About this property
Private Workout Gym and Studio Apartment Historic
In the Historic District of Downtown Yakima, spend your nights in your own Al Capone era boxing club. Created to be a private gym it is done in mahogany and tile.
This experience lets you live for a while in the 1920’s and 30’s when boxing was a national pastime. Neighborhoods and towns competed against each other sending their toughest guys to fight. It was a heady time in America with prohibition, speakeasies, flappers and girls in swim suits that were just about the knees.
The Lund Building is the cornerstone of Yakima’s Historic District, built in 1899 and located at the corner of Yakima Ave. and N. Front St.
It's right in the heart of downtown Yakima with six restaurants, two coffee shops, a wine shop and brewery options all close by. All downtown Yakima has to offer is within walking distance.

Great location in downtown Yakima, in a cool historical building. Walkable to great restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. Easy and prompt communication from host!
Fun spot to experience, the only problem we came across is we were really looking forward to 2 king beds as advertise, and they both were definitely queens.
This is a very unique space that overall inside was comfortable, clean and owner was very responsive to all messages. The shower takes a little scheduling if you go with more than yourself or you and your significant other as while it is very large there is no curtain or door, and a half wall is only thing that separates you from the other bed. This is a very open layout with two beds and one two seat couch which was so comfortable I fell asleep in on our second night. Will rent again in the future.

Had a 3 day stay in this quirky unit. A few things really didn’t pan out as I had hoped unfortunately. Check in was smooth sailing, and parking is easy around the block. This unit is as funky and unique as it seems, and that’s good for quite a few chuckles and a lot of enjoyment. The listing is for two king beds. These are not king beds, they are queens. If you’re with someone tall or large or are just accustomed to sleeping in a king, you will be disappointed. Unfortunately, cleanliness was an issue here. The floor are black padded gym tiles, and walking barefoot will turn the soles of your feet (or socks) gray in a heartbeat. They need a very good mopping. And frankly, a sweep wouldn’t hurt either—we found hair ties, random plastic things, and other detritus on the floor. Kinda gross and we decided to keep our shoes on as much as possible. If you’re staying there, bring flip flops. Be warned, the unit is just across the street from the train tracks. If you’re noise sensitive, bring earplugs and you’ll hear train horns blasting a few times a night. Lastly, the unit lacked some amenities I think are generally standard at a VRBO or the like. There is a small kitchenette and they have coffee cups, plates, cutlery, bowls, etc—but no dish sponge or soap. So… unless you’re going to go buy those, sorta a pointless amenity. We were also surprised upon check in that there was only the roll of toilet paper on the dispenser—not even a courtesy roll.
