About the host

Your host

We live in Ulster County and use this Haus as our escape into the Catskills and great outdoors. We love it, there, and are happy to offer it for stays when we are not up there ourselves.

Why they chose this property

We bought the Haus in December, 2021, so we could maximize our own Great Western Catskills time. The Haus is within village limits, but surrounded on two sides by Forest. You feel like you are out in the woods, but in reality you are not all alone out in the woods. The Haus is accessible being right on a State Highway. It’s an easy
drive to BearPen, Plattekill, Windham, and Hunter Mountains (10-20 minute drives to each) and a 25 minute drive to Belleayre. Roxbury, Stamford, Prattsville, and Hobart are all nearby. Each have great restaurants, shops, antique stores, etc. There is a great hike-inn waterfall and clean public pool up the road at Minekill State Park. It’s
also not a long trip to Cooperstown.
