comfortable. Best part was the balcony - large, private, view of Protero Bay and marina, always with a cooling breeze. Amaya was very helpful with any small problems we had and helpful with recommendations of places to visit, restaurants etc. Everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful. Loved the pools and met many friendly, fun people. The whole atmosphere of the complex made us feel safe and welcomed. Maria's recommendation of Brian the tour guide was excellent. Did 4 different tours with him and all were private and well worth the money. They were highlights of our 5 week stay. Playa Flamingo beach was wonderful but since we had a car we were able to visit numerous beautiful beaches. One of our favorites was Playa Grande. This condo was in a perfect location to visit other areas and beaches. GREAT STAY

Beautiful Place! WAY BETTER than described!

Where should I begin? We've been to CR twice now and have stayed at about 15 or so different places. This condo is, by far, the best place we've seen on the west coast. There are beautiful views of the bay from every room. You can also enter the balcony from any room. We spend each morning on the balcony for breakfast and every evening on the balcony for a little wine. Most of the time, you can see ginormous schools of fish breaking water in the bay. It was so quiet and relaxing; reading and watching parrots flying by all day. Wonderful! The condo was in perfect condition and spotless. It was nice with the living room separating the two bedrooms. I could watch TV in one room while my wife was sound asleep in the other bedroom. She couldn’t hear the TV at all. All the appliances were in great shape. We spent a couple evenings by one of the two pools. At times, we had it to ourselves and other times, we chatted with other residents. Everyone was super friendly. The internet was very good. Parking can get a little tight, however, if you come in later in the evening. There is a small grocery as you go down the hill a bit. It is small, but has everything you’d need for a short stay. One day, we walked across the street to the small Coast Guard station and dock. We watched some locals fishing and saw some monkeys. Being that it’s on a hill, and we are over 60, we didn’t take many other strolls. We stayed at two other condos on this trip and while their ads may have looked better, they didn’t come close to this place. We’re not as young as we used to be and getting “crazy” is on high on our bucket list. We stayed in Tamarindo, Playa Flamingo and Play del Coco. Of the three locations, we’d heard that Flamingo was the craziest. To the contrary, it was perfect. Much more relaxed than Tamarindo and Coco. Less noise, less traffic and fewer 50-something drunks. I guess the bottom line here is that this place is everything as advertised – and more! Also, Maria was great and so easy to contact. We loved staying here and wish we would have booked it for the entire vacation!

Lovely condo, outstanding location, great owners

This location and condo is the hidden gem of Costa Rica! I almost don't want to post this because I don't want others to find this amazing location, Flamingo Beach. This condo unit is very open, spacious, clean, comfortable. It has all of the amenities you need for kids and/or adults. It's a short walk to one of the most beautiful beaches I've been to in Costa Rica, and I've travelled throughout the country. The nearby restaurants are good, the pool is convenient, and you can hike in so many different directions. It's also a short drive from Tamarindo, which is where I went for shopping and a busier scene. As an added bonus, the owners were very helpful with all my questions prior to my visit. And thank goodness, the internet speed was fast too!

Perfect location for a holiday in Costa Rica!

This was a clean, spacious condo with an amazing location and a beautiful ocean view ! Before our journey to Costa Rica ,Maria provided all the details for us so we were prepared to come to Costa Rica with important phone numbers and tips and suggestions for our stay. Walking distance to everything we needed, from grocery store, restaurants and a beautiful resort we had free access to right on the ocean! So you could stay by the pool or lay on the beach by the ocean! With 5 adults, we had plenty of room and enjoyed the opportunity to cook our own meals, especially the delicious Maie Maie we caught deep sea fishing! Or go to the few restaurants available within walking distance. Brian was recommended to use for transportation and he was a real big help with the transportation, tour recommendations and Costa Rica advise! Very knowledgeable man! We will return soon, everything you need for your holiday in one location!

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET...and MORE!

We could not have been more pleased with our stay--the location, the amenities and the view! This condo is FANTASTIC - and exactly as (well, better than) described. It was refreshing to rent a property and find it as reflected in the online pictures and description. Our stay here was absolutely everything we expected. View was amazing, caretaker was excellent, accommodations were beautiful. Everything you need is already in the condo. The condo is a walking distance from restaurants, bar and beaches. If you want a “pura vida” place to relax and enjoy beautiful beach ambiance, this is the place to be!

