Our stay was amazing! The host went above and beyond to ensure the stay was easy and comfortable. The cottage is adorable and was incredibly well stocked with everything we could have possibly needed and more. An easy walk to Marietta Square. A lovely, cozy getaway with loads of personality. Highly recommended.
This home is an absolute gem. Cute, cozy and so interesting. House was super clean, well stocked and comfortable. Walkable to Marietta Square. Chris was a fantastic host and communicated well. Looking forward to coming back.
This home is an amazing place to stay. Everything we needed was there or close by. We very much loved that it was so clean and unique! Thank you so much for a comfortable home away from home!
Chris has done an amazing job with his home - it truly became "our" home almost instantly!
We loved the home, it had everything one could need and is filled with personal items that made it cozy and interesting. I would recommend this home and host to anyone! Easy to downtown Marietta and easy from airport.
I stayed in this gorgeous house for 3 weeks - could not find fault. Sparkling clean, comfortable beds, fully equipped new kitchen and bathroom. Very helpful owner, not a single complaint! Thanks for a great stay.
Hidden Gem on “Top of the Mountain”. This place is very nicely decorated, It is also very quiet and in a safe neighborhood very close to the square. We would definitely come back if we come thru this area again.
This is our second time renting this property in Marietta. The house is great for our needs and kept up and provisioned well. Its nice being close to the square. Since we have family in Marietta, we'll be coming back regularly and this will be the first rental we check for availability.
This house had anything you could possibly need. It was so clean and we enjoyed the historic charm! Chris communicated well.

Hello Lynn and thanks for these kind words! We are really happy you enjoyed your time at our home...and we look forward to welcoming you back sometime soon! Until then...happy, safe and fun trails! Chris and Beatriz
The proximity to downtown Marietta is great and you’ll definitely want to explore it for food and shopping. It’s also convenient if you’re going to a Braves game, which we did.
The host, Chris, kept us up to date and was very helpful. The house is about as well stocked as any VRBO I’ve ever been in.
Wonderful well appointed charming home with lots of character. Super nice host. Small garden affords guests with home grown tomatoes which was very nice
This house has such interesting decor. It is in the perfect location to enjoy the Square in Marietta, it is a 10 minute walk to multiple restaurants and shops. It is incredibly stocked with supplies throughout the house. We didn’t need to make a list and go to the store for anything other than our food. Chris, the host, was on it all the time if we needed anything. It was also exceptionally clean. We hope to stay there again sometime soon.
This home was great!! I say home because it was more than a house!! It had the country feel in town! It was close to everything we had to do that week. The home was cozy quiet and comfortable!! The host was very responsive each time we reached out with any questions and even left lights on for our arrival at night!! Overall a great get a way but with all the accommodations of our home!! Well done!!
Other reviews have stated that their stay felt more like being at home than in a rental. I have to agree. It is a beautiful old house that has been renovated and made to be comfortable, from the updated kitchen to the comfortable couch in the TV room. My son recently moved to Marrietta. My wife and I met our daughter down there to visit. Not being familiar with the area, we looked at a lot of houses before deciding on this one. We couldn't be happier with the choice. It is in a great location (we walked to Marrietta square), it has plenty of room and a nice view of Kennesaw Mountain from the back patio or front porch. The house was well provisioned with anything you might need and more than we expected. The owner was great to work with as well. We plan on spending more time in Marrietta since our son is there and this will be the first place we check for availability when we do.
This was a great home in a great location. I have stayed in many rentals, and this was the first one where I felt like I was in a home and not a rental. The home was very clean. It had more than ample stock of everything we could possibly need. Check in and out is very easy. Host is responsive to questions. I would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed all the outdoor decks and the fully stocked kitchen! Communication with the host was excellent. The location is minutes from downtown Marietta square. We plan to stay here again!
This property exceeded my expectations at every level. The hosts were very accommodating which was very appreciated being from out of state. Loved the close proximity to the Marietta square and downtown Atlanta. Given the opportunity I would pick this property again! Loved it!!

About the host
Hosted by Chris Colvin
Chris and Bea are longtime Marietta residents; 25+ years for him, 11 for her. As an Architect, Chris has been working on painstakingly restoring this gem of a home since he acquired some 26 years ago. Chris is an avid cyclist and Bea is into roller skating...two hobbies they love to enjoy year 'round in this perfect seasons-blessed, gorgeous part of the world they call home: Marietta!
Why they chose this property
Built in 1938 (+/-) by the Hill family, it was the home for many girls who were fostered out of the original Kennesaw Hospital system - many of whom are still around the Marietta area. The house sat abandoned for over 10 years in the 1980-90's on a stone foundation that was collapsed and sliding the house into the street~ needless to say it was restored from the bottom up. Located on top of Lawrence St, you will be looking over the Square and have an unobstructed view of the 3 ridges of Kennesaw Mountain. Some of our favorite things about the house are the original wood floors, stained doors and trim and largely the original floor plan. The deep porches are a Georgia hallmark that will be sure to please. No detail has been overlooked and the numerous amenities create a comfortable ambiance while staying true to the cozy feel of the home. Warm in the winter and cool and breezy in the summer, it is the perfect quiet escape within close proximity to the vibrant Marietta Square.
What makes this property unique
Location, Location, Location! Just a few blocks from the Square, it's a pleasant and short walk. Ample and private parking. Very quiet and secure home. Great for families, as there is a picnic table on the front porch as well as a lovely outdoor "perch" with an idyllic view of the sunset every night. The large back yard is fenced and private.
