The Historic Blue House is a beautifully preserved historic home located in one of Sioux Falls’ most charming central neighborhoods, just minutes from Downtown, Sanford, and Avera. Full of original woodwork and period character, this multi-level home offers a warm and inviting layout with a full kitchen, dining area, and comfortable living room on the main floor. Upstairs you’ll find two queen bedrooms and a twin bedroom along with a full bathroom, while the basement provides a second living space, a dedicated workspace, laundry with supplies, and an unfinished half bath that serves as a convenient additional rest area. This thoughtful setup makes it ideal for families, couples traveling together, downtown visitors, and mid-term stays.

Outside, enjoy a large elevated deck with a grill and seasonal seating overlooking the spacious backyard, a fire pit for evening gatherings, and a welcoming front porch perfect for morning coffee. The home is dog friendly for up to two dogs ($50 per pet, per stay); however, the yard is not fenced and pets must be leashed and supervised. A long single-width driveway provides off-street parking, and a small dog kennel behind the inaccessible garage may be used briefly for small dogs. Entry is through the back door and stairs are required both to enter the home and access the upper and lower levels. We loved our stay here with our 2 kids and their grandma! The yard is just big and private enough to spend tike outside and the house had plenty of room for everyone!

We came to meet some family for Christmas. This place is wonderful. The host was so great in communication! The place was so much better than described and in the pictures. We travel with a pet and it was a beautiful backyard. We will be renting again!

The house is very nice, comfortable furniture and beds. I was a little put off because they ask that pets not be allowed in the bedrooms and the yard isn’t completely fenced in, so that seems not so pet friendly to me. But otherwise a nice stay.

I highly recommend this lovely house to anyone seeking peace and tranquility. Abby is so easy to communicate with as she was always quick to respond and very kind. The beds are so comfortable and the entire house is well stocked! I can’t say enough good things! I will absolutely stay again next time around this area!

We stayed with our adult children and two dogs over Thanksgiving so we could visit family. It was a beautiful home with a nice yard. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was room for us to comfortably hang out. The home was beautiful and very clean.

Cute historic home

The house was so cute with the built-in, historic features. It was very close to Augustana, which was our reason for visiting. There were a couple of things that anybody renting should be aware of - they do not allow dogs in the bedrooms and the check out time is earlier than expected at 10 AM. Other than that, it was a good stay.
