About this property
Skolfield Inn | Parking | Self-check-in | Garden 2
Welcome to The Skolfield Inn!
ROOM 2: In this room you can relax on the couch with a book or snuggle up in bed to watch Netflix. While the room is bright and spacious, the bathroom is what keeps people coming back for more! With a double vanity, large marble glassed in shower, and original hardwood floors, you will look forward to your own little spa-like oasis. This room also comes with one, off street parking spot (cannot support larger SUVs/trucks).
The Space: Built in 1895, this John Calvin Stevens home still has many original features unique to the famous architect. Commissioned by John T. Skolfield, the single family home was converted to an inn and opened for business in 2019.
We are located in the West End, just over a mile southwest of the Old Port in the historic neighborhood known for its elaborate Victorian-era architecture. Our neighborhood offers you the tranquility of the Western Promenade, an 18-acre park offering scenic views and walking paths, in tandem with a host of popular restaurants and cafes, all within easy walking distance. The neighboring Arts District and Old Port offer plenty to explore on foot, including museums, art galleries, theaters, restaurants, shops, and bars.
With just four guest rooms, our inn offers a peaceful stay, satisfying social guests or those seeking solace.
Your private room is furnished with a queen sized bed, television (no cable, just smart TV with Netflix account), white noise machine, and a reading chair (or couch depending on the room).
Off street parking is available, cannot support larger SUVs/trucks, and being competent in reverse is a plus! For those with large vehicles, street parking is readily available in front of the inn from 4pm-10am for overnight guests (outside these hours are hourly restrictions). A half mile away is residential street parking which is free and has no hourly restrictions for those staying longer than a night.
Other things to note: ***WINTER PARKING: If we should have a snow storm, the day after the storm, we are required to remove all cars from the parking area so it can be properly cleaned out. From 9am through 3pm cars must be moved. Closest street parking with no time restrictions is about a half mile away so its a good time to explore the sites downtown or in our neighboring cities! The host will message through the Airbnb website/app the day of snow removal and any car left in the parking area will be charged a $100 fee***

The Skolfield Inn was such a lovely place to stay while visiting Portland! Super clean, comfortable, and a great location!! Highly recommend this adorable place.
We loved our stay here! Our room was wonderful with everything we needed provided. It was a hot week and we were so happy to have the window AC unit to cool off. It was super quiet in the inn which we also appreciated. Can’t wait to plan our next trip here.
We enjoy this property. It’s in a great location. It’s a short walk to the State Theater where we were seeing a show. Close to some restaurants and bars we like. No hassle check in and out. This is the third time we have stayed there.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was in a great neighbourhood. It was lovely and everything ran very smoothly. Would definitely stay again.
We had a very positive experience during our stay. The communication with the property manager was prompt and easy, the location is walkable/a short drive to many restaurants and shops, and the room and amenities were great. Clean property, cozy room, and plenty of charm! Would highly recommend staying here!

Property was super cute, clean, and quiet! Perfect for a couple or in our case, 2 best friends exploring Portland. Would absolutely come back and recommend to others.
We had a lovely stay at this inn. It was in a fairly quiet area and walkable distance to restaurants and shops. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was beautifully done. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends!
This property was charming, clean, and very comfortable. The garden was beautiful and we loved the location. The Inn offered coffee in the den downstairs and there was a microwave to heat things up. The owner provided us with good information about the Inn. We will definitely come again!
The room was clean and comfortable. Instructions were detailed and easy to follow for easy access. Peaceful residential setting with good walkability. Greatly enjoyed our stay.
