The water tower houses a large apartment with 130 m² on 6 floors + roof terrace.

The transformation of the water tower into an apartment was primarily designed for the careful handling of the existing building and represents a minimal intervention in the existing structure. The over 100 year history of the water tower remains tangible. The round shape and materiality, which remains perceptible in all rooms, are particularly important. The result is an open living space that does not divide the tower into small rooms, but plays with open levels and the round shape.

The large cozy kitchen is on the ground floor. The room is covered by a brick dome. The old iron staircase leads you to the sleeping levels with baths above. The tower has a total of two bathrooms with shower, toilet and sink and an additional toilet with sink.

Above this, the room follows the history of the tower, which lies directly under the steel dome of the water tank.

The living room is now at the top of the former water tank itself. A large window was cut into the riveted tank wall, which gives a clear view of the wildlife park. In this extraordinary room there is another sleeping possibility for 2 people.

The water tower is crowned by the roof terrace over which the steel skeleton of the former roof extends.

Unique stay in Potsdam

The water tower is one of the most unusual places we have ever stayed. Added a fun note to our trip. The unit was extremely clean, kitchen worked well for our needs, plenty of bathroom space for 8 adults. The welcoming bottle of sparkling wine was a nice touch. The living room (also the top bedroom) was a bit of a challenge to access by the steep ladder. We didn't even try to get luggage up there. The unit was within easy walking distance of the train station, restaurants, and Sansoucci Palace. I highly recommend, especially for those with an adventurous spirit.

Wir hatten schöne Tage im Wasserturm. Es war alles vorhanden, moderne Einrichtung wie auf den Bildern gezeigt. Zwei Sterne Abzug gebe ich der Lage, diese ist zwischen einer befahrenen Straße auf der einen Seite und einer Bahnstrecke auf der anderen. Zu Fuß, mit dem Fahrrad oder dem Bus ist man in wenigen Minuten in Potsdam City, sowie im Park Sanssouci, der auf jeden Fall einen Ausflug wert ist. Der check-in funktionierte reibungslos. Frau Wirth antwortete super schnell auf meine Fragen, die ich vorher hatte! Vielen Dank dafür.

Eine besondere Unterkunft

Es hat Spaß gemacht, im Wasserturm zu wohnen. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. In wenigen Minuten ist man am Park Sanssouci.

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt

Wir hatten eine Wunderbare Zeit im Wasserturm, der selbst schon ein außergewöhnliches Gebäude ist. Er ist ruhig im Grünen gelegen, mit den Rädern kann man in wenigen Minuten durch den schönen Schlosspark Sanssouci nach Potsdam fahren. Das Berliner Zentrum wR für uns in 45 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Wir haben sehr kurzfristig gebucht aber Katrin hat uns alles hergerichtet und auch alle Informationen vorab zukommen lassen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Ein wunderschönes Kleinod

Super Unterkunft. Mitten im Grünen und dennoch zentral. Wurden durch Nachtigallgesang geweckt. Was gibt es schöneres?! Gute Bus-und Bahnanbindung ins Zentrum. Parkplatz vor der Tür. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war problemlos. Wir waren mit 4 Frauen dort und es hat super gepasst. Obwohl alle Zimmer Durchgangszimmer sind, hat es nicht wirklich gestört, da die Vermieterin über dem Bett einen verschiebbaren Baldachin bedacht hat. Tolle Idee. Es war wirklich ein Erlebnis in einem Bau mit Geschichte zu übernachten. Danke für das Retten dieses Schmuckstückes. Wir würden immer wieder gerne kommen.

Wasserturm = MUTIGE Idee

In unserer Planung für unseren Potsdam-Trip haben wir nach einen Fewo für 7 Personen gesucht. Der Wasserturm hat und sofort begeistert. Alle weiteren Planungsschritte waren ideal. Eine ganz besondere Unterkunft

Unsere Familie hatte eine tolle Woche in diesem ungewöhnlichen Ferienhaus. Es hält wirklich alles, was die Bilder versprechen. Die Einrichtung ist neuwertig und passt sehr gut zu dem alten Gemäuer. In der voll ausgestatteten Küche ist wirklich alles vorhanden. Man bracht nichts selbst mitbringen. Wir haben zu viert natürlich sehr viel Platz zum Schlafen gehabt, aber es ist durchaus denkbar, mit bis zu 8 Personen in dem Haus zu übernachten, auch weil ja drei Toiletten und auch zwei Duschen vorhanden sind. Draußen gibt es einen Sitzplatz mit Tisch und 8 Stühlen. Ein Grill ist auch vorhanden. In der direkten Umgebung im Park Sanssouci kann man sich schon mehrere Tage beschäftigen, dann gibt es ja noch die anderen Potsdamer Parks und die Innenstadt z.B. mit dem Holländerviertel, den Filmpark Babelsberg ... Eine Badegelegenheit findet man an den vielen Seen in der Umgebung auch, und eine Faht nach Berlin ist von dem Standort aus auch unkompliziert mit der Bahn möglich. Also uns hat es sehr gut im Wasserturm gefallen, und wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Vielen lieben Dank an die Vermieter!

Der umgebaute Wasserturm ist ein architektonischer Hingucker, hat viele durchdachte Details und eine schöne Dachterrasse, die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet.

Great experience!

Our stay at this watertower was such a unique experience! The tower is beautifully renovated and very well thought through. Our four kids (teenage ages) were fascinated (the tower might have been the highlight of their trip!) and the bedrooms provided enough space and privacy for eight people. After two full days in Berlin it was nice to come back to this quiet location away from the busy city. It took us about 1 hour to get into the city and back but Potsdam itself has so much to offer that we would love to come back to focus more on this lovely, beautiful and green city. The owners are very nice and responsive and we were lucky to meet Daniel who took a lot of time showing and explaining us their architechtural projects and answering our questions. The water tower is definitely an amazing place to stay, however not so much for very young children or older people because of the many steps inside.
