Feel free to wander around the garden, but please ask host before picking any berries or fruit (when in season). The main house deck is not available for guest use. You may occasionally see us doing yard maintenance. No need to interact if you don't wish to. We try to minimize yard maintenance, but all those trees, flowers and plants are soooo demanding! :-)
⫸ Dining Areas Tiny home with fold down desk with a chair. Outside covered porch dining table (2chairs). Addl 2 chairs around fire pit.
⫸ Bathroom Separate bathroom with barn door has a toilet and shower (no tub). No sink in bathroom; full-size sink in kitchen.
⫸ Septic System Can only use single-ply toilet paper. Please flush ONLY 1-ply toilet paper (NO feminine products, paper towels, food, hair, cotton balls, dental floss, or wipes (not even if “flushable”). Our septic system thanks you and we do too! :-)
⫸ HDTV 32" HDTV (no standard cable). Plug in your own streaming device/log into your own account.

⫸ Gardens Feel free to wander around the garden and pond. The Cottage has a slide-away screen door if you want to enjoy the breeze and garden view from inside in summer. Lots of fruit and berries and I’m happy to share with guests. Please check with host before picking berries/fruit, as I use the fruit to make my own wine and preserves.
⫸ Hot Water This is a tiny home that has it's own, dedicated (30gal) hot water tank. However, the hot water is not "limitless" (like you might find in a hotel or large home). Please be mindful of your hot water usage and keep showering times short.
⫸ Pets Live on Property We have 3 dogs (Duke, Sissy and "Miss Kitty") and 3 cats (they let us live here :-) You may see them in the yard from time to time.
⫸ Accessibility Accessible for those who use a cane, or have difficulty with stairs. One level with no steps/stairs from the parking area to the Cottage front door. Paths to Cottage grass or mulch, relatively flat and lit at night. The parking area is gravel and flat. The hot tub has 2 steps. Not accessible for wheelchairs (and possibly walkers) as limited space to maneuver inside.
⫸ Fire Pit We provide a small amount of wood for each guest. The fire pit may not be available if total fire burn bans are in effect (usually July-Sept). You may still use the propane BBQ grill, as long as it is at least 5' from any vegetation.
⫸ Laundry Service May be available for a small addl fee. There is a laundromat close by in town.
⫸ Garden Views Our gardens/yard are naturally only in full bloom only in the summer months
⫸ Wildlife & Insects (Rural Area) This is a rural cottage surrounded by mature gardens. It is a native habitat for all manner of wildlife and insects. This includes deer, herons, eagles, coyotes, raccoons and insects. We conduct regular pest control and inspections, but can't guarantee you won't see an insect or two inside (we try to keep them out, but they're persistent "buggers" :-) Please don't leave food out or dirty dishes in the sink as it attracts insects inside the Cottage.

Lovely property and cozy cottage. Loved the quiet location, the beautiful gardens and how cute the cottage was. We enjoyed the hot tub, having our meals on the porch even in the rain.
Very clean and cozy cottage. My boyfriend and I visited this area for the first time and we loved it. Hot tub was clean and the cottage provided a lot of useful toiletries and appliances which helped a lot. Highly recommend for any couple looking for a getaway!

Such a lovely place. The little cottage couldn't be any cuter with 1001 thoutful touches to make you feel at home. The property is so lovely -- gorgeously landscaped with lots of great spots to sit and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
Nice, clean, safe landing spot to explore the Olympic Peninsula. Host was quick to respond and helpful. Appreciated the coffee and toiletries. The grounds are lovely.
The space was clean, private, and had everything we needed. It was convenient to then go and explore all the different parts of the Olympic Peninsula. Everything was great, including the hot tub, and even though it was a cold weekend when we were there, we still enjoyed the outdoor space as well!
Great little cottage. Quaint. Surrounded Beautiful well-kept gardens. The cottage has all the essentials. Restful and quiet. Hot tub and fire pit wonderful bonuses.
Perfect little getaway location! The space is fully equipped with every little amenity, making the stay very comfortable. Best part was definitely the hot tub though. So relaxing, and the lights hanging around the gardens were magical! Melba was also an amazing host, very communicative and thoughtful.

It was such a pleasure hosting both of you and look forward to your returning.
Charming, clean and comfortable. The garden setting was beautiful and quiet, and the small apartment was charming and efficient. We came in late after a few days hiking, and the hot tub was heavenly. The host thought of everything to make a traveler comfortable.
I highly recommend staying here! It is private, tranquil, and in close proximity to some amazing hikes in the area. I would definitely recommend doing the hike to Dungeness Spit overlook, which is a quick drive or bike ride away. We loved enjoying the hot tub after a day of hiking and spending time by the fire in the evenings. Add to all this, Melba is so sweet and makes sure you are comfortable and taken care of upon check-in!

The cottage is exactly as described - so many nice touches like extra blankets and throws always wothin reach. Hummingbirds, cats, and a sweet, good dog were a nice unexpected plus. The grounds are gorgeous and the cottage provides a really great point to go exploring, so many amazing places within 1 to 2 hrs.
My husband and I stayed for a few nights while exploring the area for the first time. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed. It was cute and clean and the bed was cozy. The setting was very beautiful and park-like with the gorgeous landscaping. Having the hot tub was wonderful after long days of hiking. The owner was very helpful and kind. We enjoyed being greeted by the pups, they are super sweet. We definitely would stay there again!
The Secret Garden served as a wonderful jumping off point for our Olympic National Park adventures, plus we got the benefit of Lavender Weekend in Sequim! The Cottage is on a beautiful property and has thoughtful and functional items to make the stay comfortable both inside and out (yay for the hot tub and hammock!). Communication with the hosts was smooth, and they even helped us retrieve a water bottle we had accidentally left behind! We would happily stay again.
