Tom is a thoughtful host. The property was perfect for our weekend getaway and stocked with great amenities like snacks, drinks, and toiletries. Would recommend for anyone who wants to be near Asheville but feel like you’re in the mountains.

Thomas is a wonderful host, a really nice guy and made us feel right at home. The kitchen was stocked with pastries, fruit, drinks, snacks, orange juice, coffee etc. we really enjoyed our stay in the green oasis/ escape in the mountains and hope to return.

From the moment we met, I realized that these guests were "top shelf", friendly, engaging, caring and proactive. A joy to converse when we first met and I even felt a twinge of "emptiness" when they departed. Talk about taking care of Green Escape? It was as clean and tidy as when they first arrived. If the rating scale was unlimited, 10 out of 10 could easily be 100. My best to friends newfound!

Would recommend the host goes out of his way to make sure you have what you need. The bed is so comfortable and he makes sure you have everything you need. He even sticks the fridge for you. I love how plants are everywhere. It doesn’t feel like staying at a sterile hotel or renal it is like coming home.

Thanks for the kind review. Living plants and fresh cut flowers breathe life into what could be a boxed four walls. I'm a horticulturist by trade and don't hold back on their use both indoors and out. Even in the winter months you'll find outdoor displays of evergreen and flowering plants that tolerate winter's chill. Outdoors, I use plants to add color, texture and ambiance. Consciously, you may not realize, but the display eases your mind, relaxes your senses and transforms you. Sitting on the covered porch, you'll enjoy the visual display and hear the deep-toned wind chimes echo your stress away as you focus on the Zen surrounding. Green Escape is more than accommodations~~

Tom couldn't have been a better host. His place was clean, quiet, and tucked back into the woods. My friend enjoyed multiple outdoor showers a day and I am grateful for the chats I had with Tom. I will definitely be back and look forward to staying with Tom again.

Thanks for mentioning the outdoor shower. I've been blessed with having an outdoor shower for the last 27 years at three different homes, Escondido, California, Kalaheo, Kauai and here in Asheville. What an exhilarating experience to shower with nothing above you except the shower head and open sky. Whether to rinse off before and/or after the hot tub or to actually take a shower amongst the tall stately tree canopy, don't miss this opportunity. Tucked away around the corner of the house, I've also privatized its location with additional screening along the property fence line. It's a seasonal hot shower, even in winter months when temps are above freezing at night. Enjoy the ride and stay frosty!

We had a nice stay at the Green House! The house was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The rooms and kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, which made our stay very convenient and enjoyable.The location was also great for exploring Asheville area. The house was in a peaceful setting, and we really appreciated how comfortable and relaxing it was after a day of sightseeing.The owners, who live upstairs, had a nice welcome and were very friendly, responsive, and willing to help whenever we needed anything.Overall, we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay

I stayed here with my husband and our 15-year-old. We all thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. It felt very homey. The location is very convenient for visiting spots all around the area. It’s quiet and it feels like you are somewhere really private. Tom is a wonderful host and it is a wonderful place to say. I highly recommend staying here.

Perfect location within Asheville. Beautiful, clean oasis in the woods filled with all the amenities you could ever need. We enjoyed the snacks, fresh fruit and danishes/muffins upon our arrival. Great communication throughout the process. We will be back.

Thank you for sharing your impressions of Green Escape. Prepping Green Escape for new arrivals is time consuming and yet a pleasure as the "chore" is actually play for me. As I set up for last weekend's guests, my thoughts were already on the upcoming fall transition. I'll soon be digging out the fall decor, purchasing flowering mums, pumpkins, squash and gourds. Towards the middle of October, my guests are able to take home any of my outdoor planters to care and enjoy them indoors as they may. It's a great upcoming time of year and its guests such as yourself that make all this possible. Thank you again ~~

This VRBO rental was the best I've ever experienced! Tom was prompt with texts and "inbox" responses prior to the trip. He was there when we arrived and showed us around the house and property. His instructions were clear. There were snacks available and the refrigerator had condiments and many items we might want. The grounds around the place are beautiful! We used the hot tub a couple times. Loved this experience just outside of Asheville.

We loved staying here. The place was clean, and it is decorated in a way that brought us joy as soon as we arrived. It's great that it has two bedrooms - and a hot tub, which we enjoyed. We appreciated the snacks and breakfast items from Tom.

I consider myself a spatial designer and arrange colorful items that result in being pleasing to the eye. The deep tonal wind chimes soothes the ear. The essential oil diffuser and seasonal plants whiff subtle fragrance. That leaves taste, I offer an assortment of baked goods for that early morning snack. This is a beautifully created getaway. Tom has quite a landscaping talent and clearly works hard creating a lush garden, and thinking of creature comforts for the lodging. Stayed there for nearly a week. When there was something I needed Tom responded quickly. Hope to get a chance to return soon!

I just finished setting up the final touches for today's check-in. I'm like a kid in the candy store as I prepare the pastry garnishes and stock the fridge and snack bar. Collecting and arranging the fresh flowers brings back pleasant memories of my former career as a florist. One final check on cleanliness and a last- minute vacuum completes the inside and then I set up the lighting to welcome the guests later in the day. On average, I doddle an hour or more as I slowly do these final checks and all the while, think of the reaction I'm trying to elicit from guests. Thank you for recognizing what I do and try to provide you.

Our stay in Asheville was wonderful. Our host thought of everything and more! The kitchen was filled with snacks and we really appreciated that. Everything was clean with comfortable beds. And the icing on the cake was the hot tub. We loved the beautiful flowers on the property. It's obvious that our host loves being a host and he was wonderful to meet!

Green Escape offers varying views throughout the year, from distant mountain, shade dappled woodland, snow draped canopy, and star filled open sky. That's nature's contribution, then add the greenery and colors of a myriad of potted tropical and flowering annuals and perennials. It's my horticultural delight set up for both of us to enjoy. With every reservation, I purchase something green and/or colorful to grace the outer decks in the growing season or the apartment itself when weather dictates. Breath it in my friends!

Thanks for the glowing review. Guests give me the opportunity to play with design, color and texture when setting up the fresh flowers, potted indoor plants and seasonal outdoor flowers. Valentine's Day is especially fun to set up as I add those extra touches of chocolate, roses, and bubbly. As the outdoor wakes up from this colder than normal winter, already the crocus and a few daffodils are blooming and shopping for colorful new flowering plants has begun. Tom is a fantastic and kind host. He truly goes above and beyond to accommodate his guests and ensure a pleasant stay. His spot is tucked back in a quiet, wooded neighborhood about 20 minutes from Biltmore, downtown and the River Arts district. Also not far from the arboretum and he was kind enough to let us use his pass to visit. His home, plants and decorating style remind me so much of my beloved late grandmother’s home, so it was very nostalgic for our stay last weekend. Thanks for everything, Tom!
