Cozy container cabin nestled in the Angelina National Forrest!

Enjoy a serene and peaceful get away in this one of a kind fully furnished container cabin, also known as the Fortress in the Pines. Cabin sits on 10 private acres surrounded by tall pines and seasoned hardwoods, tucked into the Angelina National Forrest.
This cabin is the perfect place to unplug and recharge. Out here you can breathe a little deeper and smell the pine trees and fresh air. This is the place to be present with your family and friends. Enjoy the simple pleasure of sitting around a campfire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Drink in the sunset on the upper deck while sipping a glass of wine. Play card games. Watch birds. Take scenic walks. Sleep deeply in the absolute quiet waking up with the sun and the surrounding wildlife instead of an alarm.
The cabin is new and includes a private bedroom with a queen bed. The couch converts into an extra bed that can sleep two. Tankless water heater provides instant heat for your showers. Covered patio downstairs and top deck sitting/viewing area. Outdoor gas grill, fire pit, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and refrigerator. The cabin is stocked with cooking essentials as well as plenty of coffee. Due to its remote location, cell service is limited and based on your individual cell provider.
Wondering out will also be a breeze only 30 minutes away from Nacogdoches, oldest town in Texas and home of Stephen F. Austin University. Also, only 25 minutes from Lufkin, TX. If fishing is what you are looking for, Sam Rayburn Reservoir where fishing is second to none, is only minutes away with launch ramps only 2 miles away. For those that want a bit more adventure the Red Bug Cycle Park is minutes away.

End of year get away

We really enjoyed our stay to end 2021. We enjoyed sitting around the fire ring roasting hotdogs and making s’mores. Also sitting out on the deck watching the squirrels play while enjoying a cup of coffee was top notch!

A close by hidden gem

It was a amazing experience the cabin was just as advertised but I think seeing it in person was even better. It was great to get away from the city with out having to be super far away. This is somewhere I will be returning with my wife she love the experience.

Quiet and cute

Honestly the whole place was super romantic and cute. It was an amazing escape from the city and a great chance to connect with my partner. Hardly any cell service no amenities in terms of technology just a great place to unwind and get away from it all. Only gripe is how gnarly the walk to the private beach is other than that it's amazing. I'll be back for sure.

An unexpected Gem!

What a cool little property! If you’re looking to disconnect from the fast pace of life and reconnect in the wilderness but you’re more of a glamper instead of a camper this place is most definitely for you! It’s adorable and so well kept by the owners! Abel is friendly and communicates very promptly. Can’t say enough good things about this property!

Great stay

Great time at this cabin, very quiet in the woods, all you hear are chickens and other animals, very clean and there is so much stuff you can use in there, oh and he stores expired foods in the cabinets and refrigerator too like 3 or 4 years old foods. I did not want to leave because its so nice in there very comfy. And theres a balcony upstairs that you can lounge around but the stairs are a little too steep if you have little legs like I do. But overall very nice clean comfy stay you won't regret it.

No Services and No proper bed linens

It was not stated in the original ad which i have as proof that there was no service. Im a government employee and so I have personal and work internet as well as cell service on different networks and neither worked. No cabel or satellite so no t.v. it also stated sleeps 4 and in photos appears to be 2 room but its not. It does sleep 4 two on pull out sofa which was fine just photos deceiving and its was a very vague ade. There was a sheet on mattress then bedspread no top sheet and no regular sleeping pillows with sheet covers, only 2 with bedspread shames on them and throw pillow which are not cleaned. There is only a push in knob lock no deadbolts. Oh I was told those was for sleeping on. This was supposed to be stress free but the area is not a great place dumpy trailers such around and no way to call for help. Now the cabin is nice new but needs a bit of service at least to get help. I had to leave early as i didnt feel safe at all.

Absolutely beautiful cabin. Perfect for a weekend to connect with loved ones and disconnect from reality. Super private and quiet. Had everything we could possibly need in the cabin and it even got so cool that we had to turn one AC unit off at night!

Rest and recharge

A peaceful getaway. Host was friendly and gave us good recommendations for eating. The hike down to the lake was adventurous as there wasn’t a trail, aside from those that animals had made before us. It wasn’t difficult tho and the lake spot was worth it. Secluded little beachy spot with trees full of Spanish moss. It was so peaceful down there. Definitely a place to rest and recharge if that’s what you’re looking for.

Highly recommend!

We highly recommend staying here! Perfect spot to get away and relax. Definitely take advantage of the fire pit! The area on the roof was so nice, at night we were surrounded by fireflies, so pretty! The inside interior was very comfortable. And we can’t say enough good about things about the host, he made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Getaway!

Perfect little getaway for my partner and myself. The place was just as listed. We loved the rooftop sitting area, and made use of the hammock and fire pit! The cabin it's self was very cozy and just big enough for the 2 of us. The kitchen was well stocked, which made cooking there convenient. The location was nice. Out in the woods but only a few mes from the nearest stores. Very quiet and peaceful. Beyond satisfied and can't wait to go back.
