Wayward Sailor's Boathouse (w/boat well that accommodates a 35' boat) overlooks Venetian Marina, minutes from Cedar Point Amusement Park. Boathouses are unique to Sandusky, as they hover over the waters of Lake Erie. THE BOAT PICTURED IN THE BOAT WELL PICTURES IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL. Guests will be sleeping ON the Lake! Features 3 bedrooms (2 overlook the Marina), deck in boat garage to sit out over lake & fish, outdoor spaces for BBQing and lounging, and easy access to Cedar Point, Sportsforce, ferries, watersports, downtown, stores & restaurants. Your family will never forget this place! This updated space has been recently remodeled. Sonos surround sound bluetooth system is perfect for filling the summer nights with music & outdoor spaces beckon guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy the Lake Erie sunshine. The large kitchen helps guests prepare meals to cut down on vacation costs. Two Smart TVs feature cable, & Wifi is on property. Laundry machines on site. Weber propane grill is in one outdoor space, along with a picnic table, comfy outdoor couch & chairs, & a porch swing is out back on the deck where guests can fish. The ambiance of the fun, energetic waterfront community is unmatched in the area. Neighbors are friendly, fun people, & the aura of the area is positive & spirited.

Please.... DO NOT BOOK UNTIL YOU READ THE FOLLOWING:
***Dogs are $35 per night, per dog; dog fees will be collected upon booking.***
***Guests who bring boats will pay a $65 docking fee per night***
1. THERE IS NO SWIMMING IN THE WATER AROUND THE HOUSE - this area is full of docks where people keep their boats and use electricity so it is not safe to swim.
2. There is no trespassing on, in, around, in front of any other boathouse or boat well on Catalina Drive, ESPECIALLY the private, gated home at the north end of the street. This is NOT a community space. Guests who trespass on any other property on this street will be removed from the boathouse with NO REFUNDS.
3. There is no boat launch in our community. There's a public ramp to launch boats. Guests cannot leave their trailer at the boathouse, as there is no room. We recommend the City of Sandusky Boat Ramp located at 1099 W Water St #1001, Sandusky, OH 44870. Owner is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of guests using any launch ramp nor any trailer storage losses.
4. Guests who are coming for Cedar Point: please note that Owner is not responsible for any Cedar Point-related issues. We do not guarantee that Cedar Point will be open or whether you'll be able to get in. There will be no refunds for any Cedar Point-related problems.
5. NO SMOKING IN THE BOATHOUSE, IN FRONT OF THE BOATHOUSE, OR IN THE BOAT WELL! SMOKING WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE PROPERTY.
6. Although there is a propane tank on the BBQ grill, if it becomes empty during a stay, or if it's empty upon arrival, it is the guest's responsibility to exchange the tank.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please remember to: -take trash out to the bin across from the front door, -wash and put away all dishes, and, -place towels in the washer.
Bedding can be left on the beds: there's no need to strip them, but let me know if any beds were unused so we can conserve water and energy by not laundering linens that were not used.
Please also lock the front door and the boat well door upon your departure.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Guests agree that they have read/understood/accepted Rental Agreement attached to listing. Guests must sign/return it within 48hrs of booking.
1st and last names of EACH guest staying on property are required, including minors. Guests unwilling to give host all names will not be approved.
Dogs are $35/night, per dog. VRBO website doesn't have capability to charge guests for more than 1 dog. Additional dog fees will be sent separately.

We had a great time at the Wayward Sailor boathouse! We came to the area to ride the coasters at Cedar Point. The boathouse is in the perfect location if you don’t want to stay on the resort, just 5 minutes away. The property is clean and comfortable and the host is very responsive. We did not bring a boat but it seems like it would be fun if you have one. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Cedar Point!

Great stay in Sandusky

We had a fantastic stay at the Wayward Sailor. The house is a great location to Cedar Point (about 4 mins) and very comfortable and quiet. Would definitely stay again.

The house was very close to Cedar Point which was excellent for comings and goings, especially as we had some rainy days and we could easily take a break. The property was nicely decorated. The air conditioning worked fine. The owners was nice and very communicative. The poperty was cleaned well. The only reason I gave cleanliness a 4 was that you could smell dog on the carpet if you laid down on the carpet. But the day to day cleaning was good. The furniture as cheaper and not that comfortable. The mattresses could use an upgrade as they were not comfortable. The host made me sign a contract and implemented a bunch of rules if you broke threatening to remove you from the property if broken which I have not seen before. It made me nervous that the host would try to overcharge me on anything, However we had no issues. There was a camera on the rear boathouse where you could sit and we did not use it as we did not want to be watched by the homeowner. Overall, the house was nice. I may or may not stay there again - mainly due to the beds.

A Note to Future Guests: We appreciate all guest feedback & want to provide clarification regarding this review. Our rental agreement outlines rules & expectations that help protect our guests & our property. Guests have the opportunity to review the agreement before committing to the rental & can choose not to proceed if they are uncomfortable with the terms. We also strive to be flexible & accommodating. In this case, we changed the guest’s reservation dates at no charge for his convenience. Regarding the mattresses/furniture, comfort is understandably subjective. While this guest found them uncomfortable, we have not previously received complaints about either. We also want to reassure future guests about our exterior cameras. The camera mentioned in the review is located at the rear boat garage & is used to monitor boat & property activity. It is not used to watch or surveil guests while they are enjoying their vacation. Most importantly, we want future guests to know that we are highly communicative & genuinely want our guests to have a great experience. We welcome guests reaching out to us with any concerns during their stay so that we have an opportunity to address them. We’re pleased that this guest found the home clean, nicely decorated, conveniently located near Cedar Point, & that they found us communicative and accommodating. We want to make sure future guests have accurate context when read reviews & understand that our goal is to provide a wonderful stay.

Perfect getaway!

Perfect spot to relax after a long day at Cedar Point. The house was spotless, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and we loved being right there by the water. Great property on the lake!

Our family recently stayed at this incredible property, and it was an absolute hit! We fell in love with the beautiful location, cozy charm, and modern amenities. The spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen were perfect for our needs. The patio and stunning views were a highlight, and the owner's hospitality was exceptional. Family Road-trip

My hubby, our two kids(ages 21 and 18), our two pups and myself traveled from Minnesota to visit Cedar Point.. This was the first time bringing our dogs to a Vrbo and it was such a nice treat. The house was perfect for our needs. Location, size, tv, and we loved the boat well although we did not spend any time there. Would definitely recommend and also would stay again if we do another Cedar Point trip in the future.