Had a great stay in Playa Flamingo

My family of four stayed in Maria's condo for a week in July and absolutely loved it! The condo was very clean, in fact the whole complex was very well kept. It was spacious and stocked with plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. Being able to use the resort was a huge plus and the beach was beautiful! Great waves for Boogie Boards which we rented right next to the resort. We used Brian Gonzales for setting up an afternoon Catamaran tour and also for our transportation back to the airport. I would definitely recommend him for tours in this area. I also would recommend Marie's for breakfast and dinner. She makes the best Espresso milk shakes! We also had delicious pizza at Angelina's. As far as food at the resort, we liked their lunches and drinks at the pool but were disappointed in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. We also used the resort for transportation to and from Playa Tamarindo. It's a great beach for surfing and the town is filled with shops, bars and restaurants. If you go there you have to eat at Patagonia Grill! I also recommend Iguana Surf for lessons and renting boards!

Beautiful Condo

We had a wonderful stay at Maria's condo. We had a family of 4 and the condo provided all of the space we needed to relax and unwind from a full day of activities. The two rooms were separated by a family room area with a walk-out balcony that spans from one bedroom to the next...and the view, what can we say...magnificent! We watched the sunrise every morning and took in the breath-taking view. The beds were extremely comfortable and the condo was very clean and modern. It was a beautiful place! The condo was within a 5 minute walk to the resort and beach. We enjoyed all of the amenities of the resort and we were able to take advantage of the pool, pool towels, swim-up bar, restaurant, and family center (where we played pool and relaxed after a long day). The walk from the condo to the resort and beach takes you past three fantastic restaurants (Maria's & Angelina's & The Monkey Bar directly across the street from the condo), a small grocery store (which met a majority of our needs), and gift shops. The Beach was beautiful...We recommend taking long walks down the beach and viewing the beautiful homes. Maria provided a detailed information sheet with recommendations for tours, emergency phone numbers, and a brief lay of the land. ATM's are within a 15 to 20 minute walk just past Marina Bay (2 banks) but I would recommend renting a bike or having your tour operator (if you take advantage of the numerous tours) stop by the Bank. I found BCR Bank dispensed both Colones and USD$. Maria recommended Brian Gonzales as a tour guide; however, Brian was out of the Country during our stay. His friend, Memo @ memoadventures set us up with numerous activities and I highly recommend him. Memo made our adventures very personal (avoided groups) and provided transportation to and from the airport...just a fantastic individual. I highly recommend the Buena Vista Tour to Ricon' (zip lining, water slide, horse-back riding, mud bath/spa, & Tarzan swing)..you won't be disappointed. The condo was everything we wanted it to be from the overall space, views from the balcony, and amenities associated with Flamingo Resort. As this was our first trip to Costa Rica, the location could not have been better! Everyone was so kind and helpful! Although we did not get a chance to meet Amaya (condo contact), she was very responsive to answer any questions or provide help when we needed it. I highly recommend this location and cannot wait to return!

Beautiful stay at Playa Flamingo

The rooms were very spacious and had a perfect location for restaurants that the owner suggested like Angelina's (best mojitios ever) and Marie's. The patio was amazing and huge and was perfect for watching the sunrise and evening storms. The staff was very friendly and the pool on site was very relaxing as well. Thanks for a memorable time.

Beautiful place with amazing views!

