We loved our stay at this property. Quiet neighborhood, easy access to the property, and the owner was wonderful as far as the level of communication and hospitality.
Stunning lake views. Quiet beautiful neighborhood, peaceful outside space. Alot of birds and boats to see from the dock and my husband enjoyed fishing. Host was very friendly.
It was a nice area; the property had beautiful lake views. We were visiting family as we traveled back home from wintering in the south. Recommend! Host is lovely!
Great easy communication with host. Cottage was everything expected and more. Beautiful view ,lots of extra things included. Lawn furniture, water toys. Other tenants there very friendly. Would recomment this place to someone wanting laid back quiet place to stay
We celebrated our 5th anniversary here, it was perfect. The pics on the posting don't do justice to the ambiance of Edie's place. So laid back and as outdoor lovers, we felt right at home. The bonus was the new friends we made.
I would recommend this for locals (like us) or anyone looking for relaxing in a serene yet accessible waterfront getaway in beautiful in NC.
Thanks Edie, we'll be back!

Nice owner and waterfront
Edie was a conscientious host. Nice sunrise view. The space should have been cleaner--though I acknowledge Edie was changing over 2 units as we arrived so maybe this was an exception.
The place was very clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable and we slept well hearing the crickets in the morning when we woke was a bonus. Great view by leaving the curtains drawn to see the lake.
Easy access down to the dock of the lake as well to eat, fish or just read a book and relax. The chairs on the patio and down by the dock were comfortable.
Edie the property manager was easy to talk to answered all our questions in a prompt and timely manner.

The devil is in the details!
Lake location, great. Inside needs deep cleaning. Clutter destroys the ambiance. Five cats roaming the property is “over the top “. We left before our rental ended.

Suzanne, I just saw this now, but don't have you on the calendar as being here? The clutter was due to my front porch had to be rebuilt due to a very bad builder, and apologize for the front yard having blocks etc, but just like hotels, sometime you have to do remodeling or reconstruction. Hopefully the porch will be forever strong. Kiser Island is a bit rural and cats do roam, but all are safe, and the white ones are mine. I guess it was not a good match, but again, I can't find you on my calendar so feel free to call me. I will say, just today someone who booked directly said it was THEE most relaxing and rejuvenating vacation they have had in their life and already booked for next year so I want you to know most love it the serenity of the island. I am constantly improving and putting 60 grand into an artificial lawn to make it a perfect yard year round. Be well
We knew we were in for a treat when we set foot on this beautiful Lake Norman property! This VRBO listing far exceeded our expectations.
Location-wise, it was the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. We felt a world away from the hustle and bustle, but whenever we wanted to venture out, there were charming local restaurants and shops just a short drive away.
The apartment was cozy and relaxing, blending modernity and relaxed lakeside charm. A fully equipped kitchen with every amenity you need for a comfortable stay. We cooked, grilled, and baked every day during our fantastic visit. We spent much time at the private dock enjoying the weather, sounds, and spectacular sunrises.
Last but not least, Edie was spectacular. She provided a treasure trove of local tips and was always a call away for assistance. Her hospitality made our stay even more special.
In short, if you're considering a getaway to Lake Norman, look no further. This property is a gem, and our memories from this trip will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to return!
Piles of broken patio furniture. Tossed aside dead plotted plants. No functioning outdoor lights. Unit itself was full. Loveseat was full of a cover and pillows. Provide dishes were not super clean. Provided towels were stiff and air dried. Owner would never reveal checkin procedure. Yard was full of clutter, trash and worn out furniture. Cats were ready to run in our unit at any moment. Power was lost on day 2, no water. Forced to leave and relocate.

not a couple's getaway
The house and property are very nice. The host was inconsistent communicating, so we were unsure of how to check in. There were no written instructions provided. She took too much of our time upon our arrival.
We were not provided a WiFi password - the only instructions in the place were to not use the microwave and toaster at the same time.
The place was cluttered inside and out and there was no lighting on the steps to the unit. The showerhead was very mildewy.
Also, there was about half a bag of coffee and a coffee maker, but no coffee pot or filters.
Very disappointed.
Edie was a great hostess! She was so friendly and welcoming! The views from this property are stunning with the most amazing sunrises!!

Nice Quiet Getaway + some notes
This 1 bedroom unit on the lower level of Edie's home was a small, cute space. Edie provided some info on local events, stores, and places to eat prior to my stay, which was helpful. I noticed that there were 3 cats on the property when I arrived, which didn't really bother me much. I do think it would be helpful for others to know just in case they have allergies or an aversion to cats for some reason. The unit had appliances and kitchenware that could be used, which was a definite plus. There were a couple spiders and quite a few spiderwebs to deal with, especially in the corners of some spaces. It didn't significantly detract from my stay; nothing a quick vacuum in the ceiling corners can't fix! Overall, it was a nice, quiet, peaceful stay. It was lovely to sit out and eat on the dock and put my feet in the water off the dock stairs. Was a needed getaway!

Janay,
I am so glad you got your much needed getaway and the peace and quiet I promise all guests. I have previously mentioned that several Reiki Masters have proclaimed healing energies here on the property which is probably why I bought it in 3.5 seconds with no intentions of ever building again!! The white kitties are never allowed in any of the apartments, nor are people allowed to bring their pet cats as I am very sensitive to the fact that many have allergies. In addition I run air filters just because of the different guests and even do saging after guests who may be a bit negative. I work hard to keep the environment healthy. Yup...when you live 30 feet to the lake with trees on both sides, it can bring a bug or spider but I am always here to help, although I personally have never seen one inside. I love the sharing this special spot on the island/lake with guests like you who are out on the dock just taking in all the nourishment nature can provide. Cheers.
Edie is a wonderful hostess. She makes you feel welcome and is very accommodating. It is a lovely home fronted on Lake Norman. A quiet, peaceful setting, yet close to restaurants and things to do. Highly recommended!
Our apartment was smaller that the pictures showed. The landlord was very helpful if we needed anything. Beautiful sunrises almost every morning. So happy we found a dog friendly place to stay that was reasonably priced!

Janice, you will have to send the pictures of the sunrises as being a night person, I am missing out!! It was a joy to share the beauty of the lake with you and Bob and love that dog!!! Keep me posted on where you eventually settle down here, if you do. Cheers, Edie
