Pet-friendly Cabin in the Hills! HOT TUB + Wifi

**
Pet-friendly! (DOGS ONLY).
Bring up to 2 dogs with you during your stay. Dogs must be kept with you or in a kennel when you leave the cabin. No additional fee for your furry friend.
**

No matter if you're looking for a romantic getaway or a quick weekend away with the family, Lazy Bear Lodge (sleeps 4) is the perfect Smoky Mountain cabin for your vacation.

Located just outside of town on the edge of Wears Valley, Lazy Bear Lodge is a short 10 or 15 minute drive from the action of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, but still far enough away to actually FEEL the comforting call of the mountains.

And talk about mountains! The cabin is located near the top of a windy road in a quiet little cul de sac. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park lies literally in the back yard, jutting up majestically from the back porch (and private hot tub). And from the wooden rocking chairs on the front porch, you can gaze through the trees and into Wears Valley in the distance.

The cabin itself is appointed just as you'd hope and although it's small in size, it's filled with charm. As you walk into the front door, you're greeted by a soaring 15' ceiling. A sleeper sofa and leather chair face a wood burning fireplace, giving the perfect place to get cozy on a chilly night. (Be sure to pick up some wood on the drive in if you want to use it!) The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need - Keurig and a coffee maker, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, blender, crock pot, microwave, iron and board, washer and dryer. Just bring any food you want and you're all set.

There is a Roku HD TV so you can bring any of your streaming accounts from home. (If you don't have any, just reach out and I can get you set up) There is also a small library of DVDs in case nothing is on! Feel free to use the XBOX 360 with two controllers and games if you want your video game fix while on vacation.

The bedroom features a king bed and extra comfy mattress, which is perfect for getting a great night of sleep. And the bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub and unique waterfall bathtub spout and tree shower head which gives a great country quirky feel.

On the outside, there's a private hot tub on the back porch to warm your muscles and help you relax after a long day exploring the area. And be sure to take advantage of the charcoal BBQ grill when you're ready to cook up some tasty dinner as well. Best of all, there are plenty of chairs on both the front and back porches so you can take in nature - the birds chirping in the mornings, the wind rustling through the trees, or maybe a fox or bear walking by (if you're lucky!).

When you're done relaxing in the hills, the entire area is chock full of things to see and do. Head to Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a long hike and your eyes peeled for wildflowers, white-tailed deer and 60+ species of birds that are there year round. If it happens to be rainy, climb into your car and take a drive through the park for glimpses of historic buildings dating back to the 1800s. In either case, pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it!

Dollywood is the beating heart in the area and has something for all ages, whether it be amusement park rides or fun live entertainment. Gatlinburg Golf Course is there if you have a desire to get in a few holes... But most don't know that there is a Harrah's Casino a short drive away in Cherokee, NC. And of course you can ski at Ober in Gatlinburg as well as Cataloochee Ski Area in North Carolina if you want to get some half decent shredding action.

For a couple seeking a relaxing retreat or a small family looking for a getaway, there's no better place than here in the Smoky Mountains. Don't miss out on Lazy Bear Lodge - book your stay today!

Bears are indigenous to the area and are often seen near or on our properties. Please do not leave food or trash outside.

CLEANING
***
Our team will be following all CDC guidelines on cleaning ; using EPA registered products to thoroughly clean ; disinfect so you can feel more comfortable staying at our cabin.

GETTING AROUND THE AREA
***
The entire Smoky Mountain area is very hilly (After all, it IS the Smoky Mountains!) so do yourself a favor and download an offline map in your Google Maps program. This will let you navigate to our cabin and around the area even if you don't have cell coverage. Neat, right??!

To do this, it's easy:

1. Open the Google Maps app and log in.
2. Search for Pigeon Forge. Zoom in/out so that the map you see contains everything from Gatlinburg on the bottom to Sevierville on the top. Don't be afraid to zoom way out because it'll get everything in between.

3.
On iPhone: Tap the name, tap More.., select Download Offline Map > Download
On Android: Tap the name, select Download, click Download

We strongly recommend you come with your car as that will give you the freedom to explore and enjoy the beautiful Smoky Mountains area. As you already know, we offer free parking spots.

You generally wont need to have 4wd for the cabin as the roads are well maintained.

Loved the cabin and the neighborhood! The bears were entertaining each day. Close to Smoky Mtn National Park where we picnicked quite a bit with our dog. Very tranquil and relaxing. A very peaceful 2 weeks away from home!! Our host was always available for questions in a timely manner which we appreciated.

