Charming home and grounds

Carol’s charming home and grounds provided our family a delightful summer escape from the city. We especially enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen and the terrific pool. Carol was easy to communicate with and this made for a very easy stay.

We loved our stay!

This house was perfect for a group of friends looking for a cozy weekend upstate - charming, comfortable, spacious, amazing kitchen and grounds. It was winter and still lovely so I can't even imagine what it's like in the summertime!

Great place

Nice and isolated property. Really quiet and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully loaded. The pool is great. The house is a bit in older side but very cozy. We had a great stay.

Wonderful getaway

We had a wonderful stay at Carol’s place this summer. The property is beautiful and feels like a real getaway. We loved the tennis court and pool. Carol was responsive and helpful. We’d love to return!

Great place for a secluded get-away

Our whole family had a great stay here. The pool is heated and the kids really enjoyed it. They also loved fishing at the on-property pond. The chef's kitchen had everything we needed. And the screened-in porch was wonderful - we used it for every meal!

What can we say! This place is a dream! Very secluded (just what us city folk wanted) and so much to do! Carol and her sons were very helpful and friendly and all amenities were superb. We enjoyed the tennis court and pool very much, both excellently maintained. If you're looking for a great place, pet friendly, and with stuff for the entire family...don't hesitate to book this beautiful property! Thank you Carol!

Enjoyable as always

This is our 2nd stay at this home, and we always have a good time. We had a few issues, but they were taken care of promptly. Between the pool, ball courts, and fireplace, you don't ever have to leave, but Rhinebeck is just 20 minutes away with great food and coffee.

We had a wonderful stay at Carol's house with my husband, three year old daughter, my parents and our dog. The house was perfect for what we wanted and had everything we needed. We used the pool every day and even used the tennis court a bunch. Carol was super easy to communicate with and we never had any issues. Would highly recommend!

The house was terrific and very clean. Plenty of kitchen space. The tennis court and pool were in great condition. Pool was cleaned the day of our arrival. Would 100% love to book this house and tennis court again!

Family Fall Weekend

Our extended family of 10 ages 80 to 17 had a wonderful stay. Loved the well-stocked eat-in kitchen, outdoor fireplace, heated bathroom floor, comfortable family room, first floor bedroom with shower for older relative (accessing the house required a walk across grass to the back door and a couple steps), beautiful fall color and many great restaurants and farm stands. Near CIA and hiking.

Don't hesitate!

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at Carol's place but the first time in fall - just wonderful! the house is gorgeous and the kitchen is beautiful and has everything you need. I highly recommend this home - the pool is great in summer and the trees are spectacular in fall! thanks so much!

Lots of fun activities!

Our group of 8 really enjoyed our visit to this area. The house fit our needs nicely—we enjoyed the pool; pickle ball; exploring; and trying out local diners and restaurants. We made great memories in the Hyde Park area as we visited the FDR home, Val-Kill, and the Vanderbilt mansion. We also enjoyed eating at the Culinary Institute. The house kitchen was well equipped and there were several tables we could use for eating as well as playing games. And it was great to be able to text Carol with any questions and even meet her son as we were leaving!

A wonderful, very comfortable home and lovely owners who were great about checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Beautiful tennis court with a great surface. It rained a lot so we couldn’t enjoy the pool much but it was very pretty and there were nice walking trails. Lovely master bedroom and bathroom, big bright and well stocked kitchen, and nice screened porch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic house and property

We stayed over the Xmas holiday with two small kids and 4 adults. The home exceeded our expectations - deluxe well equipped kitchen, spacious layout, comfortable beds and gorgeous property. With board and card games, the bocce and tennis courts, and bats/balls the kids had so much to do even in cloudy December weather. The property is beautiful for walks and less than 30 min to Hudson for shopping. This house would be an amazing summer rental but it was perfectly comfortable for offseason too. The house has a cozy vibe and is clearly a loved destination for generations of family. Communication was easy and the hosts went above and beyond to make us comfortable and feel welcome. We hope to visit again!

Special Place

We stayed here for a week in December. The property is secluded and the grounds were lovely. It was slightly snow covered for us and was great to walk around. The host’s son even found a couple sleds for us. It must be even better in the summer when you can use the pickleball court and fish the pond. The kitchen was a dream; great stove and double ovens, plenty of utensils, plates, dishes, etc. Plenty of seating inside. Looked like plenty outside too but it was too cold this trip to sit out there. We did a lot of cooking in this trip. There were also places to hike and ski nearby. Downstairs bedroom suite was convenient if you can’t do stairs. We used both the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Highly recommended.

Perfect spot for a family reunion!

We are a bi-coastal family (LA and NY) and like to get together for several weeks in the summer. Carol’s house was a perfect place for everyone to relax and reconnect and for the cousins (8-6-5-2) to bond. The house itself is comfortable and inviting. The kitchen is large and fully stocked with dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, spices. Everything is exactly where you would expect to find it. There are several dining and living areas, so groups can gathers together or spread out individually. The bedrooms have plenty of linens and towels; all of the bathrooms are nicely renovated. Oh, and there is even a closet filled with board games and another with craft materials. The grounds are very, very private and offer so many activities that our little grandkids thought they were at a fantastic camp with their grandparents and parents as counselors. The tennis court is in perfect shape and also has lines for pickleball and a basketball hoop. In addition, the property has lighted bocce court, a horseshoe court, a large trampoline, a fishing pond and several hiking trails. For our family, though, the definite highlight was the well-maintained pool. Two kids learned to swim and everyone took tennis lessons with PopPop. I have so much more to say, but the VRBO app is about to shut me down. Know that Carol is a lovely and responsive host. This property was an excellent fit for our family. Everyone was sad to leave after our three weeks. We hope to return in the future.

Wonderful Family Retreat

What a great house and perfect host. My family drove in from CT and MA and met for the week at this house and it was perfect. Quiet, private, wonderful amenities (including a great pool!), plenty of space, clean and very comfortable for all! We had an amazing time and Carol was wonderful, quickly answering questions during the week as a few came up. It was perfect and just what our family needed... thank you Carol and family!

Beautiful property and location

Our small family group had a wonderful time in this beautiful home and its beautiful grounds and amenities. Lots of wildlife and birds, a fantastic pool and tennis court, and convenient to so many enjoyable areas and outings. Sparkling clean and nicely outfitted for renters. We'll be back!
