We enjoyed a wonderful, 3 week stay at this cabin on GSL. The camp was very spacious with sweeping views of the lake, several options for dining and gathering. Our favorite space was the enclosed porch that had plenty of seating. Our host, Roberta, was very attentive to our needs and extremely conscientious with follow up. We will definitely book here again.
First off Roberta is kind, pleasant and quick to communicate. We did not need ANYTHING once we got there- this little gem is a private, peaceful, all ammenties you could want and more lakefront gold mine! The sunsets are incredible. The lake just steps away and can be seen from all common areas due to the number of windows facing the lake. Its clean and euqipped with anything you might need for cooking, swimming, sleeping. Beds are cozy!!! This cabin gave us the greatest joys of just tapping out and getting away from the daily grind and it was a tough leave! We will be back. We love GSL and I loved the serenity that is found in every square inch of this cabin and property. So very grateful for our memories!
It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Foxes Den. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the solitude of late fall on the lake. The property had everything we could want. Roberta's attention to detail was evident. The house was very clean and well appointed. We're looking forward to returning.
What an amazing stay we had at the Foxes Den. My husband and I came with our three young girls. It was exactly what we needed. We all loved the spaciousness and privacy of the property. The house was clean, stocked and in order. Already thinking about booking for next year. Roberta was an amazing host!
We spent 4 nights at this beautiful lake front home. It was a surprise birthday gift for my wife and she couldn't have been happier. The views of the lake are stunning and the foliage was as beautiful as we hoped it would be. The cabin is incredibly spacious. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything a guest could ask for. Roberta is top notch! She responds quickly, and gave us wonderful recommendations for places to eat and things to see. We hope to be back again.
Roberta was quick to answer questions and explain things. The house was recently remodled and clean. Open layout. Loved the side enclosed porch. Thanks Roberta!
Started off with a bang..literally!! Wonderful place for a family vacation. Sunsets are gorgeous, place is well stocked and has everything you need for a great stay. Would recommend perhaps adding a ladder to the dock to make it even better for swimming and watch the moss on the slope down to the dock, it can get slippery. Overall, beautiful place, well appointed and a great feel inside and out. Also the record player is an added piece of enjoyment, ending each night with a nice sound reverberating off the calmness of the lake.
We arrived to a very clean property. It was actually more spacious than I had expected and very well stocked with kitchen needs, Bedding was very comfortable. Two bathrooms were great .Plenty of room for family to gather either in the main living space or the screened in porch. Perfect view of Beautiful sunsets. Neighboring houses are visible but not overly close. All in all was a great place to spend the week.
My wife, son, daughter in law and I really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful location on the lake and you can choose to be active with hiking and water sports or just enjoy the peaceful location as we did. The house is well appointed with plenty of rooms for everyone to spread out.
Roberta was very accessible and eager to help us with anything that came up.
Their really isn’t a beach to hang out on because it’s steep and rocky but the floating dock is nice.
Had a great time and would recommend.
This is the place to go if you’re looking for relaxation, exquisite views and an amazing sunset. The lake house is spacious, clean, well stocked, and easy to get to. The parking is roomy enough for more than 3 cars so you don’t have to worry about squeezing them in. There is even an outside outlet if you have an electric car. The lake house is located in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood with an abundance of trees that gives you privacy. The lake is clean but is rocky so bring your water shoes and floating tubes.
Well maintained lakefront property. Peaceful, relaxing, refreshing retreat. Fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding & swimming from the dock was so convenient and enjoyable. Plenty of room in the house for the 4 of us, our small dog, and all our fishing/hiking/floating gear. We’ll equipped kitchen for prepping meals. Had everything I needed to to fry up a fresh beer battered Walleye I was lucky enough to catch! Amazing views of the lake throughout and gorgeous sunsets. Dog loved looking out the windows at the lake. I was able to brush up on my Sacandaga River basin history by reading the book that was conveniently located at my fingertips in the sunroom. Lots of homey touches throughout the house made us feel comfortable. The old postcards were really cool as was the Bluetooth bathroom vent speaker. It’s the Adirondacks so there were lots of bugs at night. The “guide to the cabin” book provided a good strategy to help keep the bugs out by keeping doors shut but we found some bug spray to address some small gnat/flies that did manage to infiltrate the bathroom. Sacandaga Brewing was a fun stop on our way in. Enjoyed some great hiking at nearby Wilcox St. Forest. Everyone loved the hike to Tenant Creek Falls including the dog! Took a trip into Saratoga and grabbed a bite at Druthers 550 Waterfront on Saratoga Lake. Outdoor dining at Lanzis Lakeside Tavern and Marina on Sacandaga followed by ice cream at the Lazy Bear was perfect way to end our trip!
The property was all that we could have wished for. It was clean, amply supplied kitchen, and more than comfortable. Listening to some LP’s on the turn table while the sun was setting over the lake, brought back many memories. Roberta was responsive and helpful with any concerns. Would definitely recommend this property
We had a beautiful week! The home was spacious and well equipped. Our daughter absolutely loved swimming and jumping off the dock. The adults loved spending lazy afternoons floating and reading. The sunsets were beautiful! The back porch was the perfect place to have breakfast in the morning and unwind at night. The place was clean and really had everything we needed.
Clean , well maintained, well furnished very comfortable. Property is very private. Wonderful lake views both inside and outside. Host was easy to contact and attentive to anything we needed.
This is a beautiful place to stay and relax with family. Lots of room for the children, plenty of places to play board games and for the adults to "get away". The porch was perfect for the one member of our party who had to work. Internet was very good, beds comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. The children enjoyed sitting on the dock and kicking their feet (not really a good place for swimming, but they were happy!). We did manage to dock our boat there, which was a bit tricky. We did put the boat in at The Dive a few miles up the road but decided to go the the Town of Day public boat launch to take the boat out. It is about a 9 mile drive. Will definitely consider staying here with family again!
Peace and quiet galore! The house decor was a wonderful reminder of how getaways used to be. Knotty pine everywhere and vintage layout. Marvelous!Everything you could need to just kick back and relax. The sunsets were just as beautiful as in the reviews. What a find.Roberta was a most gracious host. Quick to respond, and the house was neat as a pin. Will definitely recommend to others!
Our stay was excellent all the way around except for the weather which cannot be controlled the house and accommodations were perfect for our needs We will be back again next year
We had a wonderful relaxing stay. The lake views are just as seen in the photographs and the cottage was very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen. I would second the need for water shoes to reach the dock and get into the lake. As an older group, that was a big help for us to feel more secure with our footing and enjoy swimming in the lake. A great property and we were very pleased with our stay.
Glorious time away relaxing by the lake. Views from dining and living area perfect to wake up
to with coffee. Ample seating in multiple areas outside to enjoy the sunset.
Will be returning.
