The cabin is very cute and comfortable. It was a short stay so we didn't have time to fill the hot tub, or have any fires inside or out, but for a longer stay this place has a lot of cool stuff. We ate out for all of our meals, but the kitchen was fully stocked and there is a gas grill if you like to cook. We did really enjoy the beautiful gas stove in the master bedroom, and the 2 head shower is a nice touch after a long day of hiking. We weren't there much during daylight hours, but I imagine the view would be stellar on a clear day. The neighborhood is quiet and secluded, yet only a 30 minute drive to Bryson City. The starlink was plenty fast to stream TV and connect our phones (essential since cell service is non-existent). Any little thing you could possibly think of has already been addressed by the hosts. There are notes everywhere with instructions for everything. That was much appreciated since we didn't have a lot of extra time to be figuring stuff out. It was a great weekend!

A great getaway

This property was great! It was so homey, and the master suite is excellent. I wasn't sure how to set up the hot tub, but Tom and Faye had excellent instructions and texted back right away when I had a question. My daughter and I stayed her for a weekend getaway, and it was lovely. The driveway is steep and narrow, so I definitely recommend arriving during the day for your first visit. A great cozy cabin!

Super comfy

This secluded cabin is very well appointed and in a great location. It's near enough to Robinsville for groceries and a short trip to many of the areas of interest. The owners were great with communicating what was open to the area since my trip was shortly after Hurricane Helene. I can understand trepidation about the driveway, but three lowered cars navigated it with little trouble. An aggressive front lip might not fare as well. In all, it was an enjoyable stay

Pleasant cabin, good location

2 couples enjoyed a week in this cabin. We found the location to be convenient - within 45 minutes of Fontana Dam, Bryson City, Joyce Kilmer Forest, etc. (remember it’s mountain driving). Cabin itself is isolated, and quiet. Owners provide clear instructions about what they do and don’t provide - take note! We appreciated the firewood and bird seed, little touches that made things pleasant.

Very nice

All things about the house were great. It was clean and well cared for. It was lovely on site, lots of greenery, wildlife, and not much people activity. The road to the house is very steep, but the owner give very specific instructions on how best to negotiate it. Overall very nice

Horrible owners

Here’s my honest review. We enjoyed the property. The view was amazing. The furnitures including beds and other appliances needs update. My dog had a throw up accident on king size bed. I hand washed it so that the chunks of vomit would not be in the washing machine. I was trying to be considerate. I paid a lot of money for the pet fee. I put it in the garage for janitorial service to clean. We have never used the washer and dryer. I cleaned up the place for them with Lysol wipes and followed every directions they gave me. When we left, the owners blamed us for breaking the dryer. They texted me with exclamation points. The last group, it worked for them. The washer and dryer needs an update anyway because it looks really old. Just never had an opportunity to use them. Eventually, all washers and dryers will go out. They took half of my deposit but have not received it yet (it’s been a week so far). They must of took the whole thing. Here’s the question for you to decide on this place. Do you really want to take a risk to get blamed on from owners about these old furnitures and appliances that needs an update? You probably won’t get your security deposit back if that’s the case.

We had the most amazing weekend at The Pines Cabin! We were so excited driving all the way up and felt like we were on top of the world up there. Tom and Faye were so wonderful and responsive to any messages we had, and we spent every spare moment in the hot tub! The master suite was my favorite spot and loved the comfort of the big bed with the stove nearby.

Truly - a mountain get away!

Put away your devices and get to know one another (and yourself) in the comfort of this cabin. The area is beautiful, the hot tub relaxing as is the home. If it is seclusion you are seeking - this is perfect for you. Currently, you cannot have an outside fire due to the area laws. I’m not wild about the platform that VRBO uses, but the platform does not interfere with the quality of one’s stay.

Lovely cabin with full and well equipped kitchen. I stayed here for Miatas at the Gap wand was able to drive my lowered Miata to the cabin. If you have a lowered vehicle, make sure you arrive in the day light so you can navigate around obstacles that may have fallen on the road to the cabin.

We love this area and this cabin is our favorite place in the whole world. It is our home away from home and we care very deeply about it! We want you to enjoy it as much as we do, so please be kind to our property when you stay here! We live in Alabama and it takes us 5 hours to get to this cabin from home. We ride motorcycles to the property. The drive up to the cabin is steep and our parking areas are packed gravel and the turnaround space cannot accommodate trailers greater than 10 ft.

Why they chose this property

Easy access, (but NO trailers longer than 10 ft.) endless year round recreational activities, great value. In 2002 Forbe's magazine described the area as one of the best vacation values in the US . In 2016 TripAdvisor touted the area among the best little mountain retreats in the US.

What makes this property unique

Private, Quiet, Complete, Essential Services are Nearby. Unlimited outdoor recreational opportunities. The property and the subdivision cannot accommodate long trailers.
