About this property

Woodland Hobbit-Themed Tiny House in the Smokies!

The Hobbit-inspired tiny house (#2) sits on the Mountain Shire property located just minutes from top attractions in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountain National Park. Enjoy a cozy 200 sq. ft. plus loft of living space that includes hi-speed internet, a loft with queen-sized bed, living room with large sofa-bed and Roku TV, well-stocked kitchenette and bathroom with shower. The outdoor amenities include a fire pit, lounge chairs, and picnic table with scenic overlook of the surrounding valley area.

Mountain Shire is an Hobbit-inspired tiny house property. The tiny houses were designed by the Mountain Shire owners and built by a local company. The landscaping and Shire-inspired structures were developed using repurposed materials from the property and surrounding community.

This tiny house has everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in the Smoky Mountains. Free wifi is available inside of the tiny house and elsewhere on the property.

The living room includes:

✦ Large sofa-bed
✦ Small table with two chairs
✦ 32'' Roku smart TV
✦ Small electric faux fireplace
✦ Wall-mounted air conditioning/heater with remote
✦ Board games and books

The kitchenette includes:

✦ Electric stove top
✦ Microwave
✦ Galanz refrigerator with freezer
✦ Keurig coffee maker (including coffee pods)
✦ Hot-water kettle (including tea bags)
✦ Plates, bowls, utensils, condiments and other essentials

The bathroom economizes space and might be a tight squeeze for some (remember it was designed by Hobbits!). It includes:

✦ Toilette
✦ Hot-cold water shower
✦ Small mirror, towels, body wash, shampoo, and toilette paper
*There is no sink in the bathroom

The main sleeping area is located up a short flight of stairs in the loft. There is about 3 feet of overhead room. Individuals with mobility issues might be uncomfortable. Otherwise, its a cozy space filled by:

✦ Queen-sized bed, including linens, pillows, and blankets
✦ The loft is well lit and has standard plugs and USB charging ports

Free parking slots are located within 25 feet of the tiny house. Leaving the property can be a little difficult due to limited turn-around space. Guests should be careful if/when backing out on to Trace Way.

Fun location
Pint sized living was a lot of fun here. Our home was clean, added amenities and just adorable (fairy lights included). Located close to the touristy activities which was a bonus.

2nd Breakfast
This amazing tiny home that’s Hobbit-themed was everything you could as for! Cute kitchen with everything you need for 2nd breakfast, elevensies, & more! Perfect space for our family of 4 (2 adults, 14 & 12 yrs old boys). The boys slept on the fold out full sized couch bed and we slept on the queen bed upstairs. There was only 2 towels and washcloths so I was glad that brought a couple extra to accommodate our family of 4. The owners were kind and helpful. We will definitely be staying again!!!

About the host

My wife, Ely, and I moved to Tennessee in 2020 to realize our dream of developing and operating a tiny house resort in the Smoky Mountains. Over the last 2 years, we've worked on achieving that dream by building Mountain Shire, a Hobbit-inspired property in the Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg area. We have two tiny houses finished and ready for guests to enjoy...another 9 are on the way!

Outside of tiny houses, we like to travel, learn about new cultures and languages, landscape and familiarize ourselves with the latest technologies.
