On Lake Dardanelle, quiet but close to town

Stand alone accommodations on beautiful Lake Dardanelle only 6 miles west of Dardanelle, AR. The hosts residence is on the property, about 75 feet across the driveway. Relaxing front porch on a very quiet area of the shoreline. It is a 400 foot walk (1 minute) down a trail to our dock. You can fish from the dock. The cottage is beautifully decorated with new furnishings and recently remodeled bathroom. Separate bedroom with king size bed. (The garage is used by the host for storage and is not part of the rental). The cottage is equipped with central heat/air, full size stove, utensils/dishes, full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, drip and Keurig coffee makers, linens, hair dryer, iron/ironing board and clothes hangers. Convenient to shopping and restaurants 6 miles away in Dardanelle, Russellville is 18 minutes. Mount Nebo is 3.4 miles away. Mt Nebo, Petit Jean and Mt. Magazine State Parks have lots of opportunities for hiking, biking and outdoor activities. Mount Nebo offers Monument Trails for mountain biking. Lake Dardanelle is just a walk to the shore or 2 miles to the nearest boat launch at Lake Dardanelle State Park., only 0.6 miles off of State Highway 22. Quiet and peaceful area with plenty of room for trailer parking.

Great place to stay. Extremely clean, all the wall switches are labeled for function, easy access & parking. Very quiet - heard nothing but the wind in the trees and the waves lapping on the shore. Very relaxing, especially with the outdoor fire pit (hardwood firewood supplied) on the outdoor patio. We'd definitely stay here again when an escape from the city noise and lights is needed.

This house was in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect size for my husband and I. We went to AR on our motorcycle and this house was in a central location for six scenic routes. Jerry and Amy were very welcoming and made check in/check out very easy. The house was very clean and had all the amenities you could ask for. If we stay in the area again we will check to see if this house is available.

Retreat at Lake Dardanelle

We enjoyed our time at Lakeshore Retreat. It was perfect for the two of us and we had everything we needed. Slept very well in the king size bed and the double recliners were really comfortable. Everything was as advertised and the hosts were exceptional.

The property was perfect for us and was very clean. It is in a pretty area that is surrounded by trees and sounds of nature. The dock makes for a pretty view of the lake as well. Kitchen supplies were enough to make some quick meals and the a/c works really well as we visited in summer. The hosts were very kind and made our trip more enjoyable. Mr. Falleur provided me with helpful information about the area such as kayaking and fishing. They also have a binder that lists different restaurants in the area and places of interest. Communication was great and we enjoyed our stay. Mr. and Mrs. Falleur are great hosts and I highly recommend this property if you plan on staying in that part of Arkansas.

House/cabin is very close to the owner's house, so if that would be a problem for you, then this would not be the place to stay. The owner's did not bother us and the place is a beautiful property, so if you just want a clean, safe place to stay for a few nights, (with a very short walk to the dock) then this is the place for you. Would definitely recommend this property. Prices were very reasonable for the accommodations!

Very nice host. Place was clean. Tucked away in a quiet beautiful wooded lot with a lake view! So relaxing. We went hiking but I could have sat there all day and read a book.

Beautiful home and friendly hosts

We were more than pleased with this clean, quiet, and beautiful location! Our hosts, Jerry and Amy, were welcoming and made us feel right at home. It was smaller than most rentals, but for the two of us it was just the right size. We’ve been renting through VRBO since 2017 and this home didn’t disappoint! Highly recommended!

Another great stay!!!!

I had a great four day stay to do some fishing and take a break on my drive to TN. As usual, Amy and Jerry were awesome. Jerry knows I'm a rookie fisherman so he loaned me some seasonally appropriate lures. I mentioned to them I wrenched my back my 1st day of fishing. So they gave me a heating pad. It was a lifesaver! A great place with awesome hosts! I'll be back in the spring.

Amazing Accommodations

Perfect location overlooking the lake, super clean and very well maintained. Comfortable bedding (comparable to a 5 star hotel), nice walk in shower and kitchen was fully equipped. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this property! Will book here again in the future!

Perfect couple mini vacay...

