The apartment was so cute and well maintained. It was right across the street from by the way where we ended up almost every night. Easily walkable to anything on king street. The staff were amazing and accommodated a late check out and also let us keep our bags in the apartment before our nighttime flight. Only complaint is the couch bed wasn’t very comfortable and didn’t have an extra blanket but other than that the stay was beyond amazing.
Property was as advertised. Steps away from all of the action on King Street. Property was clean and the hosts were very friendly and prompt to reply to any questions I had . Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you to the Guest House Team
We definitely enjoyed our stay!! Everything was in walking distance. Quaint little apartment. Refrigerator super small (dorm size). Would definitely stay there again!!
Our stay was a great experience. The design was adorable with very thoughtful attention to detail. Location close enough to everything that we could easily walk everywhere in downtown Charleston.
The property was super cute and offered just the right amount of space for my husband and I on our extended weekend stay. It was walking (a long walk, but walking) distance from the shopping and eateries on King Street in downtown Charleston. Ubers were extremely easy to come by to get to Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms and Mount Pleasant. The only downside is there are a number of bars/clubs which makes for louder than expected evenings. Honestly the music in the area wouldn't have been a problem at all for us as the bedroom is the furthest from those spots on upper King St. However, the space has 2 rentals below and one next door (upstairs) and the people renting the space used the outdoor space Thursday, Friday & Saturday night at 2 - 3 AM at louder than average volumes. So just a heads up if you are planning on putting someone on the pullout couch - they will get the brunt of the noise from the late night activities.
This is a prime spot for anyone wanting to go out and enjoy the nightlife of Charleston. It's also a quick bike ride down to the city market area. We walked and rode bikes the entire time and it was absolutely ideal. We did take a couple of rideshare's and one of the drivers actually dropped us off and told us that we were in one of the safest areas of Charleston. He said he would have no problem leaving his daughters in that area. There are a ton of great restaurants within walking distance. Now the downside to that is on Saturday night it can get very loud on the street but the hosts provide you with a white noise machine and that helped a lot. The house was perfect for four of us (2 sets of sisters). We didn't mind sharing a bed with one another. Although we didn't use the kitchen to cook we did use it for drinks and coffee in the morning. We love that there was both the Keurig and a regular small coffee pot. Overall it was a great vacation and I highly highly recommend this spot.
Everything about the property was like what we saw on the listing. It was very clean and in a nice neighborhood. The check-in process was so easy. We got to town earlier than the check-in time and text asking to check in early. The staff were quick to respond and allowed us to check in early. I would stay again.
I cut bottom of foot on a needle like object (likely a nail) protruding from floor and discovered a second one in same area; kitchen was without a normal size kitchen and toaster. Broiled bread for toast. Retro microwave matches the retro small dorm frig but had to remove the glass as it never stayed on the plastic circle throwing a filled cup about thereby spilling. Manager provided a second small frig which held more than the rental frig but we were able to store all our food which we were/are grateful. Leg on kitchen chair was loose and care was taken to keep it under the chair. Never got hot water in bathroom sink without waiting twenty minutes (unless a shower was first taken) and flow of sink water was weak. We often used kitchen sink to wash face but waiting for hot water in kitchen was also necessary. Any serious cook would find these dysfunctional issues as tiringat the very least.
Single serve coffee maker did not work,
Bathroom sink clogged had to use the kitchen sink, no one came to fix it.
The transition trim from the hall into the bathroom is not mounted! Tripped over it so many times
Filthy rugs especially the living room, the bedroom rug is curled up right when you walk in and we tripped on that constantly, till we put the end table on it.
Windows dirty and full of paint
Wall in living room paint peeling off the wall
Balcony needs a power wash.
Shades are dry rotted
And the freezer needs defrosting disgusting.
Towels are hard and ruff…
The owners need to sleep there a few days and see how they like it. Hope for some kind of refund.
This charming rental has everything you need for a comfortable and beautiful stay. The attention to detail and decor is fabulous and the whole rental has all the little things that make a stay enjoyable. The bed is comfortable and the updated bathroom and kitchen are so nice. The location is convenient. I highly recommend this rental and will definitely come back!
House was adorable, enjoyed the porch/patio for sitting outside, and location was great for walking all over Charleston, but we are walkers, so it served us well. For others where walking everywhere is not your thing, you can use the bike taxis and/or Uber where you want to go. Close to the bar end scene of King Street so it can be noisy, along with traffic noise especially on weekend nights. If this bothers you, make use of the noise machine provided. Kitchen equipped okay, but no hot pads or toaster. 3 coffee pots, 1 being Keurig, but be sure to bring your own coffee. (We did not even the get the first morning packs as advertised) No basic spices, so if you plan on doing any cooking bring everything you need with. Small dorm size fridge in this unit so don’t plan on keeping a lot of beer or food cold at the same time. Hosts are a bit skimpy on toilet paper provided, they say 2 rolls (we got 1 1/2) which would be fine for a long weekend but when you are there for a week… I feel they should provide you with an appropriate amount based on your length of stay. TP is cheap compared to the price paid per night to stay. King size bed is comfy and looks nice and cozy with 6 over stuffed king size pillows, but not the best pillows for sleeping on. You may want to consider bringing your own pillows, I wish I would have. But overall we enjoyed the house very much and our time in Charleston. We would definitely consider staying here again if we came back.
The apartment was fantastic, clean and plenty of amenities. (I only wish I knew there was a Kerig so I could have brought pods). The bathroom is small but easy to work around if you are there with a friend or spouse. It was nice to have cable as well as streaming options so we could watch the news. One think that was a huge win was the AC! So many times there is AC and you can't put it below 74. Nice to have a cool space to go back to after a hot day! We will be renting again as our son is at CofC- great location (a bit of a walk from campus).
Great place to stay. Can walk to all restaurants. It's on the upper of king so if you are into the bars and night life this is the perfect spot. The management company is awesome! Very attentive. You don't need a car but if you choose to there is parking in the back. Over all I give it 5 stars!!!
Everything was perfect on the week days. Friday night and Saturday night were a little loud with a small but popular club in the neighborhood. We were told that since the club is very small people are lined up outside and only a few can go in at a time. The house was adorable, romantic and perfect for two. We loved it.
Property was very clean, easy to talk to management. The noise level was a huge problem for us, especially without a noise machine. Unfortunately this is just location related being so close to bars
