Stay at Orange Beach
This property is perfect for a group of friends, college-aged individuals, or older families. The property is a bit more run down than indicated in the pictures, with several things beat up (such as the basement stair railing, the wall of the kitchen, smudges in the paint) and I don't think it would be great for young children. But, overall it is a gorgeous house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property is private and away from neighbors including a private dock area, outdoor fire place, a kayak and paddle board, and a beautiful patio. Really perfect for a spring break getaway, short summer stay, or any other vacation need.

Great house for casual lake hang
This house is older and built without passing a stringent permit process, so it has some odd little things— like the 4’ head clearance going down the stairs into the basement. The spaces are not grand or commodious if you’re used to luxury, but they work. And this place matches my style/values better than any other house on lake Anna. The one thing that really ought to be fixed was the first floor bed. The center support is broken and the head is lower than the foot. Previous reviewers had mentioned that the beds were terribly uncomfortable— I think this is where that gripe comes from. It would have been unsleepable, but we built temporary supports out of books. Then it worked fine. I will probably return to this house again!

Sand, Spiders, Skinks and Mouse in the house, never again
My family was invited to this house by our friends in 2021 and I had instantly fallen in love with the place. And hence we visited again this time only to experience unfortunate events. The house hasn't been cleaned well to begin with. There was list of items we found to be poor, begin with floors that were very dusty/sandy upon entry. The glass top on the electric stove was broken (which we informed to VACASA on day 1). Inside the house were cobwebs, too many cobwebs. This house has 2 decks, one on main level and one on the lower (or basement) level. Both decks were practically un-usable. Large amount of spiders on the decks and spider/cob-webs. Given the warm weather, we would love to sit on the deck and the only way to enjoy the decks were for my family and me to spend time cleaning and then using the deck. The lower level deck has hammock swings which were utterly dirty and again, filled with spider webs. It is impossible to survive out on the deck for even 30 seconds unless you bath yourself in deet. Outdoor decks are practically useless. The property has a small artificial beach with lounging chairs and fire-pit. The plastic lounging chairs again were super dirty with cobwebs and bird poop all over on pretty much all 4 chairs. The beach area was un-usable as large fire-ants called it a home. Let's talk about indoors, besides being dusty/sandy floor, my husband found skinks inside the house. I have herpetophobia, and my husband was successful in getting the skinks out before I saw them. Lastly, the night prior to us checking out, my husband and I saw a mouse run across in the living room. I was very saddened to see a beautiful house and good views in such a state. In-spite of paying additional service charge for cleaning the house is not clean and is not pest free. It certainly needs pest control and better cleaning. For the price one can find significantly cleaner homes near any lake.

Lots of Potential
This house has lots of potential but has a way to go. Several pieces of furniture and a mattress were very stained. The refrigerator did not work well, we had to keep ice in it. The basement felt musty and the ceiling to the basement was VERY low. There is also a weird door that is not painted that we weren't sure where it lead to. There are electric cords in closets and several outlets that did not work (including the bath upstairs). There is no large frypan and there are very few glasses and teaspoons. If they say they can sleep 9 people there should be enough glasses, etc. The stovetop has a huge crack across the top. It worked but kinda scary to cook on it. There is only one dish towel and no large fry pan. We had a good time and the view was gorgeous, but want people to know what we encountered. Not impressed with Vacasa. Hard to communicate with. The early/late checkout is handled poorly. Oh and the code we were provided did not work. Took 30 mins to get in.

Disappointed
It is a beautiful setting and I could tell a lot of updating has taken place, particularly on the inside, but it wasn’t a good experience. All large beds proved to be very uncomfortable. One couple left early. No one slept well. The electrical wiring appears to need a professional electrician. One outside light does not turn off. It’s switch must be replaced or rewired. There is a loose wired dual outlet on the bottom shelf of the kitchen island. The stairway to the bottom floor at one point is only about 5 feet high. The last stair is about 4 inches. This suggests to me the house is a DIY that wasn’t thought through or built properly. An exterior door to a storage room on the lower deck appears to have rotted off. The outside is safe but dirty. There is a lot of junk stored out back (tires, gas’s cans, old skidoos, trailers and much more). Understandably the trees make the decks dirty but I’d recommend the wash it down before renters arrive. It appears they’ve put a lot of money into rehabbing this house with the inside generally very clean and in good shape. But they have a long way to go.