Short walk to dock was perfect distance. Set the mood for the great fishing experience! We saw all sorts of wildlife while waiting for fish to bite! Deli up the street and Buffett in town were amazing! Also, checked out some shops while in town. And could not have been done without the great advice and guidance from Jerry and Amy!

Clean and close to town

The house was super neat and clean when we arrived! It wasn't quite as private as the listing let on, but we didn't mind. We enjoyed the fire pit outside; even had a deer come out while we were sitting by the fire! House was close proximity to town and all the national parks around!

The perfect blend of Nostalgia and Technology

The moment you open the door, you're "home". Somehow, these lovely people who welcome you with wide-open arms and yet ensure you have all the privacy you could ever possibly want have done the Impossible. Want something that makes you remember how carefree you were as a child and yet have the ease of convenience? This is it. Want to go off the beaten path and yet be just 5 minutes away from shops that provide anything and everything you desire and still be One with Nature? This is it. Want old memories come flooding back as if it happened only yesterday and make new memories? X marks the spot! It is the perfect retreat for the couple looking to get away from it all and yet still be at home. For the business person who has to work all kinds of hours and just wants to relax the moment they stop working. For the young family with a wee one looking to adventure. For the young of age or at heart. You're but 30 seconds from the water and you feel miles away from the world and its annoying static and yet... you have the assurances of lovely hosts who happily offer to do whatever they can to make sure that not only do you not lack for nothing but that you walk away feeling oh, so much lighter. Hyperbolic? Exaggeration? Not even close. I simply cannot find the right words to do this charming cottage that somehow feels "not too big, not too small. Just right". It has all the modern technology with just the right mix of this and that of what Once Was. Marvel at the trendy design of the bathroom while savoring the memory of your grandparents' fridge. Sit outside on the porch and drink in the morning Sun that greets you as you sip from coffee that beats Starbucks hands down. Say goodnight Moon as you slip into your PJs and in one comfy beds and its soft sheets. Or just relax in the comfy sofa recliners with a huge TV that has it all. *Sports fans!! they have every channel you could ever possibly want!! In fact, they have it ALL. No missing your favorite show ;)* This is indeed a rare find and has now, and quite easily so, replaced my long standing number one rental of a long list of retreats. I simply cannot thank Amy enough for her most gracious hospitality. I confess though that there was one regret and it was a biggie. The day we had to leave this little home away from home *sigh*.

This one bedroom was absolutely perfect for my husband and I… for our weekend getaway! It was very clean! And had everything that we needed including a fire pit! We were looking for a place specifically on Lake Dardanelle because my son was in the college bass tournament, but we will definitely return to this place if we get the chance!! The owners were extremely friendly and provided information for area. Beautiful home, great stay!!

My husband (Jerry) and I (Amy) have lived in the Russellville-Paris-Mena area for more than 50 years. We have adventured to many places in the state during this time. We have two adult children and four grand children. Our personal interests include: food, cooking, fishing, hunting, hiking, running, walking, water-falling, site seeing, power-boating, scuba diving, canoeing and kayaking.

Why they chose this property

We were living about an hour West in the town of Charleston, I am a radiation therapist (recently retired) I took a locum tenum job in Russellville during vacation from my normal job in Fort Smith. Subsequently, I decided I would like to take a full time position that was open there. My husband was agreeable as long as we could find a place on the lake or with a very good view. He is an engineer for a company in a nearby community. After looking for a house or property in a number of area communities we discovered this property. We cleared it by hand, contracted the building of the cottage to live in while we sold our Charleston property. As luck would have it our property there sold quickly. We moved to the cottage and started construction of the house we live in now.

What makes this property unique

Our clean and modern cottage is convenient to many of the local attractions. It is a 1 minute walk on the trail to our dock on the lake. It offers a quiet peaceful, very low traffic environment. It is close to the town of Dardanelle (6 miles) & Russellville (7 miles) for restaurants and shopping. It is equipped with DSL/wireless internet and Direct TV (smart TV). It is only 0.6 miles off of State Highway 22 in a quiet and peaceful area with plenty of room for trailer parking. 2 miles from nearest boat ramp. 3.4 miles from Mount Nebo.
