About this property

Relax with family or friends at our home from home gite based in the rural hamlet of La Roche de Bord. We are in the Poitou Charente bordering departments of the Deux Sevres, Charente and the Vienne. We have a heated pool for lazy days at the gite or some amazing places to visit in the area, all within a short drive. For beach days La Rochelle is 119km / 1hr 40 drive and well worth a full days visit. We also have a few lakes not far for either fishing, kayaking or swimming.

Séjour au top !

Un excellent séjour chez Amanda et Bradley pour aller à la Vallée des singes que nous avons été enchantés de visiter petits et grands ! Nous y retournerons sans hésiter si nous retournons dans cette région !!!

Séjour formidable

Nous avons passé un formidable week-end. Le lieu est tout simplement apaisant, calme. Nous n'avons qu'une envie : y retourner très vite. Nos hôtes ont été vraiment super et toujours disponibles.

Perfect relaxing haven, away from it all in France = Bliss

Couldn’t speak more highly of this property and the wonderful welcome we received. Easy to find and well located for winding down in France. We found it clean, comfortable and authentic. Very grateful for helpful and welcoming touches like chilled drinks on arrival and some breakfast basics which we all enjoyed. Everyone slept well in the comfortable beds. Thick walled cottage cool inside despite beautiful hot weather. Towels for the pool, and, oh the pool! Very refreshing. To be honest we were all (teenage daughters included) reluctant to leave. Stunning stars in the dark night sky. I would suggest researching and planning local days/evenings out in advance, at first glance the area seems very quiet but there’s plenty to do if you look. If staying for a fortnight, this is a great base to plan some day trips further afield as well. Gem of a property brought to life by Amanda and Graham who we genuinely loved! Plus Elvis and Ernie their gorgeous little dogs too!
