Lake Front Farmhouse Charm in the Adirondacks

Come and enjoy the quiet splendor of Camp Aussie Pines located on Okara Lakes, just three miles from the center of Old Forge, NY. A completely renovated farmhouse style with three floors and open balconies completed in 2021. Be some of the first guests who enjoy the kayaks (without the worry of motorized boats), sitting on the lakefront dock or enjoy the dual fire pits at night with an incredible view of the stars. Then retreat to your beautifully updated camp with cozy gas fireplace and tastefully appointed kitchen. No expense was spared to make our guests feel like they are in their home away from home in the Adirondack Mountains.

Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Beautiful home, nice yard, very quiet neighborhood, and the lake was perfect for kayaking/canoeing. Property manager was great to work with. We would definitely book this home again.

Lake house vacation

The property exceeded our expectations. Beautiful house, excellent property, gorgeous lakefront. We had 5 adults and 3 grandchildren. Home was very comfortable and kid friendly. Bob answered all our questions and went above and beyond for our needs. Highly recommended. Would definitely return.

Amazing house on a beautiful lake

The owners left nothing out. We had everything we needed for a wonderful week on the lake. The property manager was great and always available for questions. We enjoyed drinks on the deck, jumping off the dock, kayaking on the lake, and walks to the beach down the road. The house was a short drive to our chairlift ride up McCauley Mountain, a day at Water Safari and a hike up Bald Mountain. We enjoyed many family dinners and game nights in the beautiful home. It was a perfect stay.

Relaxing Stay in great house

This house was roomy, clean and modern. All the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. The lake is on the smaller side - so you can Kayak all over it - even to the little beach at the end. The water was clear - but near the shore of the property was quite muddy on the bottom and had a few small lily pads. Once you go out a little bit (not far at all) - the water was completely clear and it was great swimming. There were surprisingly few mosquitoes in the evening - so we were able to grill and eat outdoors on the deck overlooking the lake. Bob was very friendly and helpful and responsive. Note that there is a larger road behind the other shore of the lake - so once and a while you hear a motorcycle or truck. During the week it was not that often. We loved our stay here!

Fantastic Time in Thendara!

Our family (7 adults and an infant) had a wonderful week at this gorgeous house. This place is better than the pictures! We had everything we needed and plenty of room for everyone to hang out without being overcrowded. The lake is beautiful and so peaceful. The beach area a short walk down the road was very nice and the kayaks were an added bonus. There was lots of outdoor seating and room for yard games as well. Old Forge is a quick 5 minute drive with D’Orios grocery store stocked with everything you need. Would definitely book again. The property manager gave me a call a few days before our stay and walked through the check in process. He even made sure there was a crockpot in the kitchen! Very responsive to any questions. Note: Most Old Forge rentals require that you bring your garbage to the Transfer station in town. It wasn’t a big hassle. We just took a big load at the end of the week.
