We are an executive rental. You wake up to the sun rising over the ocean from your 5 star hotel bed with 800 thread count sheets in your lofted bedroom with 19' glass windows. You have your coffee in our gourmet kitchen outfitted with everything you need to make your special meal using the organic ingredients and fresh seafood available just outside your door...you decide to eat out instead choosing from a multiple of possibilities including the Relais + Chateaux acclaimed Wickaninnish Inn (you'd stay there but you prefer over 1200 sq ft of private living space and a 270 sq ft deck). We are located in downtown Tofino on Main Street and you can walk everywhere.

You enjoy nature fully but you don't always want to stay rustic. You appreciate design and are well travelled. If this sounds like you we have a match for your accommodation in Tofino.

Miele appliances including washer, dryer, DW, stove, oven, micro...fireplace; beautifully furnished by Domicile Interiors featuring original artwork from the Haida nation and internationally acclaimed photographer Ric Kokotovich (presently on commission).

Amazing spot

The spot is Amazing. Incredible view to wake up to with the sunrise. Location is right downtown so perfect for walking everywhere in Tofino. Definitely recommended. Will be coming back

Tofino magic

Beautiful. Everything about this property is perfect - location is perfect- view is magical The host (Maddy) is wonderful and so easy to work with - responsive and very helpful. Provided lots of great recommendations which all turned out to be on the money Thanks Maddy for a truly memorable stay. I would recommend this property as the best option you can find in Tofino

Huge disappointment for my mother's 86th birthday

we drove the whole day to find condo super dirty. Manager did not answer our calls, owner did eventually and we had to go to a different hotel. I am 60, wife mid-50s, parents in 80s -- load/unload instead of going to celebrate mom's birthday. Next morning at 11 am, they kicked us out of the hotel, but the condo was still not ready. Running to check the car (1 hr limit on parking) waited until late afternoon to get into the condo. Asked for some compensation from the condo owner, she stated "talk to your lawer". Awful experience.

Disappointing stay

The owner advised they had to get a replacement cleaner but the job was definitely sub-standard (laundry left in dryer, cups in bathroom upstairs not clean; no soap upstairs, vacuum attachment in middle living room; light in laundry did not work; drink spray all over wall in kitchen; living room blanket with huge stain, etc). BBQ did not work. Kitchen fan broken. No ventilation in unit. None of the windows open. Only way to get air is to leave deck door open (no screen). Glass mirror behind oven big crack. Bacon fat left on counter. Lovely patio to sit outside. Great location. The picture on this listing makes you think you are staying in the building they are showing but you look out on that building from the patio.

Lovely Property, but some problems

We stayed here for 6 nights, good base for exploring Tofino and surrounding area. The apartment is lovely. It was clean, spacious and well equipped, with fantastic views. Unfortunately our stay was spoiled by activities from the dock below. It hosts wedding parties, and for two consecutive days there was loud music and noise from early afternoon until late at night. Dozens of wedding guests congregated outside to smoke (right in front of the no smoking signs). The last straw was as we were trying to relax and enjoy the wonderful sunset seeing people urinate in the bushes directly in front of us. I'm sorry to have to write such a negative review, as the apartment is lovely and the issues we encountered are outside the owner's control

Very comfortable.

My friend and I really enjoyed this property. Ideally this place is better suited for a couple. The main bedroom is huge. The second bedroom is small and due to no closet or drawers you live out of your suitcase. The bedside table is pretty but not useful . The beds were great. Everything that needed to be clean was. Overall it needs a thorough clean but toilets, beds etc were spotless. Great location. You could easily walk to most places downtown. Parking was easy at the condo. Directions given were all good. We could not find where to put the garbage. The previous tenants must have also had issues as they left it in the parking stall. We dumped ours at a gas station! Tofino is awesome. Amazing food. Take rain gear and you’ll be fine,

Opulent Living in the Natural Beauty of Tofino

My wife and I travel to Tofino often, usually once a year, to relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings that Tofino and the surrounding area offer. We also enjoy the fine dining and other amenities Tofino has, in addition to its crashing surf, spectacular hikes, and massive rainforests. We have stayed in various places over the years - from the Wickanninish, to cabins you can rent on Chesterman Beach. Maddy's awesome loft at The Shore has been our favourite place of all to stay. It is a brilliantly decorated, spacious and modern loft overlooking the harbour in the centre of Tofino. Mornings, we would drink coffee on the patio and watch the eagles soar above us. Evenings we watched the sunsets sipping wine. On Canada Day, we had front-row seats to the evening fireworks display in the harbour. From Maddy's unit, you can walk just about anywhere (makes having more than one glass of wine with dinner a no-brainer). Don't feel like going out for dinner? No problem: you have a gourmet kitchen and BBQ to cook whatever you like (or warm up Sobo-to-Go take-out). A lot of days, we did not really need the car we had rented, but for day treks to Ucluelet and into Pacific Rim National Park it was extremely convenient to have secure underground parking at The Shore, so we had the option when we wanted it without ever sweating for street parking. In summary, Maddy's place is stunning and luxurious, and for those that love nature but also want space and comfort, her loft is an ideal place to stay. The views out of the 2-storey wall of windows is stunning - and a joy to wake up to each day. Maddy was absolutely unbelievable to deal with, and made the entire rental process as smooth and easy as can be. Her property manager, Patty, is an absolute delight (the Canada Day fireworks were courtesy of Patty's dad's tug and barge - kudos!). We can't recommend Maddy's place, and Maddy herself, highly enough. We had an outstanding experience and we hope to stay with Maddy again (and again, and again...). Thanks! T&R

