Artist Vineyard Cottage - coastal influence in the heart of Wine Country!

Amazing location and breathtaking views! Nestled in the coastal foothills just off California Scenic Hwy 46 West - exactly halfway between the quaint artist village of Cambria (10 min) and gateway to the spectacular Paso Robles/Templeton wine region (just outside your door).

Newly remodeled cottage from the ground up. Enjoy top of the line furnishings, amenities and touches that one would expect from an artist. The large master bedroom is a Southeast Asian retreat with unique pieces from Nepal and Thailand. The queen bedroom takes you back to early California. The kitchen is fully stocked and has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Relax in privacy on the patio overlooking a vast farming valley below or tuck yourselves back in the shade of the oaks and bay trees off the rear patio.

For the safety of our guests during COVID, we have increased our minimum stay. We We also try to reserve 1 day for cleaning between guests. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

We were very impressed by how well organized everything was. The place is beautiful. It's a little off the beaten path, as you may end up driving 10 miles in any direction to visit sites, but that worked out quite nicely for us.The check-in and checkout process was very easy.

Great for Wildlife Watching

Friendly lizards and at least 15 different species of birds kept us entertained. A wide variety of books are also available at the cottage provide information and historical perspective about the local area.

Truly special place

My husband and I really enjoyed staying at Lisa and Randy's cottage. It has beautiful views and is very comfortable and well-appointed, decorated with a keen aesthetic sense. We stayed at this property April 27-30, 2023. The property was as lovely as the pics! Perfect location between the coast and the town made it easy to get around. We had brought a trailer with us for some antiqueing and Lisa was very helpful with that. King bed was so comfortable and the outdoor furniture made it easy to relax and refresh!

Quiet and special

we were looking for a getaway that would be a relief from all the construction and digging with its accompanying noises and dirt/dust that was the current standard on our street at home. We found it!…and more. The house is well-supplied and the owners are super responsive to any need. When they deliver a requested item, they will leave it near the cottage and text you the location. Your privacy and peace are their first concern. We will be going back and soon!

Fantastic getaway

Great location - about ~20 minutes outside of Paso Robles, so far enough out of town to feel remote, but not too inconvenient for groceries, food, etc. Overall, very secluded in a good way. Everything was very clean, very easy to use, and high quality. Will definitely return in future.

Always a wonderful visit to Paso when staying in this cottage!!!

This location and property is simply one of the most serene and beautiful settings in this area. There is not one part of the day that hampers this locale's natural but luxurious ambience! While surrounded by beautiful trees and nature, one feels that you are in a redolent tree house separated from the rest of the world. The beds can be best described as beyond comfortable and the linens are luxurious as well. My wife and I, as always, cannot wait to return and to be spoiled in second- to-none-comfort and setting. Thank you Randy and Lisa for sharing this wonderful home with us!!!

Girlfriend Getaway to Wine Country

We had a nice and relaxing stay at this cute little cottage which sits up on a hill. It had everything we needed. We were grateful for the AC as it got pretty hot outside and for the ample lighting outside at night since the cottage is secluded and in the country. Lisa, the owner, was communicative which we appreciated. We loved seeing the birds, butterflies and wild turkey's that made an appearance on the front lawn. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed some of the books and magazines stocked in the cottage. It was perfect for a friend's getaway!

Simply the Best!

We have stayed in many, many VRBO properties over the years. The Vineyard Cottage would have to rank among our top three. Simply put, Lisa and Randy have created a gem. From the idyllic location to the cozy, comfortable interior, no detail has been overlooked. Prepare to settle in for a leisurely, serene experience. Of course if you want to be out and about enjoying all that SLO county has to offer there’s that too. Just be sure to leave enough availability for us because we will definitely be back.

Absolute perfection in every way!

This was our second stay at the Artist Cottage, and it remains our favorite “home away from home” when visiting the central coast area. We enjoyed our walks on the beaches which were only 20 minutes away along with visiting our favorite wineries in the Paso area. The Artist Cottage possesses such a unique setting on the side of the hill that faces west. From every vantage point, the views are simply amazing. Really, if one wants peace and quiet mixed with a serene setting, this truly cannot be matched. The cottage itself has everything guests would desire to feel right at home. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the wonderful kitchen is ready to create any kind of meal. Our hosts were always available if there was anything we needed as well. All I can conclude with is that I hated to leave, and I cannot wait to come back in the fall.

Artist Vineyard Cottage

Five stars for location, location, location! This is one of the more unique (in a good way) places we stayed at through Vrbo. It is homey & comfortable. The master bed is comfortable & worth the effort of getting into it. There are touches throughout the property inside & out that says "Thanks for being here, please relax & enjoy yourself." I have to say the BBQ needs a little love & care. I did miss my dishwasher. These personal observation would not keep us from returning. The pictures represent what you see. Sitting outside after a day of sightseeing & wine tasting was a perfect wind down. The location allowed my husband to hoop and holler with the windows open during March Madness (college basketball tournament) & bother no one. We hope to return in the not too distant future.

PerfectionPhotos can’t capture the beauty and serenity of the Artist’s Cottage. We’ve stayed in quite a number of vacation homes and this is truly a standout. The driveway runs up through a vineyard to the cozy and well appointed cottage with a million dollar view, and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy it all.Templeton wine trail, SLO, Paso Robles and all the amazing coastal towns at your fingertips, and an amazing private retreat to come home to.Wonderful hosts as well. Working in our studio, surfing, gardening, ping pong, basketball, music and art. That is what you'll find us doing everyday. Oh, and cleaning and maintaining the cottage!!

Why they chose this property

We purchased this acreage (26) in 1999 with nothing but one framed out two story barn standing alone and a rickety old cabin on the hill. We own both sides of Old Creek Road. "Our" side is 10 acres with our home studio (used to be the barn) and "Your" side is the remaining acreage with a vineyard and our guest cottage.

What makes this property unique

THEEEEE PERFECT LOCATION! You'll have complete privacy, your own land and road and gate at the beginning and end of the road that goes up to the cottage. Adjacent to our property is the LAND CONSERVANCY / Santa Rita Ranch which creates a corridor for wildlife to travel through this mountain range, the Santa Lucia's. Our location 1/2 way between the Pacific Ocean and Paso Robles downtown brings in a coastal influence which typically keeps our weather temperate. Having us live right across the road makes it handy if you need anything during your stay. It's a blink of an eye (under 5 minutes) to VINEYARD DRIVE and some of the most amazing "west side" wineries. Trader Joe's is 11 minutes away.
If you head down Old Creek Road 15 minutes max, you'll hit the coast and if you turn right you are in Cayucos (Ruddell's smoked fish tacos) and to the left - Morro Bay for fresh fish (restaurant and fish market) at Dockside II on the wharf.
