L'impasse du Temple provides a perfect basis for any type of holiday. Close enough to main towns and cities for transport links or shopping trips, near enough to the mountains for a day's skiing, and well positioned for day trips to the Mediterranean Sea, Spain and Andorra. The active holiday maker is spoilt for choice. This area is criss crossed with bike paths from gentle tracks to demanding hill and mountain climbs. Walkers can follow GR routes, and the St Jacques de Compostelle paths. Other activities in the vicinity include horse riding, bike hire, tennis courts, ultra light flights, sailing, go-karting, fishing, mountain climbing and abseiling, rope climbing courses, yoga classes and photography courses.
For those who wish to take life at a gentler pace many of the walks from the village allows one to wander rather than set a marching pace. Stroll along the tree lined road passed the Chateau de Léran, or along the river. Don't feel any guilt about being indolent. That holiday read beckons. Choose a spot by the pool and enjoy. For the history buffs, you are in Cathar country. Mont Segur can be seen from the road into the village. Short but scenic drives can help you discover that chateau as well as Roquefixade, Foix and Puivert with their associated museums. There are some notable churches as well. The Grotte de Niaux is probably the best known cave in this area but it is one of many that are open to visitors as is the underground river system at LaBouiche. The Prehistoric Park is full of interest for both children and adults alike, and there is a restaurant and picnic area provided.
