This house had everything we needed and then some. Everything was as described and the tea and coffee were a great touch. Location was desirable for walking to downtown. Property owner’s communication was excellent and responsive. We would stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay in Grand Junction. The house was clean, nice and comfortable. It was just a short walk to downtown where we found some great restaurants. I would stay there again if we go back.

Property is beautiful and perfectly situated near downtown. Unfortunately, some of the neighboring properties and tenants were a little sketchy, but nothing threatening. Overall, nice stay.

After spending several nights in hotels on our ten day vacation The Abbott House was a breath of fresh air. It felt like home walking inside. We were delighted to find a booster seat for the dining chairs and a kids area with bean bags and books. We were able to walk down town for food and events. We would definitely recommend staying here.
We loved the house. We slept very well and enjoyed the full kitchen. The Heater is loud but we are just not used to central heating at home. Location seems like an up and coming neighborhood. Hopefully it is.

We're glad you enjoyed the place. Thank you for choosing us for your stay. Please come back again!
Really enjoyable experience. Owner was very communicative, we knew exactly what to do to check in and check out. Home is located within walking distance to old town Grand Junction and within driving distance to National Monument and restaurants, etc in the newer part of town. Love the decor in the house! It was a little tough for all 4 of us to be watching TV because the couch didn’t fit all of us and the other chair wasn’t the most comfortable but it’s not the main reason you vacation so we made it work. Neighborhood is a little rough and run down around the house itself.
These would be my only complaints but not enough to not come back and stay again in the future. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Thanks for the review and feedback! We're actually adding a chair that matches the sofa, so hopefully that will make the TV area more comfortable. As far as we've experienced and despite its appearance, the immediate neighborhood is safe. None of our guests have had any issues thus far. Hope you'll come back again!
This home was perfect for our small family to keep our routines going while on holiday. We enjoyed the decor and the thoughtfulness put into the comforts of home. They even provided a booster seat, which made mealtimes easier and home-like for our young child with special needs. We walked each day to the nearby downtown area to get pizza, coffee, and other provisions. Super fun and comfortable.

My wife and I stayed here with our 4 young children, and it was wonderful. The cute historic home reminded us of times gone complete with a record player and retro gaming system while still supplying modern amenities to keep us comfortable. We and our children loved it, and it was only three blocks from Main Street, allowing us to walk to eat bagels in the morning and explore the many cute stores of the area.

We love Erin's place!! It was so cute and well put together, the most stocked and prepared place I've ever stayed in! Loved the history of the house but the modern flare that was added! The location was perfect and made it so easy getting literally anywhere in town! My whole family enjoyed our stay and we hope to be able to come back and stay again someday!

Why they chose this property
The Abbott House is fully revived 1915 cottage, right in downtown Grand Junction. It has beautiful features like original floors and windows give the house so much life and character. How did we get the name "The Abbott House"? Dalton Trumbo was an acclaimed albeit controversial writer, screenwriter, academy-award winner, and political figure in the early 1900's. He was born in Montrose, CO and spent much of his childhood in Grand Junction. One of his novels is called Eclipse; the main character of that book is named John Abbott.
What makes this property unique
- Proximity to downtown Main Street - only 3 blocks away! - Two separate ensuite bathrooms - one in the master and one in the other bedroom; this is great for couples, parents with kids, and friend groups. - Kids lounge with games, puzzles, and dedicated TV. - Ability to sleep 6 people easily in beds. - 400 mbps Wi-Fi - great for streaming, gaming, Zoom calls, and everyday internet usage. -YouTubeTV included on both TVs. - Modern, natural design in a 1915 revived cottage. - Central air conditioning.
