About this property

Le Moulin de Gaudais 4★ - Privatized - Swimming pool - Terrace Guinguette

The Moulin de Gaudais is not a place that you rent. It's a place that you live in.

An old mill from the eighteenth century, classified 4★ Atout France, its stones, its original mechanisms still in place, its open-air terrace that lights up in the evening. Entirely privatized for your group. 3 hours from Paris, Bordeaux or Nantes.

Imagine:
the morning coffee in front of the gears, the big meal around the oak table, the swimming pool lit up in the mild night. This kind of stay that we tell about long after.
Your moments here. On Friday evening, the garlands are lit on the terrace. Glasses go up, conversations go on. No one looks at the time. On Saturday mornings, coffee is taken in the small historic lounge, facing the gears of the mill. Silent, a little out of time. Exactly what we came for. The meal stretches around the large oak table — it holds 16 people, and we always end up not wanting to get up. The kitchen is fully equipped, spices and oils available. It's like at home, only better. The afternoon belongs to everyone. Swimming pool, reading in a deckchair, petanque in the courtyard, nap at the Petit Gaudais. Or nothing at all. In the evening, the façade of the mill lights up, the pool reflects the night. We uncork one more bottle. This kind of evening that we tell about long after. The estate — two buildings, one spiritThe Moulin de Gaudais consists of two independent buildings, fully privatized for your group. No other tenants, no neighbours on the landings. Just you. The main mill
On the ground floor, two bedrooms with their private bathroom and toilet. The large living room of 70 m² — fully equipped open kitchen, large oak table for 16 people, lounge area — opens directly onto the 50 m² terrace with outdoor table and plancha. Going down a few steps, the small historic living room reveals the original mechanisms and millstones of the eighteenth century — still in place, silent witnesses of a living history. Upstairs, two additional bedrooms with their private bathroom and toilet. Le Petit Gaudais
On the other side of the courtyard, Le Petit Gaudais offers its own universe: a cosy bar area, a TV lounge, and upstairs three bedrooms with their private bathrooms and toilets. The ideal space for those who want their own territory in the group — privacy guaranteed for every family or duo.7 bedrooms · 5 private bathrooms · 16 people · Two independent buildingsOutdoor spacesThe 50 m² terrace is the beating heart of evenings at the mill. Outdoor table for 16 guests, plancha, fairy lights — when they light up at dusk, the mill is transformed. That's when all our guests retiennent.La swimming pool, nestled in the secluded garden, offers a private relaxing setting. Heated and secure (approved tarpaulin and safety barrier), it is accessible from mid-May to mid-September depending on the weather. In the evening, its reflections on the water are lit and create a unique atmosphere. The wooded garden, the paved courtyard between the two buildings, and the petanque court complete the outdoor spaces. The Rémilly, a small stream that once fed the mill, winds its way to the bottom of the garden — a place of absolute calm, and a natural vigilance is required with young children near the water. The mechanisms — what makes the Mill uniqueAt the bottom of the main mill, the small historic living room reveals the original eighteenth-century gears and millstones, still in place. This is not a museum — it is your living room for the weekend. A place to read in a low voice, discuss history, or simply let time stop. No other cottage in the Vienne offers this experience. This is what our guests almost always mention in their reviews. Who is this place for? The Moulin de Gaudais is made for groups of adults who are looking to really get together. Family reunions, milestone birthdays, weekends with long-time friends, family reunions. Quiet and warm moments, not parties. We welcome groups that respect the place and the tranquility of the site. Friendly atmosphere welcome. No dance evenings. Discretion outside after 9 p.m. — sound sensors (without audio recording) simply allow us to ensure together that the mill remains what it is: a place of serenity. Your hostYour host is Anthony — the one who grew up at the Moulin de Gaudais. He has known this place stone by stone, since childhood.
