About this property

Lameshur Cottage's Guest House

This secluded Caribbean cottage is tucked into the hillside on the quieter south side of St. John and offers panoramic mountain views of the surrounding National Park. It is within easy walking distance to many of St. John's best beaches and hiking trails. The interior of the cottage offers comfortable accommodations with a queen-size bed that sleeps two and a fully equipped kitchen and bath. The large covered porch provides spacious outdoor living and dining areas with a grill and daybed.

A queen bed with fresh linens is situated in the main room when you arrive. A full kitchen with all the amenities needed cook from home and enjoy the view. A bathroom with a walk in shower, fresh towels, bodywash/shampoo, and hairdryer is all provided.

The covered outdoor patio is the best place to soak in the views, we have also provided a sugar bird feeder with sugar if your a bird lover. We have full size day bed that is perfect for taking a nap or can even sleep a 3rd/4th guest. There is also a grill for cooking along with couch and a table for relaxing and enjoying the National Park mountain views.

Its decidedly Caribbean design and decor, along with its incomparable National Park setting, make it the perfect vacation choice for those seeking the peace and tranquility of a true island getaway.

We are located on the furthest side away from the ferry on which you will arrive. We STRONGLY suggest renting a car.

-Salt Pond beach (one of the more popular beaches on St John) is 0.25 miles away

-Kiddel Bay is 0.5 miles away

-Grootpan bay is 0.5 miles away

-Great Lameshur beach 0.8 miles away

-Little Lameshur beach is 1 mile away

With the second bed being on the covered outdoor patio we suggest if there is going to be a 3rd/4th guest they are ok with a more outdoorsy style stay.

We had a terrific stay at Lameshur Cottage! It was relaxing & comfortable, and in a quiet location for exploring the east end of St John. There are neat little groceries nearby to cook for yourself, but also places to eat out not far in Coral Bay.We enjoyed being so close to the great snorkeling in Salt Bay Pond and great birding opportunities. We could watch the huge flock of flamingos on the small pond below our porch, and had beautiful birds coming to the sugar feeder. The host, Bill, met us on arrival and hauled our biggest suitcase up the stairs for us. He was helpful and attentive the whole time. If you are looking for a slightly rustic but peaceful and relaxing experience on St. John- this is the place!!

We loved our stay! Very quiet, cute and spacious cottage for 2. You can see the flamingos hanging out on the lake behind our deck. Super close to salt pond bay and great Lameshur bay. The hosts provided bug sprays,beach chairs, beach towels, snorkeling gears so we didn’t have to bring much. 100% would come back again!!

The cottage is as described. Quiet retreat in nature. I enjoyed my morning coffee watching the banaquits at the feeder and seeing the flamingos in the distance. The host has thought of all the details and we had everything we needed. We stocked up on groceries on St Thomas and cooked our meals at the cottage every night. Salt Pond beach is really close by and beautiful. Good snorkeling. Highly recommend the Rams head trail for hiking. We visited Maho beach and loved snorkeling there too. We saw turtles at both beaches. Would definitely recommend especially if you like to be surrounded by nature. Host was helpful and communicates well.

This is a quaint cottage with all the things you need to cook your own meals. There is a flushing toilet and a shower in the bathroom. We were there in the off season. We brought all our own food and cooked our dinners in the cottage. This rustic cottage has no AC but does have many fans. Due to the heat and time of year (October) we did have a challenge with insects. Our host Bill was very kind and responsive to all our needs! We would definitley recommend this cottage for peace and solitude. You will need a car to stay in this area of the Island.

Really enjoyed my stay. The hosts were super nice and beyond helpful. It was super nice being right up the road from Salt Pond Beach. You’re on the less crowded side of the island so you get to see a lot of wildlife which I loved. My only suggestion is if you stay here you almost have to rent a car.

Serene Island Paradise with all necessities

We really enjoy the location of the cottages since we are surrounded by National Park hiking trails and world class beaches with in walking distance. We can be found hiking or snorkeling all around the island, or at our favorite local Coral Bay restaurants.
