About this property
Log cabin at Vallectio lake with wrap around porch!
Bearadise is a beautiful log cabin, cozy enough for 2 or comfortable enough for 10! Surrounded by trees, Bearadise is as restful and relaxing as its name suggests. Relax inside and find there’s plenty of adventure just beyond the cabin’s doorstep. The Weminuche Mountains and downtown Durango are among the attractions just minutes away.
Kick back on the wrap around porch, listen to birds singing as the crisp mountain breeze whistles through the trees, and then you will understand how this log cabin got its name. It is impossible to feel anything but paradise when you’re sitting out here.
Bearadise's interior offers more laid-back comforts. Stretch out on the generously cushioned sofa or gather together with the gang to watch a movie on the flat screen HDTV. In summer, ceiling fans will cool you off after a long hike in the mountains, while in winter you’ll love sitting by the pellet fireplace when you return from a day on the slopes. Bearadise's dining table seats 8 and the kitchen is equipped with all the appliances, cookware, gadgets, and tableware you could possibly need. There’s also a pellet bbq grill on the porch.
Thanks to the kitchen’s dishwasher, cleanup will be a snap. But if you don’t want to even bother with loading the dishwasher, why not head downstairs for a game of darts, with the loser having to pull KP duty?
The master suite on the upper floor is so inviting, you may find yourself making excuses to turn in early. That queen-size bed is beyond sumptuous!
On the main floor behind the kitchen and living areas you will find 2 bedrooms. One with a luxurious king size bed and the other room with a queen. The main bathroom with a large updated shower is located between the two rooms.
In the basement you will find all the fun! There is a large sectional couch, TV, Darts and room for all the kids to escape and play! You will find a queen and 2 twin beds in this area.
There’s plenty more to do just minutes away. As well as restaurants, just minutes away near the boat dock. When you stay at Bearadise you can rest assured that you’re going to enjoy one of your best getaways yet. So book your reservation, and start counting down the days!

