About this property
Unbelievable Mountain Cabin on the Historic Chattahoochee River
Beautiful mountain cabin on 5 acres near iconic Helen GA. Close to dozens of hiking trails and waterfalls. Gorgeous new Pavilion with Rock Fireplace and deck overlooking the Chattahoochee river- fishing, kayaking, or tubing down the river. Site of Lifetime's 2019 Christmas movie- Christmas Love Letter. Recently added sun room with wood burning stove with scenic views of Chattahoochee river and deer and wild turkey on lower plateau. For golfers- Par 3 hole to come at a future date (Flagstick and cup now installed).
Only a half mile down a scenic gravel road, lined with a barn, a log cabin, and three mountain homes, you will venture into a hidden mixture of lake views, major sized water wheel, mountain views and finally magnificent unparalleled views of the Chattahoochee River from what is best described as a luxurious mountain cabin.
From wrap around covered porches which include a screened in areas, to the open kitchen w/marble bar and seating area, the ultimate in convenience is available for your use with a state of the art kitchen with all Stainless Steel appliances.
Step out on the back deck with your coffee after breakfast or dinner and listen to the sounds of the falling water from the river. or walk down to the small rustic sandy beach area for swimming or tubing' in the 'Hooch'.
You will not run out of ways to sit back and relax. If you want you can visit the rustic gazebo and deck by the river. Like camping in the woods with the deck jutting out over the river. The deck is solid but also, very rustic with chairs and table to enjoy.
Easy access to the river and small beach area.
Pull up a lounge chair and sit on the deck for the afternoon or build a fire in the wood burning fireplace in the main room, wood burning stove in new sun room, in the outside fire pit by the hot tub or the fire pit by the river/gazebo.
There is no shortage of outdoor activities available nearby in the area including horseback riding, hiking, golf, biking, fishing and more. The outdoor shower should not be missed with hot water.
The Alpine Village , Helen is 15 minutes away with numerous restaurants and attractions. Also, the Uhuburg castle, just outside Helen, just opened to public in May 2023 (see photos)
Many Vineyards and Wineries are with 5 miles and some have live music as well as tasting tours.
A hot tub with surrounding deck overlooking the river is ready for your enjoyment year round.
State of the art Direct TV system is available in all rooms with HD DVR included. Internet access is available. We recently added a new Air Fryer to our well stocked kitchen. All virus protocols are being observed.
We call this the Ultimate Camping experience, why don't you.

About the host
Hosted by Judy Conner
I am a native Atlantan, which is rare and spent my entire career working in metro Atlanta battling the traffic and congestion. My parents loved the North Georgia mountains and visited them frequently during my childhood. I continued that my family and we have hiked and canoed all over this part of North Georgia. This area has a plethera of great family owned dining that takes pride in southern hospitality and good southern cooking. My wife is from South Florida and moved to Atlanta during her High School years. Together we fell in love with Heavenly Hideaway the first time we saw it and are so glad it is now our home and we hope you get to enjoy it as well.
Why they chose this property
We looked for almost 2 years for the ideal mountain cabin on a river and finally found the house of our dreams, called Heavenly Hideaway. The cabin's previous owners built the house and used it as their primary home and then switched to a VRBO rental home. where they have shared their home with guests for many years now. We found a home that we can escape the hustle bustle of metro Atlanta to enjoy quiet solitude on the historic Chattahoochee river. We have always enjoyed canoeing and kayaking and having our own private beach on the river where we can fish, swim and enjoying water sports was ideal for us and our family. We also enjoy mountain hiking and this property has hiking trails and several nearby ponds to enjoy. We also love all that Helen GA has to offer with shopping, restaurants and a myriad of other activities, which is only 15 to 20 minutes away (depending on the time of the year). The previous owner accurately named this spot Heavenly Hideaway and we pledge to maintain the experience they built under our ownership.
What makes this property unique
Heavenly Hideaway has a wrap around porch with an old fashioned swing/bed to relax and enjoy the afternoon sun which is our favorite place to spend the afternoon. The back deck and screened in porch is the favorite place to enjoy the morning sun with a breathtaking view of the lower plateau and river. Listening to the river below and watching the deer and wild turkeys and occasional bear are part of the lure of this magnificent place. There are 2 firepits on the property- one on the upper tier next the house and one of the lower tier next to the river. The den/living room has a large wood burning fireplace to enjoy the cooler times of the year as well as a wood burning stove in the new sun room.
