Let the curves of the Ozello Trail melt away your stresses as you arrive on the Key, Crystal River's best kept secret! This waterfront stilt home, just minutes to St. Martins River and the Gulf of Mexico, provides lots of mellowing opportunities. Chill on the screened deck overlooking the canal or enjoy the outdoor space under the house or on the waterfront. There's room for up to 6 adults to spread out in the spacious living room, dining room and kitchen, the large king master suite, and the 2 private guest rooms, one king and one queen with a shared bath. The yard and hardscaping are neat and tidy with a concrete rip rap seawall, concrete walkways and a dock for your shallow-draft boat. Conveniently park up to 2 cars under the house or on the concrete driveways out front where there is an RV hookup or room for a boat trailer. Two fat tire bicycles and a trike can be used to meander the old Florida style fishing village area, or it's an easy walk to 2 excellent restaurants and a short scenic drive to another great restaurant with amazing views. There's a general store that carries necessities, fun stuff as well as fishing bait and gear. Ozello Marina as well as other providers can take you on a fishing charter or tour of the area. Three kayaks and 3 paddleboard/kayak hybrids are available for guest use. Watch for the abundant nature residing in the area, from birds, lizards, turtles, and fish near the house, to porpoise and even manatee in the nearby waters. The star gazing is pretty great at the house and even better in the wide open space at the Ozello Community Park. Ozello is famous for great fishing as well as a good area when scallops are in season. There is a convenient screened fish cleaning station and an outdoor shower head. There are 3 smart tv's, a dishwasher, washer and dryer so you never have to leave the island if you so choose! But if you do choose, we are minutes to popular sites like 3 Sister's Springs, Homosassa Wildlife Park, Fort Island Beach and an awesome restaurant scene. It's a quick trip to nearby big chain groceries and Walmart for items you can't find on the island. Come mellow in the Ozello Bonefish House.

Peaceful Getaway

The house is in the small rather isolated community of Ozello. House was comfortable, welcoming, nicely decorated, and extremely well appointed. Kitchen was better equipped than my own. Bedroom was attractive and comfortable with good linens and en-suite bath. Two other bedrooms were also attractive and comfortable with a full bath just outside. Nice screened in porch for enjoying the view. Multiple kayaks to paddle the canal which is just a short distance out to the river. Two restaurants within walking distance, one more upscale than the other but both good and welcoming. Another one just a couple miles down the road with a beautiful view. We had a very peaceful relaxing time in the house and also managed to tube Rainbow River and kayak at Silver Springs from its location. Would definitely stay there again.

We fell in love with Ozello!

Home Away From Home

This property was comfortable, clean, and very spacious. This home was beautifully decorated and had every amenity provided. The owners have thought of it all from first aid to extra pillows to recreational items to information about the area and recommendations of things to do. We had a wonderful time and felt completely at home while our family of four stayed here for a month. The location was quiet and relaxing, yet close enough to all the places to visit in the area. We took advantage of the bikes and kayaks provided which were a fun and relaxing treat. Lynn was responsive and thorough. Don't hesitate to book you stay here!

We're from Kentucky and we winter in laid-back Ozello. We love the sunrises and sunsets and boating the sparkling waters of the Nature Coasts and want to share it with others. Travel is our passion and experiencing it like the locals is or favorite way to explore.

We enjoy the welcoming, small-town atmosphere and close knit community of Ozello. We love that we can walk or bike ride to The Outpost, the local's meeting place, and Backwater Fins with great food and views. The beauty of driving the Ozello Trail or boating the St. Martin's river and other waterways never gets old.

What makes this property unique

The Bonefish House is a peaceful place to relax with a cedar hot tub, patio and screened deck. Cookout for the group on the gas grill on the shaded patio with picnic table under the house. Prefer bigger beds? We have 2 kings and a queen for comfortable, quiet nights. Explore the waterways in the kayaks/paddleboards or bring your own shallow-draft boat and park it at the dock. Clean your catch in the screened fish house with running water and a cooling fan. Walk or bike to nearby restaurants where on certain nights you can hear live music or karaoke. Keep your eyes and ears open for Herons, Ibis, Eagles, Ospreys, Hawks, Woodpeckers, Otters, Lizards and more. Rainy days? The house is spacious with a large kitchen and living room, and a cabinet full of games or puzzles to keep you entertained. Two of the bedrooms have smart tv's for anyone seeking 'alone' time. It's also the perfect base to explore the Crystal River or Homosassa area with their attractions and restaurants. Clear nights offer superb star gazing.
