We had a lovely vacation away from the bustle of work in this pristine Northwoods location. Fishing was excellent, lake is lovely and the swimming at nearby Shell Lake was terrific.
Spooner is a really nice town with great amenities including coffee and food. This location is an easy drive to nearby trails and Lake Superior.
The perfect place for a last trip north for the year. The cabin was absolutely perfect! Only thing that was missing was the ability to watch TV in the evening.
It was a very nice, clean place. We enjoyed our stay and the cabin was very cozy. Lake access was convenient. Communication with the owner was +10, he was great about answering questions and the check in and out was simple.
Scott's communication was above and beyond from directions (with road construction) to things to do in the area. The lake was extremely quiet while we were there. We loved that there were plenty of sand toys and activities for our young children. We had a few raining days so we appreciated the comfort of the cabin. Great stay overall.
We had a nice time at Lincoln Lake. It is very near where my Grandparents lived when I was a child so the area holds many memories. The cottage was updated and clean and well appointed. The owner and the local concierge were very attentive to any needs. It’s a quiet, peaceful lake but not too far from restaurants etc .
This cabin was perfect for my family. It had everything we needed to make our week very enjoyable. The people staying in the neighboring cabins were very nice which was good since we had to walk by them when we went to and from the beach and dock. Lincoln Lake was never busy during our stay and the water temperature was very comfortable. Spooner and Trego are very close by if we needed to run to town for anything. Scott was a great host and provided us a lot of information before our stay which helped us plan out our week. I highly recommend staying at the Little Pine Lodge.
This is a really nice place to stay if your looking for some quiet, relaxing time to get away. The accommodations were really good and the cabin was clean. There was everything you need to cook with as well. Lincoln Lake is fun to fish and has a lot of large mouth bass, northern pike and pan fish in it. And if you just want to build a fire at the fire pit and relax there is that option as well. We plan to stay there again next year again for sure! Barri
The Cabin was very clean. It is nicely decorated and has plenty of windows to let the sunshine in. It was well stocked with dishes, cooking pans and utensils. Soaps, paper products and kitchen bags/wraps were provided. Linens and towels were nice and there were extra blankets and towels. We had a very comfortable stay. The owner was available to ask questions and was quick to respond.
My family and I truly enjoyed our week at this cabin. Lincoln Lake is a beautiful peaceful lake that we spent a lot of time on. They kayaks they provided gave us hours of fun on the water. The boys enjoyed fishing from them as well. The beach is beautiful and most days we had the whole beach to ourselves.
The cabin had everything we needed, although it’s not very large, we didn’t need any more space then we had. The back pouch was very comfortable to sit and relax or have a meal with the family on. The evening fires around the fire pit was also a hit.
This property was great for the weeks stay with our family! Plenty of space for a family of 5, and lots to do for the kids!! We spent a lot of time outside, riding bikes and playing around the cabin!
The cons: Wi-Fi provided is actually a hot spot box, so if you are planning to do any work while enjoying this property make other arrangements as that will not do. No cell service either, even with the hot spot calls and messages are a no go. Property does need a deep clean inside, we assumed it was because owners live out of state. The lake front is shared with other owners properties, and those owners and their guests took it over our entire week trip. We didn’t get to enjoy the beach area much as every time we tried to, we had no area to even sit and enjoy a couple hours. Luckily we have family in the area and spent lake time elsewhere!
A nice cozy cabin on a smaller lake with a beach just footsteps away. This cabin was quant and perfect for our family of 3 with lots to do in the area. We checked out the zoo in Hayward and that was awesome. We went to Round Man Brewery & Angry Minnow Brewery and both were fantastic. We wanted a little more space and beach access so we drove to Mayne Beach in Shell Lake and that was a lot bigger with a playground, picnic tables, a pier, and boat rentals.
The cabin was decorated very cute, easy access to gain entry to the cabin, and a hot spot for Wifi. We enjoyed the weber grill (bring your own charcoal) and the bonfire at night. Although I think a deep clean on the floors may be needed; the appliances, sheets, and towels provided were all clean. The window AC unit kept up with keeping the cabin cool and the fans in the bedrooms helped as well. All in all we had a great stay at this cabin and the host was super responsive and kind through all the messaging.
The cabin was clean and well supplied. The location was perfect for our Atving adventure.

About the host
Hosted by Scott P or Deborah J Kerber
Scott is a retired small-town newspaper editor who grew up near Chicago, with most family vacations spent in northern Wisconsin. He has since lived in East Tennessee, Nebraska and Missouri, but he has always kept his love for the North Woods. Scott's wife, Deb, is a wife, mother and customer service manager for a Messianic ministry and publishing house. Daughter Stephanie is a social marketing manager for an interior design firm. Her hand can be seen in much of the interior design and decoration in The Little Pine Lodge.
Why they chose this property
Scott fell in love with Wisconsin's North Woods during several childhood vacations (most in the Spooner area) while growing up in the Chicago area.
What makes this property unique
The first time Scott visited the property, he was delighted by the number of happy faces he encountered during his relatively brief tour. Since purchasing Little Pine Lodge, he's seen that look of delight on his wife and daughter's faces, as they became won over to his appreciation of the North Woods and the beauty of Lincoln Lake. It's a feeling that's hard to avoid.
