Property is as pictured. The house was great and spacious for 4 of us. Kitchen is well stocked with cookware. Host was quick to answer questions. The fridge was tricky. It took a day to cool enough for us to be comfortable putting food in it so just have a backup plan for your groceries. We kept ours in an ice chest. The river is not full enough to swim in but the water hole over by the cliff is, you just have to walk down. Overall we had a great time and would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay and liked the access to the river. The grounds were very nice with the pavilion and outdoor games available. We will definitely return.
Had a great mini-spring break getaway with the family. Lovely property-lots of space to hike and enjoy, ending the day on the wrap around cabin porch watching a hill country sunset with a great glass of wine.. Great location with quick drives to Garner, Leakey and Uvalde.

The property was great and the lodge was awesome. Clean, and plenty of room with a great back porch overlooking the river. Personal grill outside for use, full kitchen with all you could need inside. Completely enjoyed our stay and Dana was an awesome host!

Thank you Russell! I’m so glad you all enjoyed your stay. I appreciate the great review. I hope you wi visit again one day.
Lightning Bug Springs holds a very special place in our hearts as we watched our children grow up here, splashing in the river, dancing the night away under the pavilion or playing games with all of their friends in the bunkhouse. Our children are grown but the memories last forever.
When we were given the opportunity to manage Lightning Bug we were beyond excited. We want to watch other families make memories here too.
We hope you love Lightning Bug Springs as much as we do and will continue to come back year after year.
