In the immediate vicinity of the apartment (5 min. Walk) you will find the spa 'Hot chunks' and the entrances to the curative climate and trekking paths (peat, chunks), very well signposted.
In summer there is the possibility in the forest pool Okerteich (admission free) in Altenau bathe (shallow parts and catering available).
For climbing there is the Marie wall at the Okertal.
Paddling and whitewater rafting are available on the Oker, in the immediate vicinity.
Altenau is a great starting point for bikers, hikers, bikers and walkers.

The old imperial city of Goslar (about 20km) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well worth a visit in summer and winter, the Christmas Market of Goslar is one of the most beautiful in Germany and enjoys great popularity with its visitors.

Cross country ski, starting in Altenau at the Rose and the ski lift and the sledding hill at the Rose and the healthy climate of winter hiking trails, a central and ringing within walking distance. Also the network of trails in Sonneberg, Braunlage and St. Andreasberg there are short distances by car. The journeys go there are always very well cleared out.

A halls - swimming pool with sauna and all major food discounters are in Clausthal Zellerfeld, in about 8km distance.
