We loved all the space in the house. It let 3 generations and 7 people spread out when needed but also be able to gather when wanted. Loved the chickens that came to visit!! Host response to questions and concerns was immediate.

Beautiful historic home and grounds

Great friends that don’t get to see each other often had a last minute idea to get together and catch up. This property was perfect for that. We grilled, played corn hole, visited and had a superb visit.

Beautiful house and great people!

We had a group of 13 friends from across the country stay here for a night while traveling for a wedding. The house was well kept, and the owners gave us a tour and explained the history of the house. Everyone in our group loved how unique the house was. The owners were super responsive with every question we had. Would definitely come back!

Interesting historical house

We stayed at the house with a couple other families for a 9U football tournament. Our hosts were amazing and very helpful throughout our stay. We had a small plumbing issue that they took care of immediately. The house and property had so much history. We all were accommodated comfortably and the kids had a blast exploring the house. If we’re ever in the area again, we would definitely come back.

One of our best stays yet!

We had a group of 11 fishermen and 6 tournament bass boats. We were initially just happy to find a rental that would accommodate a group of this size. What we ended up with was one of the most fantastic and friendly weeks ever! The house rustic on the outside and is beautiful on the inside. We knew we would need a few air mattresses but the 8 beds were wonderful! Tab and Sarah were wonderful people and shared a great deal of history on the home and property. It was truly amazing. The large ballroom barn was awesome and a great place to hang out as well. Tab even took a few of our braver fellows to a haunted cabin! The beauty and history of this property is unparalleled and the hosts are simply amazing people. We have found our destination in South Pittsburg and will be booking with Tab and Sarah the next time we travel to Nickajack lake!

Character…. But....

This VRBO was not as advertised. -We came to the house at check in time and still had not received any entry instructions and we needed to call to find out if we could enter -The bathroom has two doors and no locks on either door (difficult to have any privacy) -There was no drinkable water on site at all and we needed to boil water to get clean water for coffee and breakfast (thankfully we did get water Sunday afternoon) -The patio was full of tall weeds it looked terrible and there was no fire wood other than someone else’s previous half burnt pieces of wood. -only a couple of patio chairs by the fire pit area so we could not sit outside based on the guests. -The front door handle was broken and falling off -two burners on the stove wouldn’t lite (sparkers did not work) and the other side would keep going for 5 minutes no matter what we did until we unplugged the stove. So many little things… like wasp nests at the piano door and lights fixtures with only 1 bulb working in rooms … to broken glass on the floor in kitchen which was found in a foot, front patio furniture covered in cobwebs and dirt which we needed to clean before we could use. It basically felt like they were not prepared for us to be in their place. Not at all worth what we spent on it.

We’ve been expecting this review since the guest insinuated she would write us a bad review if we didn’t give her a refund. I forwarded her threat to our cleaning staff and they said it was all exaggerated and not true. We decided not to succumb to her extortion.

Fantastic house

We had a group of 12 guys getting away on a golf trip to Sweetens Cove. The house was bigger than expected and super comfortable. We are a small family owned business that lives behind the property. Our business was in Ketchikan Alaska in the summers and our winter home was Tennessee until Covid hit and rocked our world, along with everyone else's. We had purchased the old farm next door before Covid hit and were told it was a tear down. Well, with lots of additional time due to the shutdown of Alaska tourism, we decided to bring the old home back to her former glory. It's been a labor of love and we are proud of her transformation.

What makes this property unique

We've also got 136 acres of private hiking trails and offer guided ATV tours on the property. We also offer a unique mountain breakfast for an additional charge.
