About this property

Newfound Lake waterfront

Wake up just a few feet from the water with a beautiful view of the mountains. This is our ninth rental season for this great lake front cottage. 100 ft. beachfront. Shallow swimming area with gradual water depth. Swim raft and boat dock. Short walk to grocery store and 'Snack Shack' take-out & ice cream. Kayak rentals nearby. Nice family friendly place. About 1 hour ride to the White Mountains and various tourist attractions.
The cottage is about 15 feet from water with attached deck for eating or just relaxing. The association has 6 cottages and is a quiet setting. There is both sun & shade available and grassy areas or beach sand perfect for children who enjoy digging and building sand castles.
Hopefully the sun will shine everyday of your vacation. However, it's an amazing experience to watch a storm move down the lake from the inside of your lake front cottage.

Wonderful stay

We really enjoyed our week at this beautiful property steps from the water. The house is immaculate and the double sliding doors ensure an amazing water view from anywhere in the main room. We loved sitting on the deck in the morning and just soaking in the lake. Pat was a perfect host - friendly and available but unobtrusive. The only suggestion we would make is to update the online listing to say that the house has a day dock (short term use only) rather than a dock. We would love to stay here again!

Exactly what we were looking for!!!

My family and I stayed at this cottage a few weeks ago. It was, by far, the most relaxing vacation I've had in a very long time. The cottage was perfect, the location you really can't beat and the neighbors were fabulous!!!! The owners, Pat and Jim, are such a wonderful couple. I wish we had more time to spend with them but there's always next year. I'm already counting down the days til we return to Newfound Lake and this great cottage that we're hoping to become our "home away" for many years to come. Thanks again to Jim and Pat!!!!

Wonderful as always

We've been to this cottage several times. As always our vacation was wonderful! Pat & Jim are so welcoming. The cottage is perfect - just what we need - most of the time is spent on the deck and in the water! The other residents are very friendly. Shacketts is only a walk away for warm donuts in the morning or a nice steak to grill for dinner. We'll be back!

Perfect place for a getaway!

The cottage owners Pat and Jim were welcoming, helpful, and gracious. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and stocked witih everything needed to enjoy a relaxing week on the lake. The setting was amazing with beautiful views in each direction. The lake was as clean as they say and enjoyable to swim in. And you couldn't beat having a grocery store within easy walking distance! All in all this cottage was a GEM and we look forward to returning in the future.

We have had the pleasure of meeting many nice people who stay at our cottage. They all enjoy the location and surroundings. It is quiet and peaceful - a great place to relax and enjoy the crystal clear water of Newfound Lake. We look forward to their return again next year. Jim & Pat Ghelli

Hidden treasure!!!

You can't beat the location of this cottage. We could hear the waves lapping from our bed at night. The windows give such a breathtaking panoramic view that we felt like we were camping. We also felt amazingly isolated from the nearby cottages. The furnishings were not fancy, but functional. Some of the appliances and furniture were pretty old, and the floors slope (we had food roll down hill off the kitchen table more than once), but the place was clean and full of seasonal nick-nacks. It was clear that the owners take pride in their cottage. We spent a weekend here in early October and found many businesses still open. We were surprised that, for such a beautiful and easily accessible lake, the surrounding areas remain so rural and non-touristy. We were glad this cottage was so close to Bristol for easy access to pizza shops and groceries. This lake is probably not the place to go if you want to spend your days browsing quaint shops and trying a variety of restaurants, though -- unless you're willing to drive beyond the lake for that sort of thing. It IS the right place if you want to spend your time on the water. I can't think of a more ideal location for swimming (especially with kids, it's a perfect little beach), boating, grilling on the deck, fishing and just relaxing with your family. You can do so much without getting in the car, including shopping at a well-stocked mini grocery/convenience store without even crossing a road. I would definitely recommend this cottage to a friend. In fact, my only hesitation is that I want this place to remain our secret treasure.

Great little cottage!

My husband and I tried this cottage out this weekend and wished we had it for longer. We're already planning for a longer stay perhaps next summer. The place is quaint, clean, and so close to the water! Thank you Jim and Pat for a relaxing stay at your place. Hope to see you again soon!

Vacation 2010

To describe our vacation this year at Newfound Lake in one word, FABULOUS! From the location of this cottage, to the cottage itself and of-course, this most beautiful lake, it would be hard press to find anything better. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such friendliness and hospitality from the neighbors and from the owners, Jim and Pat. It made settling in very easy. This cottage along with it's location is very much suited for all ages, young and old. We are anxiously waiting for next year to return.

Suzie & Robert were our first renters and, as you've read, enjoyed the cottage and the location. This year is our first experience at renting and we have met wonderful people looking for a quiet, relaxing time. Swimming is nice but there are so many more activities such as kayaking & fishing that can be enjoyed from spring through fall. A new adventure as we enter our retirement years has turned out to be alot of fun!

We are a retired couple who have vacationed at Newfound since 1982. Now we spend time here with our grandchildren enjoying boating, swimming and campfires. We gave up cold weather sports to spend our winters in SW Florida enjoying the warm climate and golfing with friends.

Why they chose this property

We bought this rental cottage in 2009 when Jim began his retirement. We've own a second cottage in this 6 unit association since 1982 and know the location is great and the lake is the cleanest around. We enjoy meeting the guests who stay here - many who return every year for needed R&R. The view is amazing and the surroundings peaceful.

What makes this property unique

The knotty pine interior is a throw back to days gone by. Most of your time will be spent enjoying swimming in the crystal clear lake, canoeing or kayaking and grilling on the deck just 15 feet from the water. It's a restful, peaceful spot that will rejuvenate you to return to today's hectic life style.
