Vallecito has two restaurants and two small stores. One of the restaurants and the General Store are a 3-minute walk from the cabin. If you need a lot of groceries for your stay, we recommend shopping at one of the grocery stores in Durango on your way to the cabin. Weminuche Woodfire Grill (Bar & Restaurant), Vallecito Lake Country Market (lunches/ small store) 18071 CR 501. There is a small market, Family Dollar, and Dollar General in Bayfield. If you plan to do a big shop, we recommend you go to Albertsons, City Market, or Walmart in Durango. There is a small General Store (Rocky Mountain General Store) in Vallecito, which is good for a quick need or an unexpected craving. It would not be economical to do a “big “shop there. They do have a deli and make sandwiches! There is a small Liquor store next to the General Store with Beer, Wine, & Spirits. They close at 7 pm. Please note that the General Store and Liquor Store are closed every Tuesday.
Vallecito Reservoir - Parking permits are required to park around Vallecito Lake. Permits can be purchased at local businesses $3 per day or $30 for an annual permit (there is no fee to walk to the lake) .