Our party of four rented Maria’s condo in Playa Flamingo from March 22-29, 2014. We made all the arrangements online and by phone. Maria provided a wonderful information sheet of the condo, surrounding area, and emergency numbers. She recommended Brian Gonzalez Aguero for transportation and private tours and we endorse her recommendation. The condo is immaculate and situated on the top floor with a picturesque view of the Marina Bay, which is dotted with boats, sailboats, and occasional water skiers. The condo is comfortable and spacious, and the kitchen is adequately stocked with the necessary appliances and utensils for meal preparation. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the balcony with the stunning view of the Marina Bay and the chirping of the birds. The elevator exits at the street level and it is a short walk to the Flamingo Resort and Spa where you have pool and towel privileges as well as access to the beach across the street from the pool. A convenience store, several restaurants and bars, a souvenir shop and an eco friendly clothing store are just down the hill, and the nearest supermarket, Super Compro, is a short bus ride away in Huacas. There is a wonderful restaurant, Coco Loco, within walking distance from the beach that serves fried snapper and delicious seared ahi tuna tacos with wasabi aioli. There are also several restaurants in Tamarindo that are worth mentioning – Patagonia (the Argentinian BBQ grill sampler for 2, which can easily feed 4), Green Papaya (seared ahi tuna tacos with pico de gallo) and Mango Verde (refreshing, naturally-sweetened fruit smoothies). The property manager, Amaya, is accommodating and will try to meet your requests including arranging delivery of fresh seafood (fish, shrimps, lobsters). If you are not there, she will deliver the money to Frank and place your seafood in the refrigerator! We highly recommend Maria’s condo without reservation. Cuatro amigos de California y Canada

Magical

This is our second visit to this condo and we plan to come again next year! It is well maintained and the owners clearly care about ensuring the comfort of guests. The sunrise is spectacular and we love that the balcony is shaded most of the day. The vistas of the bay and mountains are breathtaking and a tall ship sails in every ten days or so, adding to the ambiance. The kitchen is nicely equipped, making cooking fun. We have discovered Frank, who brings fresh seafood right to the condo each week. It is great to have resort privileges - the spa, water gym classes, and the swim up bar! Last year we took ATVs to the top of the mountain and visited Nicaragua and Palo Alto. This year we went to Arenal and the rainforest - all fabulous excursions! My friend, Diane, used the word magical to describe Playa Flamingo - and we wholeheartedly agree. Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us, Maria!

I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START, THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP TO COSTA RICA AND WE HAD PLANNED IT FOR A LONG TIME, I WANT TO SAY FIRST THAT THE OWNER LINDA WAS WONDERFUL IN HER COMMUNICATIONS, SHE ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION THAT I HAD, THE STAFF IN COSTA RICA, RENEE, KIMBLEY AND BRYAN WERE AMAZING. NOW ABOUT THE PROPERTY, IT WAS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED, SPACIOUS, BEAUTIFUL AND THE VIEWS WERE AMAZING.....WE SPENT MOST OF OUR TIME ON THE GIGANTIC BALCONY. SO UNBELIEVABLY PEACEFUL. WE HAD ACCESS TO FLAMINGO RESORT AND FLAMINGO MARINA. THE MONKEY BAR AT THE MARINA WAS SO MUCH FUN, WE MET SO MANY PEOPLE, TICOS AND TRAVELERS. THE STAFF AT BOTH RESORTS AND THE LOCAL RESTAURANTS, (MARIE'S) WERE ABOVE ALL THE BEST AND MOST COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL OF ANY STAFF I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. THE SUNSETS WERE BREATHTAKING AND THIS TRIP HAS CONFIRMED WHAT WE WENT THERE FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE, TO FIND A RETIREMENT LOCATION.....WE FOUND IT IN FLAMINGO BEACH.......THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. What a delight!!

We just came back from our 1 month holiday in Costa Rica and really enjoyed our stay in this condo with a wonderful sea/mountain view. Everything was just as defined in the description. Safe, Clean, and Spacious. We did some trips to other places but at all times we were glad to return to this condo. Access to the resort was splendid as well. Renee and Brian were also verry helpfull with everything. Thank you Maria for renting us your house and we are certainly looking forward to our next visit to to this condo. Pura Vida! Beautiful and Relaxing

We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica, and were very happy that we chose this condo. I had never tried renting a condominium or house in another country, but the owner, Maria, was very nice and answered all of our questions. Renee is the gal who helps you when you arrive, and she was also very friendly. The condo was beautiful and clean, and had a very nice view of the water. It was perfect for us. We didn't even have to use any extra amenities offered by the Flamingo Beach Resort because we had everything we needed right there. It was a great vacation!

Costa Rica Vacation

This condo was everything advertised and more. The property manager was extremely helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty. It beat staying in a resort hands down. This was the best vacation we have ever had and we will be coming back. I would recommend this property to anyone.