Great property! The “bearadise” theme is very cool - my family really enjoyed staying there. High quality furnishings, decor, dishes, etc. Nice thick towels… it’s a very comfortable place to stay and everything you might need is supplied. Highly recommend…
Our experience at the Bearadise was wonderful. Place had plenty of room, the right amenities and a great location for getting to places in the area. Would absolutely stay again and enjoy our time.
This was truly a home away from home. Beautifully decorated. Very comfy beds. Very clean. Stocked with more amenities than anyone could use in a stay. Pictures in advertisement are very accurate. Definitely will recommend and will stay here again if in the area. Thank you!
Perfect house for our families with little ones! Beautiful, clean, perfect location. We were seriously impressed and not expecting all the little things the owners thought about. Everything from baby gates, coffee, folding chairs for the lake, and a year pass for parking. We will certainly be staying here again in the future and more than likely every year!
The home is beautiful, everyone loved the wildlife displays around the house. Definitely one of the most unique properties we have ever stayed in. The ladies loved the wine and dark chocolate provided by the home owner. Highly recommended!!!
Coming from so far away (France), we (7 people) didn't know what we were going to find for this first week of our 18 days in the USA! We had a wonderful surprise, a superb house, warm, spacious, welcoming, perfectly equipped for so many people, very beautiful rooms, surrounded by nature, the lake right next door was wonderful! We were lucky enough to see deer, fawns, hummingbirds, squirrels every day. We even had the most incredible thing, seeing a black bear!!!!!We recommend this house 200%! This corner of Colorado is magnificent with so much to do and see! Wild and unspoiled! Durango, Silverton, Mesa Verde... If you're looking for that, go for it!!!
We loved everything about our week in Bearadise! This house exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, beautifully decorated, and included every amenity we could possibly need for our two families with children ranging from 1-15. We appreciated the stocked spices and tools in the kitchen, throw blankets for snuggling with littles
on the couch, built in retractable baby gates, and the awesome pellet grill. Perfect location in a quiet neighborhood just a short drive to the dam. We enjoyed seeing the deer come out to graze in the evening. Hosts were wonderful and very accommodating via text. We are already planning our next trip.
This is a wonderful rental. The home was clean and the setting was gorgeous. We saw all kinds of deer and birds right from the near wrap around porch view. I found the home to be surprisingly well stocked, we had everything we could need from basic things likes towels and cleaning products to things I did not expect: games, spices in the pantry, trash bags, pellets for the grill and extra blankets and pillows. We did not feel uncomfortable at any point staying here. My only complaint and its not so much a complaint as a personal thing I didn't care for and that's the taxidermy. I did know there was taxidermy, i could see them in the photos when we booked the property, but it's not quite the same in the pictures as viewing so many dead animals in person. Especially the bear in the bedroom right off the kitchen. That one was a little too realistic looking and I didn't enjoy waking up to see a dead bear staring at me, LOL. So, I would just recommend making sure you are 100% okay with seeing taxidermy in every room of the cabin. Regardless, this is a wonderful place to stay and it does deserve 5 stars.
We spent the most memorable time during our stay at Bearadise was. The property and location were exactly what we had in mind for our Christmas family vacation. The drive to the cabin was beautiful and peaceful. The attention to detail was very inviting and made our stay enjoyable.
Me and my family took a couple days to enjoy the area while we brought my daughter back to school at Ft. Lewis. This is our second year doing this and it is a nice treat before we drop her off for school. I loved this place it had everything we needed and more. It was so comfortable and welcoming all at the same time. I enjoyed drinking my coffee on the porch in the morning. It was quiet and the scenery was amazing!
Better than advertised and it looked great on VRBO. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts, from the “things” to do in the area, to the fishing suggestions. The cabin was spacious and well stocked. Fresh flowers in the kitchen and bath were a nice touch. Felt like home from the minute we walked in. Quiet, comfortable and everything we needed and more for the week. I would highly recommend this listing and especially for a larger group, as there were areas of the house untouched with just the two of us. . The wrap around porch for coffee in the morning and relaxation at night was a huge benefit. The drive between the cabin and Durango was about 18 miles, but it was perfect for the solitude and the drive whipped by with the absolute beauty and wildlife. I cannot say enough, from the hospitality of the hosts, the amenities of their home and to the beauty of Durango and surrounding areas. This home away from home was exactly what we needed to make this a memorable vacation. Thank you!
We rented this cabin for our yearly family vacation. The cabin was very clean and nicely stocked with toiletries and kitchen items. We enjoyed the quiet escape and location. The owners communicated really well with us and were responsive to any issues.

We loved the Bearadise cabin! Amenities provided made it feel like home, loved the decor, the front porch, and the coffee! Thank you for letting us stay, we can’t wait to come back!
Family spring break we had a blast. It was nice relaxing in a beautiful cabin off the beaten path. Looking to come back in the summer and see the Lake.
The cabin is really cute. We had the kids sleep downstairs and adults upstairs. The kitchen had everything we needed as well as an outdoor grill. The beds were comfortable. The location was good, an easy hour drive to Purgatory Ski Resort and 30 minutes from Durango. We would definitely stay there again.

About the host
Hosted by Steve and Jill Currier
Steve and I purchased this property in November of 2021 as a vacation home. We live in TX and have been on a search for the perfect home for years. We thought originally, we wanted a beach property, but quickly discovered that the cost of ownership at the beach was out of the budget. I grew up in Farmington and have family who have a vacation home at Vallectio as well. We quickly realized that Vallecito was the perfect spot for our vacation/retirement home and Bearadise was born!
Why they chose this property
Bearadise is perfect for two or spacious enough for a large group. Perfectly situated between Durango and Pagosa Springs. We are just off the main road, so winter accessibly is easy. In the warmer months, Bearadise is right in the middle of all the mountain activities - fishing, boating, hiking, biking, horseback riding and ATV trails.
What makes this property unique
We have stayed in many VRBO properties and one of the features that I LOVE is the opportunity to have a chef or concierge service. We are thrilled to offer to you a full- service opportunity where everyone feels like they are on vacation. Lisa at Property Concierge will take care of everything from ski/lift tickets, groceries, meals, you name it, she can help you.
