Franklin`s tower - Gilded Mountain

Guests love staying here! "We loved our visit and cannot wait to book another visit next year! We loved the development and had a great time. The cabin was laid out very nice for our family and we had plenty of room."

This Black Hills vacation rental features beautiful décor, large windows with spacious rooms and wonderful amenities, to make your vacation perfect!

The main level has an opening dining-kitchen area and living room with a large wall of windows looking out into the beautiful National Forest. Gas Fireplace, seating for 12 at the dining table and kitchen island, walkout to the deck and private hot tub. The main level also has the washer/dryer, full bathroom and bedroom with queen size bed.

Upstairs is an open loft with a trundle bed (2 twin beds), a bedroom with king-size bed and a 1/2 bath. The lower level has a great family space with another gas fireplace, flat screen TV, plenty of seating, wet bar. There is another full bath and 2 bedrooms on the lower level - 1 with a set of twin bunks and 1 with a queen size bed. The cabin sleeps 10 in beds.

The Gilded Mtn. Subdivision also offers use of a classy Clubhouse! The Clubhouse is beautiful with log accents, cabin and mining décor, and the perfect additional place to enjoy your vacation! It offers a game room, outdoor swimming pool, hot tub and sauna.

Great cabin in a great location

Beautiful, clean cabin just south of Lead. A great location for both snowmobiling and ATVing. Highly recommend. The only drawback is that the driveway is too steep with too big of a dip to back in a 4 place trailer. We had to park the trailer at Recreational Springs, which is only a couple miles down the road so not a big deal.

Enjoyable Time

We enjoyed our time at Franklin’s tower, but want to be full disclosure, to hopefully provide improved experience for your future customers. The amount of snow was very helpful in having a good experience, as it allowed for plenty of time spent outside sledding with our kids. Prior to arriving, we were told there was a blender on site (key for a couple peoples’ breakfast needs). Upon arrival, when noticing there wasn’t a blender and that were multiple lamps with either no light bulbs or burnt out bulbs (considering the limited lighting, all bulbs are needed), we inquired. We were told that a blender and extra bulbs would be delivered the next day, but never showed. Additionally, I would recommend two things for communication with future prospective renters. 1) I don’t recall seeing much of anything in the VRBO listing about being able to access a community lodge with a heated pool. It’s a great asset and should be advertised. 2) As steep as the driveway and access roads are, it’s only fair to let prospective renters know that 4x4 is recommended for accessing, during winter conditions. Fortunately, we came prepared, because we’re pretty familiar with the region, but others may not be as fortunate. We spent a lot of time on the main level living area and would have really appreciated having a TV in that main level living space. I’d recommend cleaning the ceiling fan in the main living space. We certainly enjoyed our time, but have received equal or better value/service for less, in the recent past, in the Terry Peak area.
