The room was very clean and the whole property was clean. Very unique property and much more inviting than a hotel. Highly recommend to anyone traveling to the area
Rachel was an excellent host. Loved the ambience of the hotel with its rich history. Our room was very accommodating, comfortable and had very good lighting within. We enjoyed the Saturday night music. Rachel an excellent breakfast also. We took our dog and she was very well received.

It's always a pleasure to host gracious and grateful guests. And I learned about a great new restaurant! Gratefully, Rachel
Rachel and her Aunt were so accomodating and welcoming. The lobby of the inn is so charming and so many little extras on the property such as bath salts, robes, chocolates, coffee bar, fruit, pasteries, and on and on. The Inn being pet friendly is why we were there but it exceeded our expectations. Sheeba and our dog Oakley played and played. We highly recommend this historic inn.
This was the perfect place to stay for our concert trip to The Caverns. The hostess was attuned to our needs and responded quickly to our texts. We could not have asked for better accommodations or expected a more friendly stay. We look forward to experiencing Cowan, TN, again in the near future.
My son and I were charmed by Rachel and her 105 year-old Aunt Polly. The inn is warmed by antique furniture and adorned by Rachel's lovely artwork. The location is convenient to Sewanee (albeit requiring the 3 mile winding drive down the mountain) and set in the middle of cute and quaint Cowan. It is worth the visit.
We really enjoyed staying at the Franklin House! It was comfortable, room was private, breakfast was very fresh and delicious, and Rachel was an excellent host.Cowan is a quiet railroad town - the railroad museum was very nice; John gave us an excellent tour. We enjoyed exploring both Sewanee and Winchester nearby. All in all, a relaxing, comfortable weekend visit - Thanks Rachel!
