Thank you for having us! My eight year old twins loved the home. Very modern and homey. Great place to get away, very centralized to Poconos area. Quiet neighborhood.
Charming place and kind host, but some surprisesThe host was very kind and responsive, and the house is charming. However, the fireplace — featured in the main photos and a key reason we booked — was initially not allowed to be used, then briefly allowed, discouraged again, and finally permitted with caution after we explained we would otherwise leave. The mixed messaging made this confusing and stressful.Access to the house also required a third-party app that didn’t work with our booking platform, so entry had to be handled manually. While the host helped quickly, the process was inconvenient.Overall, a lovely idea and location, but clearer communication — especially about the fireplace — would greatly improve the experience.
ARTRAGEOUS WAS AN OVERALL GREAT STAY AND TRULY CAME THROUGH FOR US WHEN THE UNEXPECTED HIT. WE GOT STUCK/STRANDED ON THE MAIN STREETS DUE TO SURPRISE SNOW ISSUES, AND THEY GRACIOUSLY ALLOWED A LATE CHECKOUT, WHICH MADE A STRESSFUL SITUATION SO MUCH EASIER TO MANAGE. THAT FLEXIBILITY ALONE EARNED MAJOR POINTS.THE HOUSE ITSELF IS VERY CUTE AND THOUGHTFULLY SET UP—PERFECT FOR A SMALL GROUP. AS AN ARTIST, I ESPECIALLY LOVED THE ABUNDANCE OF GAMES AND ART SUPPLIES; IT FELT INTENTIONAL AND CREATIVELY INVITING IN A WAY YOU DON’T ALWAYS FIND IN RENTALS. RESPONSIVENESS FROM THE HOSTS WAS PRETTY GOOD, AND COMMUNICATION WAS CLEAR THROUGHOUT OUR STAY.A COUPLE SMALL SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE GUESTS AND HOSTS ALIKE: HAVING A SHOVEL ON HAND AND A FEW SPACE HEATERS WOULD BE GREAT FOR BEING PREPARED FOR UNEXPECTED WEATHER. ALSO, IF YOU’RE NOT FROM THE AREA, MOST THINGS TO DO ARE ABOUT 30 MINUTES AWAY “DOWN THE HILL,” AND AFTER MY THIRD TIME IN THIS COMMUNITY, I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY THE CHECK-IN PROCESS WILL ALWAYS HAVE A LINE—SO ANTICIPATE THAT.LASTLY, IF YOU’RE NOT SURE YOUR CAR CAN HANDLE SLOW, SNOWY CONDITIONS, YOU MAY WANT TO WAIT UNTIL SPRING…SUMMER (YES, THE ONE-WORD PUN IS INTENTIONAL ) TO VISIT. ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, THIS WAS A GREAT STAY WITH CHARM, CREATIVITY, AND THOUGHTFUL FLEXIBILITY—I’D ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND IT WITH A LITTLE PLANNING AHEAD.
