Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Over all the stay was okay .. we were not allowed on the grass .. which was the reason we booked this place .. other than that and some minor issues it’s nice.. the owner was great with communication! Just be aware the front door is up a flight of stairs and the bathroom is up another flight of stairs!.
We had everything we needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay. The house was very well located for the activities we had planned over the time we were there. Christopher, our host, was very responsive whenever contacted.
We were very impressed with property. It was in a good location and came fully stocked with everything we needed. The owner was very accessible. They even sent someone to clean off porches when it snowed overnight. Would definitely stay there again!

Why did you give us a 3 star if you had such a great stay :(
This place is perfect two experience the best of two worlds. It was so convenient to have a 2 block walk to the train station. There was so much to see and all within walking distance. The house was perfect. Completely stocked, felt like home!
DO NOT RENT!!!!!! I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS. Worst experience ever, first of all the house smells terrible, it’s was 13 degrees outside and he told us not to turn temp past 70 degrees. There’s some homeless man that keeps knocking on the door throughout day and night, mind you I’m with my kids!! Oh there is no bathroom downstairs and the one upstairs barely flushes and floods! This man is a scammer!!!! And he makes you leave a 3k deposit so he can say you damaged something. There will be NO PARKING!!!! So you’ll have to park a couple blocks away! Oh and don’t be surprise if the man staying in the basement is in the backyard! Place looks nothing like pics!

Robert, we’re sorry to hear you feel this way, but for transparency to future guests we would like to clarify a few points.
You did not stay for the reservation dates. You arrived briefly on the first day and requested a full refund immediately after arrival, even though there were no issues reported with the property. As explained at the time, refunds cannot be issued simply for changing your mind after check-in.
Additionally, you brought a dog to the property that was not included in the reservation. This was only brought to our attention after it was seen on the exterior camera, which is disclosed in the listing for safety and property monitoring.
Our home has hosted many guests and families without any of the concerns mentioned in this review. We take cleanliness, safety, and guest comfort very seriously and always respond promptly if any real issues arise.
We respect everyone’s opinion, but we encourage future guests to read the many other reviews that reflect the typical experience at our property.
I would love to start off and say Thank you for accommodating our group, I know it can be intimidating when there is a large group. Christopher "The Host" is and was very communicative from the very get, even went as far as trying to help us find a way to Bayonne from JFK. Never had that kind of assistance before, amazing. Made the stay here easy going, relaxed/chill. The City of Bayonne was great for location. The one thing we were kind of sad about, that really helped us choosing this place was the yard, hanging out in the backyard with the setup that was shown in the listing would've been the icing on the cake. Again, communication was there and informed us that there was maintenance happening in the yard, but this eliminated the entire yard to us when we were there for the entire 8 days. We were also not exactly thrilled that our 9 year old found something in the open next to the TV. But I will leave that situation disclosed. Over all location was ideal for traveling into the city, Whether it was Hoboken or heading to Manhattan. Neighborhood was quiet and inviting and host was very much on point with Communication and making us feel welcomed. Can't wait for our next Vacation.
The home is charming and our stay was pleasant. We ran into some issues because we had a group of 6 and there weren't enough plates for everyone. There were only 2 bowls so we went to the close by Walgreens and picked up some disposable bowls. The people in the neighborhood were very friendly and were a great help when we were looking for a place to eat. The only real issue was the parking situation. Christopher said the car parked on the street wouldn't be towed in this neighborhood but the signs and the neighbors said otherwise. We didn't want to take a chance so my husband parked the car at a nearby shopping center during the day then walked back to the house. Not ideal but it beat having to try and get our car back if it was towed or paying a fine. I had really been looking forward to spending some time in the evening in the lovely back yard area but the weather didn't cooperate.
This house was very comforting from the start. Christopher was an excellent host. I recommend anyone to stay here. I will definitely book again.