Luxury, location and Epic views

Late to review. Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed at Maddy's condo in August 2022. You can tell Maddy takes great pride in providing the best amenities and customer service. She was responsive and shared her insight which helped us build out our 4-day trip in Tofino. 1. The condo itself is stunning, well appointed, and thoughtful – the massive deck, comfortable beds, lounging furniture, a stocked kitchen with 4 coffee makers (so very west coast), and shared gear to help with our beachin' and hiking trips. 2. The location of the condo is prime - in town and on the ocean with the most epic views of the mountains and inlet. Shopping, restaurants, groceries, and a few hiking trails are all within walking distance. To find the surf, we hopped on the Tofino Free Shuttle or took our car out of the convenient parking and drove a quick 10 mins to the best beaches (and more hiking). 3. Book Maddy’s place early. It's popular and fills up quickly. Side note - If you are food motivated like us, you must have tacos at Tacofino - totally worth the wait in line AND have dinner at The Wolf in The Frog – the hype is right; this was probably my favourite meal of our 10-day BC road trip. Maddy, hope we luck out again and have the opportunity to stay at your place the next time we are in Tofino.

Great Stay

Condo is in the perfect location. Waterfront with walking access to everything except beaches, which we expected. Parking was easy and secure inside the building. Frankly we spent most of our time on the wonderful deck and ate out so didn’t use the inside amenities much. Condo was as advertised and Maddie was a great host and responded to all inquiries very quickly….even when she was traveling in Mexico.👍 Only negative for our group of “olders”, the stairs to the wonderful main bedroom suite were a little daunting. All-in-all it was a great place to use as a base for seeing and playing in Tofino.

What a view!

The view is simply amazing - from outside on the patio, from inside the condo, and even from in bed! The pictures accurately depict the condo; with the high vaulted ceiling and all the glass, it's simply stunning. It's furnished comfortably and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Bonus was the secure underground parking with an overhead door high enough that we could get our truck, with 3 surfboards on the roof, in and out of! Would stay again when returning to Tofino.

It was a great week away with family. The location was ideal - walking distance to all the shops/ downtown Tofino/ harbour views. Lovely view very relaxing

We spent nine days in May here as we needed time to have peace and we did. Tofino is great but getting more crowded each time we go. The house is equipped fairly well but a radio or stereo would have helped and some may miss a TV. Kitchen not as well set up as others have been. No real sign of welcome when we arrived - maybe it’s different in Canada but no welcome letter or journal to sign. Magazines and books scattered around the living area. And no dining table inside - a bar that wasn’t appealing. The table outside was lovely but we had rain. But the view was amazing changing with the weather each day

perfect spot in tofino

the pictures don’t even do the place justice- the views never got old and were incredible to wake up to every morning! everything you need is walking distance and i’d stay here again 10/10 times! only thing is the rug in the living room sheds and creates a bit of a mess which caused some allergies to flare up but nothing Benadryl and the vacuum didn’t quickly fix! cant imagine staying anywhere else in tofino and will hopefully be back again one day :)

Beautiful location

Overall we really enjoyed this rental and will be coming back next year. The location was central and offered a brilliant view of an active waterfront. The space is expansive, bright and feels special. Amazing to see original and unique artwork that is reflective of the location. A few little things need attention, ie. property manager never responded when checking in (had to contact very kind owner), microwave was not working, wet laundry was left in machine, no dishwasher soap, bikes were not accessible and kitchen surfaces were not left clean. Recommend taking a tour with Atleo air float planes on the docks right below.

We arrived at four and we could not take occupation because they were not finished cleaning. When we did get the key the person told us it was really check in at five which I showed her online was not true. She did not know what parking stall we should take. Maddy had not sent the Internet code as she had promised. Upon arrival this is what we noticed: General uncleanliness. Floors and rugs not well vacuumed, some areas (between bed and bed side table) not vacuumed in months, kitchen appliances not cleaned. Three corella dinner plates in total. Some plates had big chips in them. We boiled water in a pot and someone's leftover rice came to the top. The drawers in the fridge had bits of leftover food in them. The bathrooms appeared clean but lacked in toiletries. The upstairs bathroom has dishwasher soap to wash your hands and in the shower was little bits left of somebody's large soap containers. Towels were mismatched and an old bathmat was ragged. There was no soap available to run the dishwasher. I let Maddy know of our concerns the first day and did not hear back. I have rented many VRBO's in a few countries including in ski in ski out accommodations. I have never left a poor review. This unit does not live up to its advertisement as an executive suite. In this case I think a good cleaning company, new linens, toiletries, and new dishes would have would have made this a much more enjoyable stay. It was unsettling to move into a place that was not thoroughly cleaned.

Hidden Gem

Great location with fansatic views of the harbor, walking to all Tofino buisness, about 5 mins drive to Beach and easy access to the bike trail. Great place to read by the fire and watch the boats. Wonderful deck as well that only our dog enjoyed due to the rain. Bonus is the high height secure Parking, We are about 7'4" with the cargo box.

We actually bought this property when it was a concept back in 2007. The reality has exceeded our expectations. I am born in Vancouver and spent many childhood vacations camping and fishing in the playground that is Vancouver Island. We chose Tofino because we could live without a car (breath of fresh air for city folk) yet we still had the urban comfort experience that we have come to appreciate.

Why they chose this property

This property from an architectural/interior design perspective represents a combined love of the urban and of nature. We enjoy the setting, at the end of the road, at the tip of the island; there is a sense of 'arriving' at last.

What makes this property unique

We breathe here. The air is good. The food is excellent. The people are happy. We kayak, we climb, we surf, we eat, we hang, we read, and we walk...through the forest, down the beach, up the road.
