Our overall experience was wonderful. Everything we wanted to see and visit was at least 20 minutes away, which we loved. Our host Haven and Dan were excellent. They were very responsive and they made sure we had an awesome experience on the Vineyard. The cleanliness of the home was good and WiFi worked well. 2 thumbs up from 6 ladies from Chicago.

Beautiful views in a country property away from the Hub Bub! Our hosts were very attentive and we had a great July 4th weekend..... and then a few days for a smaller gathering to reinvigorate before returning home. A car is a must. We hope to return!

This pet-friendly farm was ideal for our family vacation! The hot tub was a hit, and you can’t beat the view from almost every room in the house. We loved visiting the horses and chickens, taking hikes along the trails right near the house and playing in the large yard. The beds were comfy and the hosts were helpful and quick to respond. We would absolutely stay here again!

House was in a great location with everything you could possibly want/need. Our kids had a blast walking over to see the horses and the ability to get a parking pass to the beach was a great perk. Thanks for a lovely stay!

My family loved the location and beautiful views. The house is an expanded Cape with three smaller bedrooms upstairs that share a small bathroom, plus a larger primary bedroom with an attached bath. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows, bedding, and towels could use a refresh. One challenge was the older upstairs area, where the window AC units were not properly sealed. As a result, quite a few bugs made their way into the bedrooms and bathroom. A vacuum was provided, which helped, but it was still unsettling, especially for some members of our group.Another inconvenience was the water filtration system, which cycled during the night restricting the flow of any water. Not being able to flush toilets or use water normally at night was unexpected and made things less convenient for our group. The outdoor space was our favorite feature. We really enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Access to Lambert's Cove Beach was another great perk, although the pass only allows walk-on access. If you're visiting during peak season, plan on using Uber or paying for parking. We visited during the off-season and were fortunate to find parking available.Overall, we had a nice stay and appreciated the location and outdoor amenities. Unfortunately, the home did not feel as clean or well-maintained as we had hoped, so while we enjoyed our visit, we would not choose to stay here again.

We loved our stay at Sanctuary Farm! The house is so cozy with amazing views and beautiful touches. Haven and Dan were very responsive, kind and even left us goodies from the farm, wine and wood for the fireplace. I highly recommend staying there if you get the chance. Gorgeous property in a wonderful location

We had the best possible stay at Sanctuary Farm with our three kids. Dan and Haven are the kindest, warmest hosts, and the house is beautiful. Our kids loved seeing the animals every day and riding bikes down the quiet roads. The location next to hiking trails and with water views can't be beat. An absolute gem, and we will be back!

Gorgeous Home and Location!

We loved our stay at the Sanctuary House. The house itself was so beautiful - it had the farmhouse feel with modern touches and appliances. Amazing stay on Martha's Vineyard

This property is a fantastic place to use as a tranquil base camp for exploring Martha's Vineyard. The property itself is secluded with a great view out to the water, and having farm animals close by is fun. The house is cute and cozy with many modern touches. The hosts are incredibly nice and left us a few fun bakery surprises, but were never intrusive. Looking forward to going back!

About the host

Hosted by Haven and Dan

Host profile image
Hello from our beautiful island! We're your hosts- Haven and Dan! We fell in love with Martha's Vineyard many years ago and finally moved to the island as year round residents in 2020. We live in Chilmark and offer our Sanctuary Farm home as a guest property. We adore Martha’s Vineyard and are thrilled to host people on this beautiful island. We live on the island so don't hesitate to reach out for anything you need. We will give you peace and quiet but contact us via text and we will take care of your needs and requests quickly!

Why they chose this property

Martha's Vineyard is known for spectacular summers and warm, sparkly falls but Sanctuary Farm and House are absolutely gorgeous any time of the year! Enjoy roaring fires in the fireplace and cook up meals from local meats, dairies and produce in the well appointed kitchen. Enjoy the slower pace of life, soaks in the hot tub, hikes in Cedar Tree Neck Sanctuary and watching the horses graze in their fields. It's a magical property that we are thrilled to be able to share.

What makes this property unique

Sanctuary House is located at the top of one of the most scenic roads on Martha's Vineyard and directly next to Cedar Tree Neck Sanctuary. The neighborhood is very quaint and quiet and the property is set on 2 private acres. While the house feels very remote, it's centrally located and a quick drive to grocery stores, town villages, beaches and restaurants.
