The owner didn't tell me it was in a gravel pit. Fortunately his friend let me park my boat in his shop, which made it a pleasant stay.

I am sorry to hear of the inconvenience this may have caused. Typically there is minimal traffic through the yard. I was as shocked as you were. I had hoped with allowing you the use of my shop for you to tinker in your boat for hours would have been worth more then a 2 star review.