Great Location

We had a great stay here over spring break. We were greeted by the neighborhood bear who watched me unload the car and then tried to get in it while I was in the house. The location was perfect for us, far enough from pigeon forge to get out of the crowd but just a short drive away when we did want to do the touristy things. There was also a great little coffee shop just down the road. There was also a neat little bar between there and pigeon forge with gem mining for the kids and a great waterfall view.

Hung out with the bears

Our charming little cabin was nicely appointed for the two of us. We enjoyed the hot tub and porches. The bed was very comfy. We brought our 2 dogs who had to be leashed at all times bc of the bear activity in the neighborhood. It wasn’t an issue but something pet owners should know.

The cabin was lovely and the perfect size for me and the husband. Super clean and cozy with all needed amenities. Check-in and out was a breeze. I also had a great and fast communication experience with the owners durning booking. They even sent information about great attraction and recommendations in the area. The location of the cabin was amazing for us, with giving the "up in the mountains feel" but still being a great middle ground within 25-35 minutes from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Great Smokey Mountains National Park Sugarlands Visitors Center. Definitely recommend!

In the middle of everything

We loved the location because it seemed like we were centrally locates between all the major attractions of the smoky mountains. Took one star off of cleanliness for a blood stain on bed sheet. Otherwise, this cabin exceeded our expectations!

Great cabin for a couple

This is a fantastic cabin. I would recommend it highly. Not a ton of room for a medium to larger dog outside to walk and get some exercise, but no reason at all not to rent, just bring the super long leash for them to explore up the hill behind the cabin. We had a fantastic stay and I was able to work remotely from the cabin with no issues. Was nice to stay away from the bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but close enough for food. Thanks for such a clean and welcoming place!

Relaxing and great get a way

Very welcoming, cozy and relaxing vibes all around. The hot tub was great and just what the doctor ordered to relax even more. Centrally located to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Very quiet. Leaving for a show in Pigeon Forge at 11:30 am on Thursday morning. Had just backed out of the parking space and looked up to see Momma Bear and 5 cubs just ambling down the street. We were very cautious and watched as they strolled to our neighbor’s back porch and sat for a brief time while Momma groomed the cubs. The sighting made a great time even better. We would highly recommend for a stay and we intend to return.

Lovely, Cozy, Convenient

My husband and I stayed with our dog, and the home was great. The bed was comfortable (this is huge!), and we had everything we needed. We had one hiccup, contacted Justin, and problem resolved! Happy with the prompt response. This location is close to the Park without going into Gatlinburg and the masses of people, but should you want Gatlinburg it's close and easy to get to. While the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, knives etc. there were no additional amenities - salt, pepper, storage bags, etc. so be sure to bring your own (we always do!) WiFi connection was solid. And the home is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so there is no thru traffic and things are quiet. We enjoyed our stay!

The cabin was perfect for our week of hiking GSMNP, and the location ensured quick access to the park. Great touches like labels on all the light switches and plenty of drawers in the bedroom and bathroom made it easy to settle in. Unfortunately, we seemed to have one small issue after another. I had to request the check-in details on our arrival day, then the provided door lock code did not work; utensils were not well thought out (more than 15 spoons but only 2 standard forks); cleaning issues with a smelly microwave and pet accident odors from the living room (not noticeable throughout the cabin); and hot tub water issues resulting in us only being able to use it on one of the three nights we tried. The owners were prompt in replying to our messages about these issues and apologetic. Hopefully they addressed them after our stay.

More than you bargained for

If you’re looking for the wow factor when comes to a peaceful, middle of nowhere experience with just enough excitement from nature this is the place. The cabin was cozy, clean and well organized. It’s not too far from local shopping, entertainment, hiking on foot or on horseback. The cabin also has a hot tub which was perfect after a long day of exploring. To top it off we were visited everyday by the local black bears! The host of this property was perfect, Justin ensured we had just the right amount of information every step of the way, from check in to check out and even gave us places we could bring our dog on hikes. If I could rate this as a 10 I would, it’s amazing at worth the trip!

My wife and I are passionate about traveling and love everything that entails. Discovering a special restaurant, a fun show or a scenic drive can really make those memories that are cherished for life.

Why they chose this property

The first time we heard about Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, it sounded too good to be true. Within a week, we had hopped a flight to go check this place out.

The instant we laid our eyes on this cabin, we knew that it was perfect. We wanted a cabin that was small and quaint and made you FEEL like you were actually in a cabin in the woods. And, at the same time, close enough to town where you can enjoy all of the amazing amenities the area has to offer.

This cabin is perfect for a quick romantic getaway, a nice weekend away with the kids, or for some secluded time in the hills to work on that novel you've always wanted to write. The national park is literally in the back yard, so you have the privacy that every cabin guest dreams of having. And out the front you can see Wears Valley wayyyy off into the distance. This is the perfect combination of rustic and natural beauty for your holiday.
