Summary:
Welcome to Hilltop Cottage! Conveniently located near downtown, soccer fields, river walk, dining, shopping, and more. Stay at home and enjoy the front porch swing or relax on the back porch with a cup of coffee. High speed internet and 50" 4k tv for movies or work from home.

The Space:
You'll love the large private back porch. It's great for relaxing, hanging out and watching the sun set. The front porch offers a swing and has over 30 steps leading down to road. It really is on a hill! Don't worry though, you won't have to climb those steps unless you really want to! Access to the house only requires a few steps. It's also a great neighborhood to walk and see historic homes nearby.
Inside you will find original hard wood floors, furnished kitchen, a desk space for working, black out curtains, and stylish decor. The most common comment about the house is, "It's so cute!" Everyone falls in love with it, and I think you will too!

The Neighborhood:
The neighborhood is a mix of old and new. Some homes are in need of repair and don't look the greatest, but is a safe neighborhood to walk and view the older homes nearby. We also have some of the nicest neighbors you could ask for, so be sure to say hello!

Parking in rear of house 3 car max. No parking in front of house.

The house is absolutely adorable and Karen was an amazing host. We had everything we needed for our weekend - fresh linens, towels, and even cinnamon rolls from a local bakery. Couldn't ask for a better stay!

Great Little Cottage

The hilltop cottage was perfect for our stay. It is very well-maintained and cute. Our host was fantastic and made us feel right at home. Communication with her was quick and easy. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Adorable cottage

The cottage is nestled in a beautiful neighborhood of huge trees, beautiful foliage and wonderful older homes of all styles and ages. The cottage is super cute inside and out and the owner provides everything you could possibly need! Did I mention the fresh baked cinnamon rolls?! Can’t wait to visit again.

Felt like home away from home.

We had a wonderful stay. We got out for just a bit to check out the Market Street Festival and then came right back to the cottage. It’s so homey! We didn’t know it at the time of booking but Hilltop was exactly what my wife and I needed to rest and recharge. It was so peaceful. Felt like home away from home.

Fall trip to Hilltop Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Hilltop Cottage. The house was the perfect size for the two of us. It is tastefully decorated, very clean and the porches provide opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. We also enjoyed taking morning walks in the neighborhood. The host provided timely information and the house had good instructions to opetate everything.

Great location

We were in Columbus MS visiting family and this home was the perfect size for my family of 4 in a great location near everything. There are 2 beds and my kids are able to share a bed so it worked out perfectly. The area was safe and the house was clean. The owner was quick to communicate. Very happy with it overall and will stay there for future trips. Thank you, Guy

Long weekend visit

We were in town to visit our daughter in college. The house was just as described and pictured in the listing. Everything was immaculately clean. There was even a pan of fresh cinnamon rolls from the local bakery waiting for us on the counter with a personal note! We used the Keurig every morning. The water pressure in the shower was amazing. Bed was very comfortable and extra blankets available. The front and back porches were nice spots to sit. The house was situated nicely between downtown/campus and what I refer to as the business loop (Walmart, Starbucks, Cracker Barrel etc). Definitely someplace we would stay again. Thanks for sharing this sweet Southern cottage!

Why they chose this property

It's a great location and close to so much. It has original hardwood floors and a great front and back porch to hang out on. It super cute and I think you will love it! Some of the neighboring homes are in need of repair and don't look the best. The view from the front unfortunately is not the greatest, but we hope to purchase and renovate nearby homes. Several are already being renovated. Even though some homes don't look the best, we've never had any issues. It's a great little neighborhood! We also have the nicest neighbors that you could ever have and are always welcoming to our guests.
